Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too........ Part 2

As far as the princess meal - I agree with Laura - the Norway one is much easier (and cheaper). But a meal in the castle should be experienced. You're right though, at 2, your DD might not yet be in awe of it all; may be better to wait - just means you'll have to promise her you'll go back! Can you get hubby to agree to that?
ITA!

Glad you got your cleaning done. I have heard a lot of people like or hate that one. Either you get Cinderella - or sometimes it is just the "mean guys" I think. DS would freak out - so that is why I didn't do that one. Most people say the food is great there!
We have always gotten Cinderella and Prince Charming. We have also gotten the mice! NEVER any one mean. Who would that be? The step sisters?

Sorry I wasn't here myself. I was hanging with a friend who is going through a rough patch with her DH (really rough) and then since it was still nice I decided to clean up the side of the house. I forget it's later by all you drunk posters. I think Laura is the only one here in the same time zone as me.

Good morning ladies! It's a dreary rainy morning here in MA. I'm waiting patiently for DD8's softball coach to decide if he wants to have practice at 9am or if he wants to be a kind and wonderful man and allow me to go back to bed. The email should come through any minute.

DD5 has had a wonderful night - yesterday all she did was vomit every 20 mins - after 2 hours of eating nothing, I was able to get a little chicken broth into her and she's turned around for a full recovery. Of course I'm taking no chances and keeping up the liquid diet and praying that no one else gets it.

So here I wait for the email that may or may not come. I've deicded today I'll clean the breezeway, do laundry, vaccum and then venture down cellar to clean the old office so it will become my sewing room. Not exactly an exciting day, but I'll get something accomplished. I refuse to clean the kids' playroom, which seriously looks like bomb went off in there. I've boycotted the room for a month now and the girls have done nothing to recover it. How do they find toys in there?

DD5 is saying her jaw hurts so I'm off to find some motrin and a cold compress. Hope all of you have a great Saturday!!

Good morning Ladies!!!

First of all, Renne, I have never personally done CRT, but we've done Akershus for the Princess lunch twice. The first time we had Ariel, Jasmine, Alice and Mulan. Then this time we had Belle, Ariel, Jasmine, Alice and Cinderella. The food is nothing spectacular, but it is only one TS and it now includes the photo package (last time we went that was one of the big differences in that CRT was the only one to include the photo). Akershus is designed to look like a castle, too, just not "the" castle, KWIM?

Laura - I was also an HR manager at my last company, and I totally respected those that came to me with legitimate issues (not the whining, but issues that could actually be addressed). I hope it all works out for you!

Debbie - Sorry I missed you last night! DH was feeling a bit neglected so I logged of the DIS early. About killed me, but I did it! :rotfl2:

Cammie - good for you for utilizing the help you can get with Amanda. But I also understand the control freak in you! And even though he sounds truly awful, good for your ex for making sure that she is well cared for by making sure that you don't have to work (outside the home, cause I'm sure you work way more than most of us!!!). I can only imagine the challenges you deal with everyday and I have so much respect for you!

Jillian - I thought 1900 Park Fare was the one with Mary Poppins? I would love to do the one with Cindy, Prince Charming, and the step sisters - I've heard they are so funny! Which one is that?

Tina - So sorry to hear that DD is sick! Y'all have had a heck of a time with that stomach bug since leaving Disney! Your systems must be fighting back due to lack of pixie dust!!! :rotfl2:

To everyone else, happy weekend!!!

Oh, did I ever mention that I "secretly" packed Jeff's crocs (he HATED them and refused to wear them in public!) and he wore them every single day! He admitted that they are ugly (which I think we can all agree on!) but the most comfy shoes he's ever worn for walking like that! But one of the straps keeps breaking. That should be covered under warranty, right?

Good morning - sorry I missed the action last night. But, man, did I get some much-needed sleep!

Kara - I've always had Snow White at our Norway princess meals also; wasn't she at yours? And, Mary Poppins is at breakfast at 1900PF; dinner used to be Cinderella and her mice - it's now Cinderella, Prince Charming, evil stepmother and stepsisters (they're a HOOT!)

Thanks for your kind words. In the big scheme of things, my ex isn't all that bad. You're right - I'm grateful to be able to stay in this house and not work (although I wish I COULD work because I could use the extra money). He does chip in when things get tight - think his guilt makes him do that! I just think overall it's a sad reflection on divorce as a whole when a man is applauded for doing those things for his family after he's left. It seems there are many more instances - like the one with Jillian's family - where dads are not financially responsible and leave the family high and dry. That's what gets me.

Cammie - here's my TR http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1822636. Kinda wished I would have waited until I had my photopass cd back, but I may just add to it once I get it next week.

Thanks - I'll go check it out!

Here is that TR I was telling ya about - I have only read 24 pages of the 120!!! But this woman should be a professional writer, she's made me laugh out loud, cry and say "awwww" all in the same chapter (and she has lie 36 chapters of which I've only read 9!). Really a fun read! http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1564141

Debbie yup it is just you and me in the central time zone. Sorry I missed you.

Renee Hit the Norway dinner vs CRT. She'll be too young to appreciate "the" castle.

Today is the church carnival. So we'll be outside all day. I am so thankful that is is warm. Yesterday it was almost 80. I actually got sunburned. I went to FL for a week came back with a tan no sunburn and I am in my yard planting a tree and get fried.

Thanks for the kind thoughts about going to HR. I have never been one to really call people out. I am thinking there is some funny stuff going on so I want to protect myself. What's the worst they could do fire me? Yeah then they have to pay me unemployment. Okay so maybe that would work in my favor...just kidding. You guys are the best.

I'll try to be here for DP

I've been following this TR also. She is very funny. I will admit though, I find myself wincing sometimes - there's some mom-bashing that goes on. Now I know we don't know the whole story but, considering the situation I'm in, I'm pretty sensitive about any stepmother who bashes the kids' mom. It may all be true what she says, but we'll never really know the whole story.:confused3

BTW - did you notice her name is Cammie also?

Hi Tina! Hope you get a little extra Zzzzzs! Hope that DD gets to feeling better too!!!!!!

I was also an HR manager! Crocs - That should be covered under warranty, right?
First, I guess it must be the profession that makes us sarcastic smarty pants - huh? :rotfl2:
As for the Crocs - don't know. Had that happen once, but it was DS's fault - he pulled it off on purpose. I never wear my straps around my heal anyway. I flip them forward - so if the warrenty doesn't work - he might just want to take the other one off too????

! I just think overall it's a sad reflection on divorce as a whole when a man is applauded for doing those things for his family after he's left. !
My mom left my dad for my SF. Then decided a 11 yr old was no fun, so luckily, my dad took me. When I had lived with her - he had volunteered to pay child support. Then when I moved in with him, he never got a dime from her and worked in a factory - so wasn't exactly rolling in the dough. But it is funny to hear you say that because my mom always felt like she never had to give anything to him - EVER. But when I stayed 2 weeks with her one summer, she had the nerve to ask him for $$$!

I think you are wisely using the nurse. That lets you get a good night sleep and take care of her. I would be the same with Amanda. I don't know. That is an amazing program though. My DGM could have used something like that. She had my Aunt sleep with her so she could keep an eye on her at night - and I remember from spending the night that she never really slept well for that reason. I'm glad that you can get that rest to be there 100% for your girls!

Our trip is put off until tomorrow. DH is at work so it is just me and the kids today. I need to do some things for the upcoming CKU trip, but I also need to clean the house, as well as some other stuff. Let's see what I can get done today. My DM has decided that she loves my lilies and iris patch. She had DSF call today and say they were coming with a shovel to get some of them! :scared1: So glad DH isn't here. That might end up with him out there saying something! Not going to be a pretty day here - either I tick her off or him off. :sad2:

Okay girlfriends...

Could use your opinions. I'm winning on an ebay snow white dress that I like - it is a fancier one with shoes and the headband. I've found one that is all satin, so it should be softer - and looks more like the true dress rather than the ....

Heck, why don't I just link the pics in... DUH!
One I'm winning
HPIM4241.jpg

One I think would be more comfy
aaac_1.JPG

So, should I bid on them both? No one is bidding at all on the second. The first one is at $11 - and my max bid is $15. It has 2 days left.

I'm thinking if I win them both I could always relist one...

I'm Central too!!!

Thanks for the advice about the dinner. Lunch would definately be better deal I think - that way we can have a little more time in Epcot.

I can't believe I'm saying this as the mom of an animal lover, but I'm actually thinking about doing 5 days and spending only a half day if any at AK. I don't know, maybe since we got rained out I didn't get to appreciate it, but that wasn't as grand as I had thought it would be in my mind....

Both dresses are so pretty - and that's a great price! In the first one, is the bodice velvet? If so, that might be a little too hot. I think the second one more accurately matches the real Snow White's dress. Seriously, though, I'm going to give one more scout around my house to just make sure we don't still have a Snow White dress.

Re: Norway meal. Why not do breakfast? It's the cheapest meal, more basic foood, and you could get a late ADR for @10:30 - so you wouldn't have to get up too early.

I'm with you about AK. We don't always hit that park every trip - Lauren is NOT an animal lover. But we do like Kali Rapids, Lion King show, Dinoland. We used to love, love, love the Tarzan Rocks! show and was so disappointed to see it go. We'll be sure to try the Nemo show this time around. But AK is a park we don't rush to get to that early: we show up by 10:00 and we leave right after the parade.

1900 has supercal. BF in the AM and then it is dinner w/Cindy and friends. The food was the best we had out of CH. Dining/Buffets. Badookie just loved the wicked step sisters and step mothers. They even PC and cindy danced amd they had all of the fathers dance with their daughters it was just to :cutie:

ITA on all points!

Hi girls! Have a good Saturday!

Cammie....glad you got some sleep! You deserve it!
Tina...hope DD feels better and it doesn't spread!

Are you paying out of pocket? DDP?

I agree about AK. We love the Safari, Bugs Life, Rapids and of course EE!!!!!!

Cammie, I think they both are. :headache: Maybe breakfast would be best 'cause it would be cooler then and we can change afterward for sure. Mia has such sensative skin - it may not work. That said, I think the second dress is more true to Snow too. Even though it is velvet too, it just looks softer to my eye for some reason. I don't think I'd have a problem reselling the first dress. It is pretty. I think that is the holiday theme they came out with last Christmas, actually. Mia has that Snow, but she still favors her basic one.

Thanks for offering to look for the dress for us. You are too sweet. I still may have to get one off ebay for little bit though. She is probably going to have to have the 2/3T and I bet there will be a lot of altering that my BestF agreed to do for me. She has size 9-12 mo pants falling off when she walks. She is so tiny. Then I have my little BIG boy - who is practically the size of a 6 year old! So funny how that works out!

You see, my little scaredey-cat (Lauren) WILL never do Bugs' Life again; will not even try EE. I can't pick on her too much though - she takes after me!
Same with us. DH has a heart condition, so I'd rather him not do scary rides. He likes them though. Me - well, Barnstormer was more than enough for me! And at AK, DS did Safari, wasn't that wild about it. Said no to KR, Wanted to do PW, but I said no way, we spent most of our time in Dinoland playing games to be quite honest. He asked to leave that park though. I think it has a lot to do if you like the thrill rides, but it not, I don't know, seemed a little flat to me.:confused3
