Feeling good today! I was just checking to see how long y'all stayed up last night. We're are 271 pages. Think we can make it to 300 "under the radar?"

In the paper this mornng there is a whole section on Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival kickoff. DH says we get "local" coverage now! This is seriously one of the reasons we love to go in early May. Also, low crowds, the weather is great, the price is right, and since Epcot is our fave park anyway, it's just much prettier with all the flowers!!!! Last night was a great kickoff for us - DH is finally in the mood - he stayed on intercot all night long (he is the one who found disboards but since this is MY home, he won't spend much time here). DD is starting to get in the mood too. I can't see my ticker while I'm typing but it should be less than a month now!!!!! 29 days!

I think I'm gonna go to the "in" mall in Jax today. It's supposed to be overcast and rainy most of the day today, so it might be fun to explore Jax. Maybe DD will want to go with me while DH works in the yard. Scratch that - DH wants to tag along. Sometimes that is a good thing because he will find something that the we "need" for the house ;) but other times he's just there to control my spending. No fun. :sad2:

Cammie - have fun tonight with George and your pals! You deserve a nice night out!!!!

Catch y'all later!

Good morning !
I feel fine too. Slept pretty late. I am going to bring the kids and our neighbor to see Beauty & the Beast at the school I used to teach at today. Should be fun. I am hoping DS2 lasts since it is 2.5 hours long....Wish me luck!

Good morning.

Welp, I feel like **** today. My ear is driving me nuts. Gotta love hot one day and cold the next. Messes up my sinuses every time. Plus all these stupid flowering trees. I'M SO NOT GOING ANYWHERE NEAR A BLOOMING EPCOT! :thumbsup2

DS sounds awful. The dr said to stop the decongestant and see where we were with just 48 hours of antibiotic. I stopped his Benadryl-D and today he is so congested and practically has no voice. He has a nasty cough too . DD has a runny/yucky nose. That means either the eye teeth are messing with her sinuses or she has another ear infection. OF COURSE there was no sign of this while we were in the dr. Friday. :sad2: So I am hoping to get her one year pictures done Monday. I want one outside to match DS's and we have had to reschedule due to weather 3 times already. I just want it done.

I went to Wally world and made DS a cute little "dog tag" that has the flag on it. Has his name,mom-name & cell, dad-name & cell, home #. I told him today if we get seperated at Disney he could show it to a worker and they would help find me quickly. He was okay with this. What scares me so much is he would also be fine with anything. He just kind of goes with the flow. SO like his dad.

I'm taking Cammies advice and calling today to see if we can add on the fridge and if we can at least get a discount since it is for storing meds. ? That would be nice. Just hope they have any left since AS is sold out. So much to do today, I don't know where to start... I hate that. I did get my shopping errands out of the way, so outside of snacks we are good to go for the trip. I weighed in today. First time in 3 weeks - up 4 pounds :scared1: Got to get back with it.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! Off to get the little princess a nap.

I had my post all done then my computer crashed, so here I go again.

We are finally outside after so much cold. No jackets make thing so nice. DD 17 mos is wanting to ride her sisters scooter. she puts on the helmet and try to stand on it. very cute. they have had a blast playing outside. We're head ed to my parents for dinner and fire tonight. Gotta enjoy these days are they are too few and far between in the spring.

DD 6 hates her bike. Will not ride it. It has training wheels and is only 16 inches tires. I am at a loss. She is refusing to go near it. Says she is scared. I can't imagine why. Last summer she rode with training wheels just fine. DH decided in fall that she should learn to ride without them so we started to do that and this is when the fear set in. She didn't fall. She is a dare-devil in all other areas of play. This is the girl who screams go faster as we are pulling her in the tube behind the boat. All I can do it keep re-introducing it and offering support.

I kind of think part of the problem is that there are no little kids on our block for her to play with. Thus no one to model. All the kids are in high school. We've talked about moving but with the housing market the way it is we won't be going anywhere soon. Plus I don't want to leave the school we are at. Oh well. We'll just deal with it.

Kara - any suggestions on how to dress? I was planning on capris for me with t-shirts. A hoodie for each of us. DS t-shirts and shorts. I'm wondering if that might feel a little cool still for DS on those early mornings with the weather being a little cooler? How warm do you think it will feel at 7 or 8 am?

Saturday, low 53 °FHigh: 85 °F
Sunday, 51 °FHigh: 77 °F
Monday, Apr 14 56 °FHigh: 76 °F

Renee - We've been wearing shorts at the bus stop at 8am for the past month so I think you'll be fine, plus you're 2 hrs south. I'd just have a light jacket or sweatshirt "just in case." But I think you'll be fine in shorts and t's all day. I really hope y'all get to feeling better SOON!!!!!

Laura - DD is also scared of her bike. She had a hand me down with training wheels and we've only had them off twice. She was terrified and wouldn't pedal. A couple of times we let go while running beside her and she was doing fine.... until she realized we weren't holding on and then she would drive into the grass and fall off. So we got her a 20" for her birthday last week. She's 7 now and we told her no more family bike ride with training wheels. In fact, we told her we can't put the trainers on this bike. I'm sure she'll do it when she's ready - we just hope it's soon!!!!!

Heading next door for a bbq now, IF we can make it before the storms hit - it's ugly outside right now!

Have a nice night everyone!!!!

My weather ticker is off...it was actually almost 70 with clear skies this afternoon....
Renee...the dog tags sound great
SO SORRY everyone is sick! I would feel so sorry for myself if I was you!!

Have fun at the BBQ Kara!

Laura....my DD5.5 wants nothing to do with two wheeling it! I think she is completely ready but she says NO WAY!

Thanks guys. I thought it was just my DD. I remember learning to ride my bike in between 1/2 grade. I guess it's just me thinking she's ready.

I'm sending happy thoughts your way Renee. We were there just 2 weeks ago with all the yuck. I'm hoping that you recover just as fast as we did. Just think at least you got this before you got to WDW :)

My son will be 7 1/2 months when we go to WDW, is there ways to heat up his jarred baby food while at the parks and so forth?

Strollers - Are the WDW strollers comfy enough for a baby? Does he have to be an unsupported sitter to use the WDW strollers?

Leslie

Hi Guys! Just home from the movie: movie - ok; George Clooney - :faint: (I swear, is there a more perfect man?)

Renee - Got well soon! Think positive - glad to feel lousy now; instead of one week from now!

Leslie - Actually, I don't think the Disney restaurants will let you heat up baby food; I think it's a liability issue from their point of view. But you can go t0 the baby stations at each park (near the first aid) - they have microwaves.

Ok - want to hear something really pathetic? My 12 yr. old STILL does not know how to ride a two-wheeler! This is the BIGGEST thorn in my side. As a similiar experience was explained earlier: did fine with the training wheels; off came the training wheels and down she went! Terrified of trying it again! I have bigger fish to fry so I have never pushed it. We don't really live in a bike-riding neighborhood; and her friends don't really do it that much, so it has never come up. But it bugs me soooo much. Of course, I'm blaming her dad - if he was still around, he could have helped. So don't feel bad about your 6 or 7 yr. olds!

Debbie & Laura - You both have me beat in the weather ticker department; we were only in the 50s today!

Renee - We've been wearing shorts at the bus stop at 8am for the past month so I think you'll be fine, plus you're 2 hrs south. I'd just have a light jacket or sweatshirt "just in case." But I think you'll be fine in shorts and t's all day. I really hope y'all get to feeling better SOON!!!!!QUOTE]
Thank you. I started packing last night. I'm just bringing T's and shorts. One hoodie each. I think that will be fine. I'm bringing ponchos for rain too. Just in case.

Debbie, Kara, Laura & Cammie -
Thanks for all the well wishes. I have to take DD to clinic today. She actually had so much drainage that her Binky stuck to her mouth overnight. YUCK. I need to go tomorrow. I think mine is that my earlier sinus infection didn't quite get knocked out (I honestly suspected it when I still felt bad day 9 of the antibiotics week before last). I just have "held steady" and been a little worse each day. Mostly what kills me is the fatique. But you know, at the end of the day, these are all small illnesses. Just pains in the butt, but no big deal. It will be okay. It is just dealing with it when I need to do things that is rough. Well, that and the poor kids feeling yuck. DS sounds awful. He seems to be playing okay though. DD, not so much. I can't wait until the clinic opens this afternoon! Last night she barely slept - not usual.

As for the bike thing. Not to sound stupid - but why does it matter about the training wheels? I'm a big believer in everything really is a stage. Honestly, how many adults walk around with a Binky? At some point, they will give it up when they are ready. Laura - I think you brought up others not being around for her to see and want to be like. I guess I am in a different situation. DS has lots of kids around 5-2 years older, so he wants to do whatever they are doing. I still have his training wheels on, but I think I may raise them up a bit - which might be a solution for everyone else? Just so they are there if they go to fall, but not on the ground all the time?

Hi Guys! Just home from the movie: movie - ok; George Clooney - :faint: (I swear, is there a more perfect man!
:lovestruc no comment! :lmao:

Okay - I printed off the entertainment schedule to take with me! YAY! Guess what? According to photos by Brad, Playhouse Disney Live has the Super Sluths there, so we may have to go to DHS anyway. DS is NUTS about the Wall*E trailer. He even hums the song. Brad said there is an exibit there too, so maybe that with Mater justifies an afternoon? I am going to tweak the plan tonight.

SO HERE IS YOUR LAUGH TODAY LADIES
Packing last night, I put each complete outfit in a nice 2 gallon bag. Sat my fat *#@ on it, and zipped it up. I sware it works better than those space bags I had! DH was AMAZED. Flat as a pancake! Guess there is some perks to my butt after all! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Again with the questions...

Stupid one. One of my 1 quart liquid carryon baggies is almost all meds. All SMALLER than 3 oz. Since now we have to do the extra security check anyway for the antibotic for DS, can I seperate all our meds and do them through the additional check too, or do they only deal with meds that are larger than 3 oz?

Cammie - didn't know if you had dealt with that one since you said you travel with meds for DD. By the way, I called and they didn't say anything about me paying for the fridge since it was to store meds. Thanks for the tip! I probably wouldn't have mentioned the med part if you hadn't suggested it!

Good morning ladies! I was gone for two days and came back to 2 very busy pages! I skimmed through a little, but I just can't catch up this morning, so I just wanted to say hi!

I was busy working Friday, yesterday I got up early and went birthday shopping for DH and DS, then got ready for the next Arbonne party - held at a Mexican restauraunt Yumm! Then I came home and had a family party for DH and DS. DS was 24 on Friday, and DHs birthday will be on the 10th when I am gone.

Rant coming: DS25 and his wife and little DGS, 11mo were here. DGS doesn't even know me. :sad1: DDIL looks for every excuse in the book not to come over here - we are supposed to scrap today, but she "didn't have enough room in the car" for her stuff. She brings it every other time she comes. She said she brought her scrapbook for me to look at - so I asked her to bring it and DGS over today - DS is working at the base this weekend. If she doesn't come over - or if she doesn't bring him, I'm gonna be really MAD! We are definitely going to have to have a talk. I am planning to drive 90 min over the hill to babysit once a week to try to help with babysitting costs - she could at least let me see him when they are here! She has this bizaare relationship with my MIL and they act like I'm just an acquaintance or something.....

No, it's not. I saw it on the playlist and thought the same thing. But when I finally listened to it, don't think it's him.

Have you heard the recording of the "Monorail resort loop" yet? My daughters and I LOVE it! You just close your eyes and can imagine yourself riding it while listening to the announcements. I really do like listening to it!

I love that one! - I do the same thing!

I agree with the no park planning. I have everything else mapped out, but not the minute by minute, hour by hour, park plan. This time we are probably heading straight for Fantasyland to hit Dumbo and Winnie and Peter Pan first before it gets too crowded (since we're with large group) and then be in Toontown when it opens at 10:00 to meet the characters. Otherwise the meet n greet line can be over an hour (yes, Laura, that's in May!). We're also trying to make a rope drop - never done it before even though we're always there for EMH mornings! :confused3

Our first day in MK is the afternoon we get there after we check into our rooms. I think I'm going to encourage the gang to start out "going left" into Adventureland and Frontierland. We can probably knock out those two lands by the time Spectro starts at 9pm. That way when we come back for rope drop a few days later, we can head straight for Fantasyland and then go right toward Toontown and Tomorrowland. But I have a feeling my nephew will not want to leave Fantasyland..... he tends to be a little, how shall we say..... obstinate???

ALWAYS GO LEFT ON EVERYTHING!!!! :thumbsup2 Everyone else goes right!

Okay now I am getting a little worried. ;) First I find out you were honemooned the same year at WDW as we did then we are both staying at POP the same week and going to BBB the same day. AND now the baggallini.
It is a sign that we have to meet. :goodvibes

I am using mine now and it is full of baby supplies. Love it. It is so much easier than lugging another diaper bag around. My only complaint is that DD 17 mos loves the zippers so I never know what she is going to pull out. :rotfl:

That's what I was thinking. I really want to catch Peter Pan and some others. Looking at the crowd charts May isn't super busy but I still think the lines could get long. Do you have any special things you do in line to entertain the girls? That is one of my biggest fear is that DD will get board in line.

Microsoft Works does contain a wizzard that will help you store and print pictures. It is a very generic package. It does just the basics. You're doing everything just fine. Now I did notice that photobucket has some photo editing things like red eye reduction and resizing. The resizing feature might work to create avatars. I just noticed it has a button for thumbnails.

Now that being said. Shutterfly and other photo developing places have their own software that will help "maximize" the picture. They will adjust color and brightness automatically for you. The photoshop is nice if you print you own photos or do "special things" to them. I have added people in photos before.

Bottom line.... your just fine. If your pictures your are printing are coming out the way you want them then don't worry.

HAHAHAHA I said don't worry.... That's why we're here! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I tried to use the photobucket for thumbnails before, and the file size was still too large :confused3

Kara - I have the Overland Donner bag - red w/black daisy lining. I call it my mickey colors! It worked great for our trip in November. Held alot; really liked the two water holders on each side. I'm looking for something a little smaller also. Sometimes I just didn't need to take that bigger bag out all the time.

I have a black bag similar to that one - my mom bought it for me to take to baseball games awhile back - I dug it out last year and took it to WDW - I really liked it! It only holds one water, though. Anyway, with it being black, DH will hold it sometimes!

Strollers - Are the WDW strollers comfy enough for a baby? Does he have to be an unsupported sitter to use the WDW strollers?

Leslie

Leslie, I've never traveled with an infant before so I can't answer this one - anyone else?

Hi Guys! Just home from the movie: movie - ok; George Clooney - :faint: (I swear, is there a more perfect man?)

Uh, yeah - Matthew McConnaughey!!!!!

SO HERE IS YOUR LAUGH TODAY LADIES

Love it!!!!! :rotfl2: I read this part out loud to DH this morning and he just raised his eyebrows and said, "huh." A month ago he would have rolled his eyes and told me that was a little over the top. But I've already bought my zip locks (I had a heck of a time finding the giant ones!) and planned on doing this too. It's so weird that he has literally developed huge interest in planning this trip now. And ohhhhhh, he is SO going to the DVC spiel while we're there!!!!!

Renee, hope you feel better - you're getting so close now - I'm soooo jealous!

This is my first experience on this thread with "missing" someone who is in the World right now! And I just saw the weather and it's supposed to be nasty stormy and rainy today - poor Erin and Tessa!!!!! :sad2:

Debbie - yea for the nice weather yesterday! :cool2: It was hot and oh sooooo humid here and then the tstorms rolled through and it cooled off quite a bit.

Had a nice time with our new neighbors last night. They seem a lot like us. We all have the same idea about "smuggling" drinks into the pool this summer. Because there is a cabana bar there and snack bar and they sell food and drink, we're not allowed to bring out own. So my neighbor already bought a big jug to mix drinks, and she also bought cups like they use at the bar so it will "look" like we bought them there!!!!! She thinks like me!!!

DH is researching how to get Live365 through Tivo! Wow, maybe he'll actually get Tivo hooked up today - no hurry though, it's only been 6 months :lmao: He was loving listening to it on Friday night though!!!!!:goodvibes

OK, we're up to page 272 - we just might make 300 pages, huh?:confused3

Happy Sunday y'all!

Tammie, so funny, I almost posted "anyone heard from Tammie lately?" and then you were posting at the same time! :rotfl2:

I'm so sorry about DDIL! Have you talked to your son about this? I think I'd approach him first and hopefully he can address it with her instead of you doing that. I was always told (kinda the opposit way) that any issues I had with DMIL that DH should address since he is the true relation and will be forgive easier.

Yup, go left!!!! It is so true, too! We tested it several times last month at MK and Universal and it really does work!

I reloaded my Donner bag yesterday and hauled it around town - it acually holds more than I remember, but not sure how comfy it is on the shoulder - my shoulders are pretty sunburnt now so that might be the problem.

Glad to see you're back with us!

I'm not really understanding your question. Any "prescription" meds are not held to the 3oz. rule - just keep them in their original bottle from the pharmacy. I travel with quite a few meds for my daughter and have, not once, put them in a plastic baggie or even taken them out of my carryon. I usually carry her meds in a Ariel insulated lunch box - security has never opened it. And, now that I think about it, some of the meds ! carry in the lunchbox are not all prescription: Motrin, Sudafed - all liquid and over 3 oz. Like I said, NOT ONCE, have they ever opened and examined the med bag! Guess they're too busy figuring out all the medical equipment I'm carrying on, they let the meds slide!:lmao: (BTW - there was a thread about liquid meds on the transportation board last week; you could try to find it; there are ALOT of experienced travellers over there that give good advice)

BTW - congrats on the fridge!

Hey Tammie! Good to hear from you again! You seem to be partying alot!

Sorry about the situation with your DGS. I think this has come up before, hasn't it? I had mentioned then, I always think the son's mom gets the short end of the stick. I'm seeing it now with my brother and his son and how much time they spend with my parents. My SIL's parents live in the SAME town as mine, yet she hardly takes my nephew over to see my parents - makes it seem like such a chore. And maybe it is, but too bad! They're still her son's grandparents! I think it's good for you to say something NOW! Don't let it go on like this because resentment will just eat away at you! Good luck!:flower3:

Uh, yeah - Matthew McConnaughey!!!!!

Matthew McConnaughey smells!:snooty:

Seriously, he's stated in many interviews that he doesn't wear deodorant - at all! Likes the smell of his own "manly" smell! And that man seems to like to work out alot so I'm sure he's generating plenty of that "manly" smell! :scared:

One more before I go.....

Renee - Forgot to add my chuckle in regarding the "flattening" of the ziplocs. Glad to hear there's another good use for my large caboose also!

BWV.jpg

This is Natalie's newest creation and I thought of you Cammie! Hopefully me, too, soon!!!!!

I've printed out all the dining invitations and resort invitations and I'm going to frame them (8x10) and do a "border" around the ceiling in our upstairs Disney room. But they can't go on the wall until we have either eaten there or stayed there!!!!!!!
