what a good mom. I remember the Jonas Bros. being here at a local festival a year or so ago. I thought about taking beth but thought they would soon fade away. Boy was I wrong. Those colors on HM are messy. I will have to find 3d glassed to watch.

I just added one more day to the TR. yeah! only 3 months later. Who knows how long it will take for the last 2 days. :rotfl2:

You are a saint, Cammie! We saw the JB at the State Fair last year. It was CRAZY!! DH will have to be the one to take DDs to concerts. I have seen a few in my time, but have no desire to see anymore. I would much rather see them on TV. The last one I went to, I could see nothing because everyone stood up the entire time and the people in front of me were really tall. I had to watch on the screen almost the entire time! They're too loud! Geez, I sound like my mom!!!:scared1:

I have just fixed dinner for tonight, a stew in the crock pot. I know it's not exactly stew weather, but I had a craving, and couldn't resist the easiness of the crock pot cooking! It reminds me of football season. I love football Sundays, when the football sometimes keeps us home all day (that's happening less and less w/the girls getting older) and I cook a roast or brisket. I decided to let DH and the girls sleep and skip church. I have to pick up DD15 from her friend's house shortly, and when I talked to her this AM to tell her we weren't going to church, she reminded me that it was HER turn to go back to school shopping. I want to shop for ME!!!:snooty:

DD10 is wanting a lightweight jacket that costs $60! I just cannot bring myself to buy a lightweight jacket that costs that much for a 10 year old! Things get lost at school, and sometimes end up in the lost and found, but sometimes they don't. She is wanting to use her money and split it w/me. I would spend $30, but I still hate to see her have a SWEAT jacket/hoodie that is that expensive! I wouldn't even spend that much one one for myself! It's nothing, but it is the "cool skater brand". Uggh! I know that I just need to put my foot down, but when she's willing to spend her own money for it, I feel like I should, and maybe let her learn the hard way. I just had to vent!:headache:

Have a great Sunday, all!

:grouphug:
Pam2

P.S. Where's the "old Pam"?:lmao: I think I'm the old one!!!!:sad2:

How fun!! Where were the kiddos?

Where's your dad? Would it be a far move for you?

Tammie - I'm so glad that Mason did so well! We love OG! Taylor wants to go for lunch tomorrow, before we go on our back to school shopping trip, just the 2 of us. How good of you to be a foot rubber! That doesn't sound right! :rotfl2: How good of you to rub feet for a good cause!
:grouphug:

Hi Everyone! I was so busy yesterday - and so tired - I didn't check in. After I did some phone calls and deliveries, we had Miss Londynn's first birthday party! We did a princess party, with Cinderella as the main character! Lindsay ordered a separate Cindy cake for Londynn - she really enjoyed the frosting - in fact, she took a bath in it! :goodvibes She was quite confused when she took the doll out of the middle and it had no legs! :rotfl: I'll post pics later - good thing - it was at the park, so no clean up to do here - although I do have a ton of cleaning to do today! I'm skipping church because I have so much to do before this week - leaving for a retreat at the ocean on Thursday night.

We had a great time doing being "foot rubbers" :lmao: My partner Teresa set up since I was coming back from the hospital trip - she made our tent canopy into a nice spa area - bamboo curtains with curtains around the area, twinkle lights - flowers - we had some of those plastic Adirondack-like chairs for the clients to sit in, and we heated up water for them to soak in, and put shower gels in the water, then rubbed with sea salt scrub or sugar scrub - then put on a foot cream which they got to take with them. We charged $5 which we donated to ACS. We were booked solid every 20 min until midnight. Since we didn't have enough helpers, we had to quit then as our backs and hands were giving out. So it ended up not really all night, but that's okay, we were still appreciated.

Cammie, glad everything is going well for Amanda. How did it go with your DSIS? Hope you're having some time to relax today.

Pam, so nice to have you back. How did the school shopping go? I probably would do the jacket if she wants to split it. The one special item like that can boost self esteem at that age when some of the other kids have everything - KWIM? I am kind of sensitive to that subject - I went through some things at that age.

Tina, How was your pool party? Sounds like fun!

Laura, sounds like you had a great day with your hubby! Good for you - it is hard to make time for each other some times. :thumbsup2

Jillian, Wow - you might be moving. Why does your DH want to change jobs?

Renee
Hope you had fun with the girls!

Tessa, I used to fight with my DSIS like that all the time! We didn't grow out of it until I left home. I wish I knew the answer - my kids fought too.

Hi Kara, hope the beach was great!
Debbie, come back!!!
Hi Erin, Keahi, Pam H, Whip, everyone - I know I am missing alot of names, just having a "brain fart." sorry - hope you all have a great Sunday!

Hi Girls!
I miss you guys! I tried to catch up but please forgive me if I missed something. It is so hard to get to the computer these days!!! We are out and about all day. Our weather has been so great and then at night I am wiped out! I feel bad some of you got hit with some nasty weather. When it came my way I was in Wisconsin so I missed it at home.

Now I am jealous some of you are text messaging!! I NEVER text but want to learn. The problem is it's not included in my package. I think I can receive them for free but they are like $3 to send. NOW I want in! Then when I am in Wisconsin I can still bug you guys!!!!!!

Hey there-
I'm not a control freak, but I am getting tired of all the debating on the other threads. It's nice to finally have found a thread like this!!!!
Oh, and Debbie, don't worry about the gymbucks coupon. It couldn't be used with the gymbucks! I received it yesterday in my parenting magazine and thought..go figure, I was just there the day before! Then I read it and it is good until beginning of Sept, but not good with gymbucks or any other offer.
As for gas prices, I'm in Wisconsin and yesterday we were at almost 4.20 (don't remember the exact price, but new it was high!) Didn't see what it was today! Anything in the $3 would be awesome!! We haven't been below $4 all summer!

Glad you have joined us. Thanks for making me feel better about the coupon! I do feel better!!

Wellllll, I just got a flower delivery! They're so pretty and they're from Amanda and Lauren! And guess who they had take care of it for them?
Yep - my ex. We were married for 13 years and I never got flowers for my birthday; we're now divorced and he has to do it now because the girls MAKE him!Gotta love it!

That was nice! I am glad he came through for your girls. Hope your birthday was lovely!
BTW - Renee - tell that hubby of yours: now that he's a father, vacations are about doing what the kids would enjoy most; it's not about him anymore so tell him to suck it up and just endure the "hell of Disney" for a week!:thumbsup2

ITA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I tell my hubby this EVERY trip!

Oh my dear friends - I just received a delivery for Amanda!:goodvibes
It is so cute (I will take a picture and post later)! But the balloons are so colorful and certainly eye-catching. She will love them and I will be sure to bring them with us tomorrow - along with the very soft and cuddly teddy bear!
This was such a nice thing to do for her. Honestly, I consider you all to be such good friends and I really do hope to meet each and every one of you some day!:grouphug:

We just love you so much!!! We are CIF's. No one can understand!

I just sent you the list that Debbie sent out - I think it's only a partial list though. When is she due back anyway?
Cammie, did you read the latest from She? So sad...
Anyone watching Big Brother?

I still need to finish up the sheet.
I LOVE Big Brother!
I also LOVE "Do you think you can dance?" and was DEVASTATED that Will got sent home!

Hey - I emailed everyone. I just got back in from taking my mom to her vet. Very interesting story there.

However, I knew I'd be out of pocket most of the morning so I texted Cammie. She sent one back saying that Amanda was doing well. She came through okay and is resting comfortably now. :goodvibes

Knew you guys would all be curious. I've not read the board yet - so I'm not sure if someone else has already posted an update or not.

Thanks for the updates and for everyone keeping me in the loop even though I wasn't around!

Tina, I love the idea of a book club!!!! I just read "Fear" also. It was pretty good. Have you read any Lisa Unger? Also the thriller type. It doesn't matter how tired I am, I HAVE to read for at least 20-30 minutes each night. Plus, I love to take hot baths and read there, too, sometimes with a glass of wine. But I have to lock the door or I'll have company. Ally, the dog, Jeff. They all come in and bug me. Ally likes to sit on the side of the tub, dip her feet in, and talk nonsense. So much for the "relaxing" bath, huh?

I am embarrassed to say...but will admit...I don't read. I don't enjoy it at all and contribute it to the ADD I swear I have! On the other hand I WISH I was a better reader.

Look what I found!!!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Tammie - Glad to hear Mason did so well. Must be a huge relief for all of you!
And you're such a good person - giving foot massages for the walkers!:goodvibes

ME TOO!!! I am so glad he is all done.
Zac Efron! :faint:

You know my saying don't you? "The older and smarter I get; the younger and dumber I like them!"

LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sick & wrong but I have a gigantic crush on him!

I know! I look at my 12 year old and get jealous!:lmao:

I hear ya sista!

Hi Everyone.

Crazy weekend here and my laptop keeps freezing just as I am typing to all of you.

Tammie- Dh is a Paramedic he is becoming a Firefighter this would require him to take a job anywhere one is offered. He would receive retirement great bene's and a decent pay upgrade. Most towns require you to either reside in the town or within 30 mins they do not disclose this info upfront :confused3 I think it depends on their need at the time. So just more planning.

Good luck with all of that!!!

:rotfl:

I have a horrible fear of leaving my CPAP at home when we leave for Disney. I know that if I did that I would be a bear to deal with while there...Not to mention that I'd end up getting sick from lack of sleep.

97

Forgive me for post this now but I just started reading this thread. I love my CPAP and it is my DH new best friend too. I have traveled with it several times and now always put it in its orginal bag then place in my checked luggage. The first time I flew with it the security guy screamed out "we've got a CPAP over here", scared me to death. He advised that I check it next time....Just make sure it goes in first, followed by everything else. DH makes sure we have it more than I do :rotfl2:

I wanted to respond to this because I have a special needs child and fly with alot of her equipment. I strongly advise to NEVER put medical equipment or meds in checked luggage. It could get damaged during the flight - regardless of how well you think you've packed it; or worse, your luggage could get lost. If it's vital for you to have it at your destination, then you should keep it with you as a carry-on. Since it is medical equipment, it will not count towards your carry-on limit; trust me - I know! When we fly to Disney, I take a suction machine, sat. monitor; ventilator; and two carry-on bags with my daughter's medical supplies in them; security barely bats an eyelash!

So we're back from the pool party and honestly I don't understand DD9. She has lots of friends at dance, but we saw the same thing at the pool party that we see at school, DD9 doesn't play with anyone. It's very sad. She tries to join a group of girls, but they say, 'we don't want to play with you' so she plays by herself. It makes me cry because she's such a good friend and she'll play with everyone. She isn't bossy like some other girls can be and maybe that is what it is, that she doesn't let them push her around. I just don't know what to do. She joined this sport to build confidence and yet here we are watching her not connecting with anyone.

Does anyone have this problem or have suggestions? I posted a thread also because I'm really concerned about her being a loner and I don't want her to be depressed at age 9.

Pam, so nice to have you back. How did the school shopping go? I probably would do the jacket if she wants to split it. The one special item like that can boost self esteem at that age when some of the other kids have everything - KWIM? I am kind of sensitive to that subject - I went through some things at that age.

Glad Londynn's bday party was fun! Can't wait to see pics! The foot massages sound WONDERFUL! I could use one right now! I had to come home and get out of my damp clothes and into a bathrobe. It is so blasted hot out!! I am breaking for a bit, enjoying the cool air and being off my feet, then we will go to work out in a few. I don't want to! At least my dinner is already made!! I put a stew in the crock pot this AM!!:woohoo:

Shopping was good - JC Penney had a huge sale and I had a discount coupon. Megan got quite a bit of her stuff, but of course when we got home, Taylor is looking to see what Megan got, and make sure it wasn't more than SHE got. Taylor really wants that jacket, and I believe that you are right Tammie - I will let her put in a little bit of her money for it. Maybe she'll keep up w/it better that way! I do want my kids to feel like they fit in, but they just want SO MUCH, and it is so expensive, and is worn for such a short period of time, and sometimes lost at school - esp jackets. I told her I am taking her to get it tomorrow after work. I told them we'd continue the BTS shopping in a couple of weeks. We have awhile until school starts. I love back to school, the fall, football season, and getting ready for the holidays!! COOLER WEATHER!!!!!

Now I am jealous some of you are text messaging!! I NEVER text but want to learn. The problem is it's not included in my package. I think I can receive them for free but they are like $3 to send. NOW I want in! Then when I am in Wisconsin I can still bug you guys!!!!!!

Hi Debbie!!!!!!! I just started texting when my girls did, and I love it. It's a great way to communicate w/them when they're w/their friends, and I don't embarass them w/so many phone calls!

LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sick & wrong but I have a gigantic crush on him!

Not sick and wrong. Zac is just a cutie pie.

Tina - Is your DD just going thru a stage, or has she always preferred to play by herself? My oldest sometimes tends to be a loner sometimes, more so than my younger one who almost always has to be w/someone, is dependent on being w/others. She is more of a follower. Kids can be so cruel. I don't know what to say. We've dealt w/kids like that over the years, but I tell my girls that those kids are just having a bad day, or they are not worth their time, just to play with other kids, and when those mean kids are ready to play, mine may not want to play with them. It just breaks your heart when your kids feelings are hurt. I've wanted to beat up a couple of kids along the way!! It really makes you wonder how some people raise their kids to allow them to be cruel to others, but when you deal w/some adults, you can see how. I do always tell mine that if I hear that they treat others like that, I would be furious. It is not acceptable. I want to whip those girls into shape for you! Little snobs!!

I need to get out the door to go exercise. I just want to relax some more!!!

Hi everyone!! I haven't been on here in eons but Debbie knows I fit in here.

I'm sure most of you don't know me. There is no way I can go back and read everything.

Just wanted to stop by & say Hi.

Hi Becky!!
Long time no see!
How are you???
Any adventures on your end? Highway stories???
Disneyland Disney On Ice Is coming.................

Hey girls! Crazy day here today - some wild storms just rolled in bringing thunder and lightning. I do love those summer storms but, I'm with you, Pam, can't wait for the fall weather. "Sweater" weather is my favorite time of year for just about the same reasons as you: Sunday aft. football; oven-baked sunday dinners; pumpkins; crisp, clean air - Aahhh!:cloud9:

So I've been a little disgusted with myself lately; have not been working out much since the girls got out of school. I've gained weight and I really don't want it to get out of control. Especially after seeing my mom last weekend - man, if that's a glimpse of what I'm going to look like when I'm older, I need to do something about it NOW! So I'm committed to trying to eat better and take more walks with the girls; but what do I do today? I make fried chicken for dinner! I was craving it soooo badly!

what a good mom.

:rotfl2:

Try to watch the Hannah concert on STARZ; don't think it's in 3d and it looked much better. Those 3d glasses were a joke! And, I'll be sure to check back in with your TR! I'm pretty sure I'm going to start a pre-TR; I met alot of people on my past report and would like to stay in touch. It's fun!:)

Well, I survived the Hannah concert last Dec. and that was her AND the Jonas Bros.! Believe it or not, I was on my feet the whole time dancing with Lauren. I really do like her music! Now, I don't think I know as much JoBros. material, but this concert is smaller and outside, so hopefully we'll get a nice summer evening at least.

Uggh! I know that I just need to put my foot down, but when she's willing to spend her own money for it, I feel like I should, and maybe let her learn the hard way. I just had to vent!:headache:

I agree with Tammie on this one, Pam. Clothing gets to be such a big deal for girls as they get older - trust me, this is just the tip of the iceberg! At least, she's offering to pay half; and like you said, it may make her be more responsible with it. If she loses it - just say "Oh well!"

Hi Everyone! I was so busy yesterday - and so tired - I didn't check in. After I did some phone calls and deliveries, we had Miss Londynn's first birthday party! We did a princess party, with Cinderella as the main character! Cammie, glad everything is going well for Amanda. How did it go with your DSIS? Hope you're having some time to relax today.

Oh, I LOVE pictures of babies bathing in cake! You MUST post pix, please!

And, yes, Amanda is still doing great; I'm keeping her home from school for this last week though - then she'll be out for the summer. I just don't trust anyone at school to take as good of care of her as I would.;)

Hi Girls!
I miss you guys! I tried to catch up but please forgive me if I missed something. It is so hard to get to the computer these days!!! We are out and about all day. Our fearless leader has returned!:worship: And, get with it.......learn how to text! LOL!

Tina - How does your DD respond when these girls say those things? Does she get upset; or does she just accept it and move on? It must be heartbreaking for you to see; but, honestly, if those girls are that fresh, then you don't want DD hanging with them anyway! Of course, I'd want to go over and smack their faces for being such brats! Don't worry - I'm sure she'll find that friend that she clicks with; maybe the school can give you some insight as to who she hangs with?

Hi everyone!! I haven't been on here in eons but Debbie knows I fit in here.

I'm sure most of you don't know me. There is no way I can go back and read everything.

Just wanted to stop by & say Hi.

Hi Becky! I don't think I was on the thread when you were around alot; but I do recognize your sig. from here before. Welcome back!

I hear ya Cammie! Eating in the summer is just too fun!

I do NOT look forward to Fall! I LOVE summer and everything about it and I don't want Elizabeth to be in kindergarten!!!:guilty:
