Anyway, I keep telling him to keep it up. One day - he is going to get sent to work with itching powder in his underwear!

Goodnight~ I've finished cleaning and headed down to the bedroom - unfortunately for more cleaning down there.

Hi Ladies! I had a busy weekend and you all posted like a million pages  I finally caught up.

Jillian, I'm glad your cousin is doing well, BTW.

On biting: I think finding a way to deal with it depends on their personality. My oldest started at 13mo. (interesting his son is doing the same :goodvibes ) He first started coming up and biting my knees - I tried over reacting, but he thought it was funny. I tried putting him in "time out" kind of - nothing changed. I started holding his nose shut when he clamped down - that worked for me, but then he started biting the neighbor girl because he thought it was funny when she laughed. It took me several months to get him over it, and I actually took my mom's advice about what she did with me, and bit him. I don't know if I think that is the answer, but it worked. It was a good 6 months of angry neighbors before he stopped.

Lovin' all the resort pics! Thanks Renee and Debbie! I think SAB looks great! I'm looking forward to getting the preferred view at BWV - I hope - the CM said I shouldn't have any trouble. Cammie, did you see that the booking window changed? :yay: Anyway, it only costs 2 points more to have the preferred or water view, the same points I use for SSR.

Debbie, it's so nice to have you back! You know just when you figure out how to deal with that stuff, your kids will try something new! It's all about survival, baby! :rotfl2:

Renee! Sounds like you picked a place, you picked a time, now you get to PLAN! That's the fun part for us WWs! All the talk about restaurants has me re-thinking my "resort hopper" meals. I think we will miss out on some great meals in the parks. Maybe we should eat some TS in the parks and CS at the resorts? Now you have ME doing it!

Hi Laura! Sorry your date night turned into fight night! :sad2: We don't get much time alone with our hubby's - it stinks when we are having a bad day, doesn't it.

Hi Tina, Keahi, Tessa, Erin, Pam - sorry, I know I wanted to answer some things, but I was so behind, I forgot some of it!

OMG! Do you know how long it's been since I've eaten a Twinkie??? Oh, lustrous sponge cake with creamy white filling. I could eat an entire box in one sitting! I remember seeing an old man (like in his 90's!) on Johnny Carson years ago, who ate a Twinkie every night before bed since he was like 6 years old. I think it's the new Fountain of Youth!

Now I'm hungry. Not really, but I've got the munchies.....

OMG! Do you know how many preservatives are in Twinkies? I saw an article once - they found a stash 10 yrs old somewhere and they were still good! Okay, ruining the fun with that health stuff - all the bad stuff tastes the best, right?

OK, goofball, no French food at Le Cellier - it's Canada!!! Norway/Germany - France/Canada - boy, we need to get you an atlas! :rotfl2: Le Cellier is a steakhouse and it's wonderful!

Hey! Has anyone heard of French Canadians :confused3 I read her post, and thought LeCellier might have French food, too! :rotfl2: Renee, are you blond like me?

I'm not sure she'd like the flamenco dancers in Germany!:rotfl2:

Sorry, Renee, I couldn't resist!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

As for pricing, if you do DDp, price is not an issue at TS restaurants, which is why we don't do a lot of character meals. Jeff's all about getting the most bang for his buck, and buffets don't do it for him. That's why we're doing Raglan Road, Chefs de France, and Tutto Italia in September. He's a food snob! :lmao:

I know what you mean about PUblix loading up on meat and cheese when you order - I never knew they did this until a couple of weeks ago. I love the service at Publix, just hate the high prices!

OK, off to eat - it's storming like a mother bear right now! Grilled chicken salads with toasted sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, gorgonzola cheese, mandarin oranges. Yum!

Ooh, that salad sounds great! Kara, did you guys do deluxe DDP? I noticed that alot of the TS restaurants from before are now "signature" meals, which means that you need 2 credits. I am pretty disappointed in how many of them are now. Flying Fish, I think Tutto, Narcosee's to name a few. I'm trying to talk Jim into going Deluxe this time so we don't have to figure anything out, but he's afraid we'll overeat! We need a smiley of someone pigging out, like the drinking one!

Kara, three questions from before - what did you decide about your bedroom? And from my TR - which resort were you thinking of when you asked what it looked like? The wall paper and bedspreads reminded me of GF, but then the Mickey sconces I wasn't sure of...and the Early American furniture in the Living Room reminded me of BWV.... Maybe I was overthinking :confused3

3. Did they find the monkey? :scared1:

ugly_dog

See - isn't he one sicko???? EHHH! You'd think I was living with someone who was in college! He had it all stretched out on the Desktop too, so you can imagine how that was, opening the computer and seeing that picture! He keeps telling me he'd love to put me on scare tactics. I"m do not enjoy being scared, scarey movies, none of that, but he thinks doing things like this to me are funny! NOT FUNNY!

At this point I just want to know where is the girliest place to eat at WDW and tell him to suck it up for that nasty dog picture!!! For that matter, he is going at LEAST 4 nights!!!!!

Okay, that deserves the Princess Breakfast at Askerhaus in NORWAY or CRT for sure! :thumbsup2

Hey! Has anyone heard of French Canadians :confused3 I read her post, and thought LeCellier might have French food, too! :rotfl2: Renee, are you blond like me?

Dark blond - according to my stylist - :rotfl:

WE did rack up when we used the DDP at WCC, so I can imagine that would be the same, but I'm telling you, for me, even the small dining plan was more food than I'd normally have had if I were paying out of pocket. And honestly, I hated having to still tip anyway and pay for things that were outside the plan - I just sort of felt like what is the point? Plus all those snack credits were hard to use for us... Don't you get two on the Deluxe DP?

Jillian - thanks for having my back. Off now. Goodnight everyone!

Well summer is definitely here at my house - DD9 has an inner ear infection - that's right no going under water for her for a few days. I don't think we've had a summer without an ear infection since we've gotten the pool. I can't wait to see what type of day she has since she LOVES going under the water and it's going to be HOT today.

I'm having problems finishing the curtains for her room too. I know curtains are the easiest thing, but for some reason I can't stay inspiried to get them done. I'm just doing a simple puff valance and then a shear, what's wrong with me!! I've got to finish, she's taken down her princess curtains so her window is bare and I can't stand to look at the shade alone.

Hope everyone has a happy Tuesday!!

Good Tuesday Morning!

Tina - you crack me up "curtains are the easiest things" - what? I've been looking at bare windows in my family room and kitchen since we moved in - it's all painted now and ready for window treatments but I can't figure out how to do it. I think I'm going to make a cornice board valance for the big kitchen window, just need Jeff to cut the wood for it, then I'm doing a neat little valance for over the sink - it's individual triangles, stitched together at the points, with bows tied where they're stitched together. Looks cute. Then in the family room, my girlfriend gave me a great idea. Because it's a 2 story room with windows running up the whole wall, I think I'm gonna BUY solid color drapes, then take out the hem and attach patterned fabric to the bottom so the lower 3/4 will be the pattern. All I have to do is find the pattern I want, then buy the solid color drape to match. I've seen that style in a lot of decorator magazines so I'll be cutting edge! :rotfl2: I know, if I can pull this off, I really will feel like the CFWW Martha!

Renee - what? you didn't like that cute little Fido picture? :rotfl: That has got to be the ugliest dog ever!!!! In fact, it kinda looks like our resident monkey!

Tammie - For our bedroom, I've decided on black furniture, probably a 4 poster bed - Jeff wants me to run sheers around it at the top to give it an islands feel. Then we've got the palest blue paint, white beadboard around the lower 1/3 of the walls. Then I found the prettiest matelasse coverlet - it's white with blue toile running through it. And a blue/white striped ticking bedskirt. Then I'm going to frame black/white beach and ocean photos in black or white frames for the walls. But that project is definitely on the back burner for now. We may do the paint and beadboard, but the furniture is on hold.

I haven't heard any more about the monkey so I don't know if he was ever caught. He's probably just packed up and moved into the woods behind our house. It sounds like it sometimes, but it's just the frogs - they are soooo loud after it rains (which is almost every day now). And of course we get them in our patio. I can hardly wait until they get the kitchen done so they can close in the end of the screen and finally keep all the critters out!

Oh, just heard the Southwest Ding! so I need to go check airfare to visit my parents this summer!

Wow Girls Slow morning.

I have to say I really do get annoyed at these boards some times. I was over on the community board and there was a thread about not having an open bar at a wedding.I got really angry because someone said they take some cash out of the gift envelope when there is a cash bar and that people should not have events they cannot afford. I don't understand that since the Hall said a cash bar was what almost everyone does.

I had a cash bar at our wedding. I provided red and white wine on the tables and coffee tea and water. I guess Soda to I am not really sure. Is that tacky? I have never been to a wedding with an open bar.
You opinions?

Hey Jillian! No, not tacky at all. The ONLY reason we had an open bar is because both Jeff and I worked at the golf course where we had our reception. The owner LOVED me! Jeff, not so much! :rotfl2: But by the time we got married, my dad was retired and working out there as a ranger. So the owner gave us EVERYTHING at cost! So while we were originally planning to offer red/white wine, soft drinks, and draft beer, everything else cash bar, it allowed us the opportunity to open the bar for everything. Get this, we had about 80-100 guests at our wedding. At one point in the evening, the bar bill was showing $2000 - Jeff's dad was sweating cause he had agreed to split the bar bill with my dad. But when it was all said and done, our entire reception, which included a 3 entree buffet and open bar, was less than $4K. I think the bar total came out to be around $800 - just goes to show you what kind of markup there is in alcohol at a private event like that.

I've been to big fancy weddings, and weddings where there was no reception, just cake and punch, and it should totally be what the bride/groom want and can afford. The biggest wedding I went to was in Canada, at the 4 Seasons resort, and it was FANCY! But it was also very cold, kwim? The best wedding I went to was in Indiana, right outside Chicago. It was a Catholic wedding and the reception was in the church basement. But they had beer/wine at the bar, nice buffet, and the best DJ known to man! It was a real party and I remember (what little I DO remember!!! :lmao: ) it was a blast!

I keep checking in, and it does seem slow today! I'm even slow at work (hope I didn't just curse myself!). But tonight Ally and I are going shopping while Jeff is at the sale, gonna get some fabric and start making curtains tomorrow. I'm sooooo excited! Window treatments just bring a room together and I've been waiting a long time to get this done!

I'd say it is a slow day. Debbie are you okay??? bad mom moment. Our neighbors who have a pool are in it right now and Beth wanted to go in, so I sent her to ask if we could join them they said sure. They also volunteered to watch beth while I got the groceries put away. Okay no so bad but I do feel bad pawning my kid off on somone else. Granted these people love my kids to death! They are considering adopting so they can have younger ones in the house. I'd better get moving. It's HOT outside today, 102 in my truck. I know it reads a little warm but that is HOT!

I think I see the HGTV crew out back! It's an episode of "House Hunters" and there's a short fat couple named Arnie and Amy ARMADILLO!!!! Looks like they're trying to choose a yard to dig up!!! I hate those ugly fat little things! And they totally destroy our yard! Bucky spotted them out in the woods and believe it or not, he did not chase after them. I kept watching him inch further into the woods until I called him. That's when I spotted my newest neighbors. AARRGGHH!!!!

cool then we could really see what all of your drama was about.

Back from the pool. Beth and Katherine are slowing becoming chocolate colored. There is no ethnic blood in Tim or I whatsoever. I really am putting sunscreen 45 waterproof on these girls. One of thes days I will have to photograph it.

Hi guys! Quick stop by for now. I just got in from Amanda's pre-op appt. in Boston; I was told to expect it to take 2-2 1/2 hours - well it took over 4 HOURS! We left at 9:15 this morning and got back at 4pm. I'm so freakin' tired!!!! Seriously, I have sheer body exhaustion. Amanda was a trooper though - had blood drawn;EKG; x-rays - she did fine. Felt bad for Lauren; I don't usually drag her to these things but I knew I could really use the help so I told she had to come. Promised we'd grab some lunch when we were done - which I THOUGHT would be around 12:30. Nope, didn't finish with the hospital business unti 2:30; the poor thing was starving!

I'll catch up with what I missed later and check back in. Hope everyone had a good day!

Okay - for the ear have you tried the OTC Swimmers Ear after she swims? My friend has a pool and that is what her ped recommended to use each day after being underwater. :confused3 As for curtains, it is really hard to motivate me - but since i don't sew.... a little bit easier! :rotfl2:

Jillian, I'm the same as Kara - and in fact Carlos & I were in college for our wedding. We were broke! We had to pay for the wedding, so we rented out a historic mansion (ie - ran down southern building :rolleyes1 ) that was beautiful, our reception was - get this - BBQ, fixins, and Cake - drinks were Champagne Toast (and it was the CHEAPEST stuff we could find, so you can imagine how it tasted! :rotfl: ) and Champagne Punch fountain (heavy on the punch). :lmao: :rotfl2: We had a burnt CD with music, but BIL pittied us and hired a harpist for the ceremony part. All in all, very cheap - but I think everyone knew the situation and seemed very cool with it. Now my SIL got married at Ceasers in Vegas - they provided wine/soft drinks/etc and had a cash bar. That is what they told her most do too - so I'd not give it a second thought. I'm sure you had people at the wedding who loved you and appriciated being a part of your celebration - and could have cared less one way or the other if the bar was cash or not!

I'd say it is a slow day. Debbie are you okay??? bad mom moment. Our neighbors who have a pool are in it right now and Beth wanted to go in, so I sent her to ask if we could join them they said sure. YOU MUST take a pic!

Sorry to hear for the rough day for everyone. Hopefully you can get a good restful evening in!

Long day here. I decided the task of the day after the playdate was to weed. I hate that. I did it for 3 hours, and still only managed to get half of our back patio area done. I sware some were almost tree size! I guess it is going to be a multiple day project - lovely!

As for the grungy dog pic - I put up the one of BC at night. Let's see if it works as a "gentle" suggestion. I'm ready to start going through and figuring out how to put my book together.

I am so proud of myself tonight! I just moved our internet router to a different computer - all by myself! Since my company now routes the phone calls through our home phone, I can get rid of the big clunky office phone, and I don't need the router by me to plug the phone into, so I moved it upstairs to the puter up there, so now I can use the internet connection in my office for, what else? The TV! So now I can veg even more during the day!

There is the strangest smell on our patio - smells like turpentine. I checked the gas under the grill and it's turned off, but I don't know what it is. It's right by the house, but not IN the house. I don't know if they came and did some work on the patio this evening? Oh, well, I'll let Jeff figure it out. Probably some mating scent of some new Amazonian creature! :rotfl2:

Got Ally a backpack and lunchbox for school - last year we waited until the week before school started and all the "good" ones were gone. She wanted a Camp Rock messenger bag and lunchbox, but I talked her into Hannah for the messenger bag. It's a little more girlie, at least. I found one that was a pink/white flower on the outside, with a lime green fabric onthe inside and the trim. I would have gotten it monogrammed in lime green, so cute and girlie, but she wouldn't have it. Get this, she told me, with these pitiful eyes as I was begging her to get it, "Mommy, I'm just not feelin it." :rotfl2: Oh, what's next!!!

Cammie, so sorry your day was so long! What kind of surgery is Amanda having (if it's something you want to discuss, if not, I TOTALLY understand!)?

Renee, just remember, as soon as you get all those weeds out, it'll be time to start at the beginning again! I hate weeding! It never goes away!

Laura, Ally is the same way with her tan. I put on 45 every day, and the guys and gals that work at the camp are very dilligent about applying sunscreen to the kids, too. But she looks very hispanic this summer - with bleached blonde hair! I'd give anything for her highlights!

Jillian, seriously, why do you bother with what some people say over on those boards? You've got us and you know we'll be honest with you, but we always agree! ;)

Tina, I went to JoAnn's I had her cut the fabric - 10 yards at 14.99/yard and 40% off baby - and at 8 1/2 yards there was a seam! So I couldn't get it. I'm frazzled now. It was cheap, it was the perfect colors and pattern, and the perfect weight. And I know I could have matched it with solid color drapes. The others I like ar like $29.99/yard and even at 40% off it's gonna be a lot of money! Now I'm thinking maybe I should buy the drapes first and then match to that. Oy vey!

Tammie, really loving your TR - I'm anxious to see so much more of DL!

OK, to BBB or not to BBB in November? Ally really wants to do it again, but it's $45! I guess I could do it and not tell Jeff (like most of my other shopping!), and it would be fun before 1900 ParkFare (where we will be seeing Jillian and the Badookster!). I'm thinking I could pretty much do it myself, I paid close attention last time. The only thing is that her hair is shorter now so I don't know if I have the right gel to hold it in place. Oh, what a dilemma! :rotfl:

Debbie, Tessa, Erin, Pam, Keahi, where are you???

Oh Martha I am sure you will figure it all out. Trust me we can meet in Epcot as planned and have a drink. Spoil that baby girl she will only be young once and these memories are something she will treasure.

As for fabrics see if there is a store local to you and have the measure it out Or maybe you can order it online?

Karajeboo - you have totally turned me off from ever moving to FL!! Our first incident with an armadillo was at Disney Fort Wilderness campgrounds to be exact. We were walking from the boat dock to our trailer after seeing the fireworks. The girls were totally pumped about the colors and the lights and then we hear this strange noise. I thought it was Jacob Marley coming from the grave dragging his chains down the walkway. :scared1: We all turn our flashlights and it's an armadillo. I thought DD5 was going to jump on my shoulders she was so scared of it. Let's see; you've got copperhead snakes, scorpions, pametto bugs and armadillos. Yup, no matter how big I love the MOUSE, he can't make me get over those things!

So I've done nothing with the curtains. They are now in a ball on the floor on top of my sewing machine. However I think I'm going to make myself a skirt with fabric I bought to make a top. :headache: The madness never ends.

OH, other great news. DH found ANOTHER mysterious charge on our Disney VISA credit card!!! This one clearly not ours!! Someone ibought $40 worth of Children's Art in FL on June 5th and it definitely wasn't us because we were up here in MA!! This is the second time we're going to have to cancel the card because someone charged something on our Disney VISA card and it wasn't us. This time at least it wasn't too much money, the last time was $600 out of Taiwan. If it wasn't for the reward points I'd say screw the card.

DID YOU CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT LATELY!!

Hiya all -just a quick fly by...... still busy busy busy - school ends tomorrow though...

Party for DD(6 now) was great, all girls so lots of fun and dancing and crafts and pizza and cake and chocolate -why don't people run parties like that for us grown-ups!!!!!!!!!

And I am soooo envious of you with the armadillos - I am fascinated by the little creatures!! We hoped to see them when we went over - wrong season apparently?? Is there really an "armadillo season"?? Saw some in September/October time before though - but they were all flat!! On the side of the roadways...

Anyhow, got to go supervise some kids - sunny times at the minute......

Tessa

Good morning! Just got Amanda on the van for school (she goes through end of July) and I seriously think I'm going back to bed. Had to check in my buddies first though!:goodvibes

Kara - Amanda is having extensive oral surgery on Tues - 12-13 teeth have to be extracted and some gums cut!:scared1: Some of the seizure meds she was on when she was younger causes overgrown gums; therefore she has a lot of baby teeth that are not falling out, not attached to a root but just stuck in her gums. I'm surprised we lasted this long w/out needing the surgery because these situations usually lead to infections. We're going in now to avoid that. My poor baby though - can't even imagine how horrible this is going to be!:sad2: But I'm sure her teeth have been bothering her for a while so hopefully when all is said and done, it will bring her alot of relief.

As for BBB, just a suggestion. Why not go to the GF hair salon like I did and get the half-braid. It is a little more - $55, but it lasts for weeks! (Lauren STILL has hers in; she wants to show her cousins this weekend and then it will be time to take them out). The CM also sprays the pixie dust in their hair. Obviously you don't get the make-up and nails that BBB does, but at least the hairdo can last for a couple of weeks - maybe you'll feel like you're getting your money's worth.

Also remember - we're supposed to be in MK that day (Sat.) also. But we have dinner ADRs at LeCellier that night, so I'll probably be leaving the park by 3:30-4pm. If we can't meet that afternoon, I'll be around the Epcot area for most of the day on Sunday since our flight doesn't leave until 7pm.

Tessa - Glad to hear the party went well. I keep forgetting your girls are still in school - when do they start back in the fall?

Tina - That's scary about the credit card. I always check my statements - even though I hate looking back over at all the damage I've done. Did you use your DisneyVisa at Disney when you were there? Evidently there was a CM who was arrested for using guest's credit cards; there was a flyer in our room at the WL telling us to NEVER give our cc info over the phone and that a CM would NEVER ask us to.

Hi Jillian, Tammie, Renee, Debbie, Laura, and where is everybody else?

That's crazy!!! I can't believe this has happened to you TWICE!! I had this happen to my debit card - Jeff noticed a charge on our bank statement, to a Bloomingdales in Garden City, NJ. Never been there. BOA was so nice though and disputed the charge but guess what? Come to find out, the charge was made by swiping my card - how you ask? Apparently when I gave the card to someone, probably at a restaurant where they walk away with it, they swipe it into a little device that downloads all my info. Then they reprint the card with MY number, all MY info, but someone else's name on it. And they sell the cards like that. I saw the signed receipt from Bloomies with my number on it. Weird.

Tessa

Hey, Tessa! Glad the party went well! I think the reason we don't have pizza cake and chocolate at our parties as adults is because we've replaced those things with beer and wine!

Armadillo season!!!! :rotfl2: I guess if there is such a thing it would be in the winter, since they begin nesting in January. I saw a ton of them last year right after Christmas. But now suddenly I'm seeing them again. Oh, joy!

OK, ladies, happy Hump Day!
