Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too (Part 2)

2321Well, we went out for dinner last night - Mexican! I love Mexican food but we had to drive a ways cause there's nothing nearby. And I had the WORST margarita ever made! I only drank about 1/4 of it. Then the meal I ordered was the WORST! Not a good dinner.

But afterwards we stopped by Home Depot and I finally got my palm trees that I've wanted for the yard!!! I got two for outside, kind of a different variety, and then a 10' one for inside the screen enclosure! I can hardly wait to get it repotted.
Okay, that totally deserves a birthday do-over! I totally agree - nothing worse than bad mexican food. But when it is good... :cloud9: . I honestly think I could live there.

Palm trees in your yard. I HATE YOU! :snooty: Seriously, I would love one of those babies in my yard. Forget sneaking in the bushes at MK, lets all do it at Kara's

Maybe I should think about writing a pre-TR. This one is going to be funny!

SO, my lovely little hubby and I sat down last night at 8 pm without the kids to talk "Disney" with none other than Judge Judy in the background. SO... he adapts her attitude with me. What do I do? What any self respecting wife would do. I cut him off at the knees! :rotfl2:

(Cue Kara's wrestlers)

So, we go at it pretty nasty for um... 30 minutes. He fires at me nasty, I tell him I'm not his coworkers and he needs to tone it down, explatives flying on both end. I am certain it would have made a really good comedy. Finally Mr. Pis*y pants calms down enough to look at the book (still with a face on like he should be Kara's BSIL - I"m serious - that same look!) I'm yelling at him to adjust his attitude. Finally, peace breaks out when he turns the TV off at about the 45 minute mark.

Still a little snotty, but we get looking at the book. He gets gruntle - tells me we need to stay at the value because the price of the Deluxe is insaine. I go on to say I disagree because of the amount of misery that he will place on our trip if he stays at one. :rolleyes1 So I keep saying - no difference between that and our beach trip.

OH- and then he says - 3 nights. Girls, it hit the fan. Needless to say - 5 nights is what I stuck to all night and that is what I'm doing. :snooty: I've done 3 nights and it is insaine. Besides, you have all said it has to be at least 5 nights! :)

Okay, so back to the story. Come to find out he didn't understand that I thought if we do a super duper Disney trip that we would only take one vacation next year. He thought I was planning Disney AND the Beach trip in the fall. Not so much (I think... :rotfl: ) but seriously, I know Disney at a Deluxe would be our vacation budget for the whole year, and I'm okay with that. Once he understood that - the tides changed.

His mood was nice, he wants info on all the Deluxe resorts. Throw in a mod for price point (mainly because he thinks that putting it with a rental car is going to show that the Deluxe is cheaper - sounds like he is doing my kind of math now :yay: - so who knows the MOST EXPENSIVE car rental joint? :rotfl2: )

So we left it as - get him more info on all the resorts. He is very interested in Poly and BC. So... I also need to nail down dining choices, and a park map to help a bit, but I really like where this is headed.

And at the end - the best part - he says "well, you know, this trip is a learning trip for next time. We'll go back in a few years, so we'll learn what we want to do then." :)

LIFE IS GOOD... :)

NOW - Where I need the help of my dear DIS friends...
If we will be staying in a Standard Room at BC or Poly - when will we need to book the room by?

We have also done better about eating at home. I swear, y'all, it all started when Debbie proposed that pantry challenge! It so works, and it gets me a little creative too!

So tonight Ally wanted to go to 5 Guys Burgers & Fries for dinner. I had horrible stomach pains, cramps but not PMS cramps. She really wanted to go so I suffered through it. Then we got her a couple of outfits at Justice, two pairs of shoes, then on to Home Depot. I was determined to get these big plants, they kind of look like big thick monkey grass, with really tall purplish blue flowers that shoot out, with big blooms that remind me of hydrangeas. I have no idea what they're called, but I bought 5, then rearranged a bunch of monkey grass, and azaleas, and put the new plants out by the patio. It looks really good. I'll try to take some pics in the morning and post.

I was sooo hot and sweaty that I came straight in to shower, and then my neighbor showed up to pick up the turtles we were watching for them while they were in Disney. They were so sweet and brough me a really pretty Mickey frame, and picked up some lip gloss and a notebook for Ally from Justice. So cute.

They said they never waited more than 10 minutes for anything. I think they must be exaggerating though - even with FP, the attractions that don't take FP would be much longer lines in July, I would think?

OK, I'm missing Big Brother now, so I've got to run - later!

Good Morning! Sorry I've been MIA - I'm just too exhausted to post!

Happy Belated Birthday, Kara! You got to do landscaping for your birthday?

We actually have those purple flowers here - I had some at my old place. It's so dry here and cold at night, so not much grows well. Those are perrenials, so you should have them a long time!

Cammie, praying for Amanda, poor thing. How miserable for her. :sad2:

Tessa, I was picturing "Paddington Bear" when you described your beachwear - I was right! :rotfl2: Hope you have a great time!

Hello to everyone! I can't stay and play - I have to get in the shower - the babysitter is always late, so I have to start the morning with the kids, then I have an 8:30 appt, a 10am haircut, and orders to place. I'm leaving for a beach retreat put on by my upline tonight - I had 3 hrs sleep and I am driving for 2 1/2 hrs tonight to get to my ride's house so we can leave early tomorrow morning! I will have to nap with the kids today - AND I am not even packed yet.

So, I'm sorry for the scattered posting, and not mentioning everyone - hope you have a wonderful weekend! :grouphug:

So... for clarification... was it YOU who called in sick - or a coworker? :rolleyes1

Renee - I love your rundown of your run in last night! :rotfl2: See? Ricky is a smart man. A "learning" vacation? I love it!!! And he will too.... IF you stay at BC!!! :lmao: Sorry, Debbie, just had to throw that in there. Seriously, I don't know that you'll need a car at all. How old will Mia be?

Mia will be 25 months. The car would be mostly because I'm going to have to visit family one day. I told him I bet the nice folks at BC could arrange a rental car for 24 hours. The live in Altamonte Springs, so I know a cab would be a little over $60 each way - not practical.

Okay I can't sleep. DH is out like a like and so are the children and I can't sleep.

I rarely ever have that problem, but sometimes wish I did! I hear about people that wake up in the middle of the night to read, get things done. I wish that I could. I love sleep!!

Cammie - Sorry to hear about Amanda. Surely, you will be able to get a refill on her Tylenol. I wish we could take the pain away from our kids.

Kara - I love the palms! Sorry about the dud bday dinner. That stinks. I agree, re-do, re-do!! Don't work too hard today!:rolleyes1

Hi, Tammie! Get some rest, get busy, then have fun!!

Renee - That is awesome!! Good work, girl! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Make your pages extra special pretty! princess: Gotta sell it! Deluxe resorts - I will have to live that thru you all. I am the cheap one in the family that will only stay at a value resort. The others sound great, but I can't part w/the cash!

Hi to everyone else! :flower3: Guess I better do some work...:sad2:

Pam - the deluxe with us is a because of Mia's stage issue. She is a big napper. Now - up at 7:30 am. Nap at 9:30 - 11:30; nap2 1:30-4:30; bedtime 7-8 pm. She is a solid sleeper too, but must be in a dark bed to nap. By then I'm hoping that it will be 1 nap a day, but we are looking for a place where one of us can do that while the other takes Nicolas and does whatever. The one thing I learned with Nicolas is using the buses at AS, you could burn an hour each way. Put that with her lovely sleep schedule and someone is getting barely any Disney time.

I could think of so many reasons to choose Deluxe! They are absolutely beautiful, and the buses and food courts can be a whip! We have fun, though. I can just be a cheapie when it comes to that. Now some other things...:rolleyes1 When the girls were little, we tried going back to the hotel on the bus to take a nap. They slept on the bus, but were wide awake and would not nap at the hotel. Wish we would have done it then for that very reason! We were just bus riding to get naps in. Sad!

Now, if someone else were paying and INSISTED...I'd be all over it!

Renee, I'm sure Mia will be down to one nap a day by then. So you guys could be up and out for EMH first thing in the morning, then head back each day by 11:30-12:00 for lunch and nap or pool. Then back out by 4 or 5. That sounds perfect! I'm sure Carlos/Ricky will come around. But it definitely sounds like he's starting to "get" it.

Yeah, Ricky will like it once we are there. Besides, like I told him last night, if he was annoyed with the CSR what makes him think that he could be okay with AS? I think that made him think.

I'm rearranging the furniture in our playroom. I know it will look worse but I need to open up the space more so there isn't an area where the kids can "hide" while I'm on the computer. Especially for Little Miss Everything Belongs in My Mouth!

Ok - Amanda's not having a good morning; she's really moving her mouth alot and wincing. Don't know if discomfort should still be expected a week past the surgery. I've already given her Motrin and just now did the Tylenol w/codeine; but I also have a call into the doc.
I'm heading off for awhile; she's requiring alot of attention right now. Be back later.

I feel so bad for the poor sweet girl!

Oh, I really hope Amanda feels better soon!
I think I would really have a hard time if Jeff and I ever split up and he remarried. I think I would really be competitive for Ally's attention. I know that sounds bad, but it's just me being honest.
Weird storms rolling through today. The sky gets black, the radar shows it, but then it dies off right when it gets here. Oh, well...

ITA I would be OUT OF MY MIND!

right there with you. Over eating is my way to dealing with stress. just look that goof ball in the black and white swimsuit in the photo below- enough said. Here are some pictures of the girls.. at the beach and riding bike

That child wouldn't take her life jacket off that day. She wanted it on so she could go out really deep and float. She is my daredevil.

Good morning guys!

Amanda did not have a comfortable night; nor is the morning starting off too well. The Tylenol w/codeine does the trick for 8 hours; but then she really seems to need the next dose. I spoke to the surgeon last night; said it wouldn't be unusual for her to experience pain 7-10 days post-op. Basically, what the procedure did to her overgrown gums is similar to third degree burns! The original nerve endings of the tissue were burnt away; now the new ones are starting to sprout. He said he sees kids have some pain issues with this. I'm down to my last dose of Tylenol w/codeine; and we don't see him until tomorrow - think I may be hitting him up for a refill of that stuff. I just wish she could settle and get some rest.:sad2:

So cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for posting the pix! Love them!

Gotta run girls! I have a busy day. Sorry I missed you guys yesterday.

Kara Happy Birthday again!!!!!! Love your garden and your new palm trees!!!
I still want that porch of yours too!

Renee...Poly! Poly! Poly!
Sorry...not sure when you can book.

I'm just more curious when I SHOULD book by. Am I right in that it doesn't matter as long as you are at the beginning of your ADR window? :confused3 I told Carlos last night that I thought as long as you got your dinner squared away early on, the hotel reservation if you are going to do standard would be fairly easy to get during May.

I think you're fine at about the 6 month mark. So if you book by November you should be fine (if you're still looking at May!). Then it looks like it's only 90 days out now for ADRs???

Here's the other thing. If you're going to do more character meals, you may want to reconsider Poly. There is one there, a couple at GF, plus Contemporary, and 2 in MK. If you're going more for "fine" dining, I'd stay BC because you'll probably be at BC more. KWIM?

We usually only do one character meal, and it's the princesses at Epcot. In Nov though Ally and I are going to 1900PF. I think next time we go as a family we may try CM or Poly for character meal.

OMG did anyoone just hear about the stabbing on a Greyhound bus in Canada??? The guy just started stabbing the guy next to him and eventually decapitated him, the driver pulled over and everyone else ran off. Then the guy just calmly walked to the front of the bus holding the victim's head!!! What is with people????

:thumbsup2 I told him that. At BW we'd have Cape Char Meal, and the Germany one :rotfl2: Just kidding! but the rest would be a bit of a stretch. He's leaning toward Poly I think because after the first day of WAKEY WAKEY, Nicolas was in love with Stitch. I can understand that. At either rate, I'd be happy with either - but I'd prefer BC! ;)

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Not to be down on the economy, but I've been detached from News since Nicolas is watching Stitch on the DVR now. He was telling me that Wacovia was letting 7k people go. Seriously, that is pretty big. Carlos is actually a bit concerned about the economy. We even talked about various was to reduce spending - which in 10 years we've never talked about in conjunction with the economic position of the country.

My SIL went for her 36 week checkup and they did an ultrasound since she was measuring 42 weeks still. The ultrasound put the baby at 60%, so that is down from 90%, but they said the numbers are off not because of the baby, but because of the amount of fluid. We laugh (inside I'm worried because I remember that too much isn't good) and she said she is already +2 station and they want to check her Thursday because the head is so down. I google too much water - seems that it happens a lot because of an inability of the baby to swallow or heart defect. I am not telling SIL this, but of course now I'll be worried until she has Gabi.

I think the economy has everyone a little concerned. But gas is slowly coming down....

Jeff and I both notice the effects so much because he's in the car business, and I'm in a business that relies heavily on new construction and "luxury" purchases. The internet company I work for sells gas logs, gas grills, fireplaces, etc...

However, I'm noticing construction starting up again down here. Suddenly they have just cleared 3 new lots to begin building. I just think there were so many spec homes for sale that the builders had to unload some of those before they could start anything else. But on the positive side, the homes are beginning to sell again.
