Hahahahahaha ok this GFATP is sooo far from that stereotype it's untrue .. thankfully though i am above the people on how clean is your house :lmao: I am somewhere in between the 2 i always have a cuppa on the go in my house but never ready for company at a moments notice, more " aah someone's coming round" then quickly shoving everything in every cupboard (that's not already full of stuff) :lmao:

Erin - I'm so with you on this one.... we also drink a lot of tea, but my house is a bit of a tip - kitchen and loo always sparkle, but the rest gets hidden beneath an ever increasing mountain of clutter.... I just take the view that anyone who looks like they disapprove doesn't get invited back....;). I hate it when people just turn up on my doorstep - if I ask someone back for a cuppa after the school run, then you can be sure I hoovered yesterday...

eeeeeekkkkkk - just found a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng hair under my chin - I'm officially in the old lady club now I guess.... at 44??

Tessa

okay I have crossed into the nutty room. I just bought a security system. The sex offender thing really pushed me over the edge. Is $30/month a lot for a security charge?

Think of it this way -- it works out to $1 per day... In that perspective, that's really not a lot...

Hi Girls.....
Didn't ya wonder were I went!? You know I count on you guys to miss me!!! No one else would!:worried: :lmao:

GFATP...you were chatty! Glad all is well.
Scrap bookers...I am famous for BUYING all the stuff and NEVER making any stuff! How sad is that!!!!!
Listen....one of the dumbest moves on my part was at Christmas time Michaels had a door buster for that Circuit machine for like 99.00. I called a couple hours after they opened that morning to see if they still had any and they laughed in my face! I can't believe I missed that boat. It would be a great gift for my Mom (that I could mooch) so if anyone ever hears of a good deal let me know.

Good luck with the Ebay Renee! Good for you! Again, I do more talking about posting than actually doing it. Do you guys know how much crap I could list? OMG Can you say "Hundreds of Hefty bags full"!!!

The weather has been great here and so we have been doing a lot of backyard pooling (which means I have to be attentive).
Yesterday we decided to BUY a washer instead of having the repair guy out because like the washer it wasn't going to be worth it to pay for service when it would be half the cost of a new product. I actually washed a few things by hand yesterday:headache: . Thank God I don't live in the dark ages! Now I have to either wait or do more since the washer won't be here until Monday......who knows what time.

We are in town until next week Wednesday. We always go to the summer home for the 4th. That drama has been put on the back burner since it would be an idiotic time to sell anyway. My Mom will see my Aunt today. Hopefully I get some good news. We are very close to this side (family) so I want it to all work out.

Debbie, true story (does not involve reptiles!) - I had a roomie in Chi town who claimed that her "uncle" was a big mob boss, head of the Chicago syndicate. She was VERY Italian to the point that I couldn't understand her dad on the phone when he called. I never met him though cause of all the stories she told me I was afraid I'd get "whacked!"

She probably WAS connected!:rotfl2:

Hey, I got me one of those sparklee signatures, too....
:thumbsup2

Yeah! Look at my siggie!!!! 0 DAYS!!!

Bye everyone! Miss Me!!!

Yeah you! Have a great birthday tomorrow! How fun! Drive safe!!!!!!

OMG!!! This is hilarious! Maybe I'll use this in my siggie every time I post a recipe! :rotfl2:

breemickeyhead.jpg

Very funny! You don't remind me of her though because you don't care what people think:thumbsup2 plus she's crazy! You are just TALENTED like her!!!
Plus she's always hiding something......Kara.....are you hiding something??????

Laura...if the security makes you feel better it's worth EVERY penny!!!

I know there is a sex offender web site where you can see where they all live and I remember thinking they are EVERYWHERE! So sad!!!

Hi Whipperwhirl...thanks for the heads up on the website!

I do feel VERY sorry for Pam and Cammie! Cammie first since I think Pam was lucky enough to do 10 nights (yes I am jealous).....I hate when the trip is over!

I see Cammie's home (remember I stalk you guys with my Buddy List)!

Welcome home! We missed you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to hear ALL about it!

And now........the depression sets in.

Hi girls! We're back - got in late last night. We had a great time but are exhausted!!!! (it's 11:30 and Lauren is still asleep!) Didn't get back to the room once before midnight the whole week. But, man, was it HOT! And crowded! Being there has totally validated my reasons for taking the girls during the school year. It would have been brutal if I had Amanda there at this time. Anyway, we managed to do most of what we wanted - used the fast passes and EMHs to our advantage.

The ex is picking up Lauren this afternoon and then bringing both girls back tomorrow night - so I'll have plenty of time to play here and post. I'm determined to write a TR and I have over 300 pix to share (well, maybe not all 300!) So I'll be back later!

Missed you guys!

Oh! I hate seeing my ticker with Tinkerbell flying past the castle!:(

I know I'm very fortunate to have another trip to look forward to in four months but I sooooo hate that this trip is already over!

Erin - I'm so with you on this one.... we also drink a lot of tea, but my house is a bit of a tip - kitchen and loo always sparkle, but the rest gets hidden beneath an ever increasing mountain of clutter.... I just take the view that anyone who looks like they disapprove doesn't get invited back....;). eeeeeekkkkkk - just found a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng hair under my chin - I'm officially in the old lady club now I guess.... at 44??

Tessa

OK, this cracks me up - first the hair - yikes! You're too funny, Tessa!

And the "loo" and "cuppa." Ah, we speak the same language, and yet so different!

Debbie - Of course I missed you!!! But figured you had a good reason for being away! Enjoy the summer house and hopefully all will work out!

And YES, of course I'm hiding something! Like crap under my bed, shoved in cabinets, closets, garage!!! I've cleaned like a madwoman and the house is sparkling right now. Every inch! But Jeff is a dead man when he gets home tonight. Watch the news, you might see me in handcuffs!!! :rotfl2: I asked him to help me get ready for our friends visit this week, right? They get in today (any time now) and he asked if he could go fishing today. I told him as long as he helped me all week long, so I didn't have much to do today. Well, he waited until last night to do the stuff I asked him to do. Then did 1/2 of it and only did it half *ssed! So I spent another 5 hours this morning busting my hump to get it looking good. Not my fault he waited til the last minute - it's not like he just found our yesterday we were having company! MEN!!!!!! :furious:

Laura - I think $25-30/mo is about average, plus, if you do sell, that's a nice feature to list. A lot of people are looking for that. We have a security system installed but we don't have it activated. It just chimes loudly anytime a door or window is opened, so that's all I need. The chime is in our bedroom, and the laundry room, so it would definitely wake me up in the middle of the night if anyone tried to get in. And like Keahi said, $1/day for peace of mind? Sounds good to me!

Cammie, Cammie, Cammie. I'm so sorry! If it makes you feel any better, we missed you! So glad you had a good time and I'm excited to see pics and hear all the details!!!! popcorn::

Since we have out of towners all week, I probably won't be on much in the evenings, but I'm working Mon-Wed so I'll chat with you ladies then!!!!

Hopefully the judge will go easy on me.... :rotfl2:

In the middle of downloading a load of pix and organizing into different albums; but I wanted to give you all (or whoever is around today!) at least one for now.........

Our first walk down Main Street and first pose in front of the castle:

LOVE the pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(I have that shirt)
Can't wait for more. So sorry your trip is over:(

Kara...I'm gonna miss you(when you are entertaining)!

Didja get all your ADRs???? :thumbsup2

Cammie - love the pic!!! Lauren looks so excited! The park doesn't look too bad crowd-wise either? Waiting for more.....

:woohoo: Deep Breath - in and out - in and out - ADR mission complete.

I was able to make most of my ADR only a couple of slight modifications in the "Grand Plan" but I think Im coping OK.

One of the big changes I made was switching from CRT dinner on my daughters B-Day to a late lunch ADR instead. The CSR talked me into it because the birthday hoopla is more "magical", more characters. I then booked Park Fare for a late dinner to compensate for the dinner hole (wasnt even planning that one - for a control freak like me it was unusual to go on the fly like that). I got BBB resies at 8 am for that day so Im a happy girl. We are hopefully also going to have a "gifts of a lifetime scavenger hunt" for her on that day - now Im thinking late am - so that ought to be one super day.

Im really trying to "make our own magic" for this trip because Ive heard so many horrible things about lines and transport 12/26-01/03. I booked the pirate cruise for one morning - couldnt get the adventures in cooking because they are discontinuing the experience. I would like to book some more child "experiences" but I wasnt able to think on the fly with those. Now I have to research some more - see what fits in with our resies . . .

Dining Plan Deluxe ADR list in No particular order:
CRT (Aforementioned Lunch)
Crystal palace
Boma (x2 Breakfast and Dinner)
Jiko (nervous about this one)
Tusker house
Whispering Canyon
Chef Mickey Dinner (first night to get us in the mood)
Park Fare (x2 Breakfast and Dinner)
Le Cellair
Brown Derby Fantasmic (NYE!)
Akershus
H&V (I know but my son is 4 and he will love it)
Artists point
Liberty Tree Tavern
Coral Reef (Tradition)
California Grill
50's prime time cafe

All 96 credits are booked - Now I just need to reserve a super duper B-day Cake to be delivered at Park Fare and find another special Kids activity and alot of the pressure will be off. Whew.

BTW - I just found out last night my older sister is pregnant with - get this - her 5th child. Is she nuts or what.

Im just glad shes not due in the summer - she insists on having a seperate B-day parties - one for each kid - 4 seperate saturdays in the summer. I have one giant B-day party combined for both my kids - then we do something super as a family of 4 for their individual B-Days - so as not to book up my families Saturdays. I wish I could convince her to do the same but I guess I cant control everything . . .

Good morning ladies! It's day 2 of my post-vacation blues. I miss being there so much! I think I have a problem.

Whip - Welcome to the thread! Always happy to hear our friendly little group here is growing. Your ADRs sound wonderful. I know that's a busy time of year for going so congrats on getting such good ones. I may have missed this because I haven't read through all the previous posts, but is this your first time? Disney is so beautiful during the holidays - you're going to love it!

My ex told me that things worked out well here at home so I'm already thinking of making this an annual trip for Lauren and I. Do I dare start looking into dates now? Lauren turns 13 in March - would love to do a trip around then; but that would involve missing more school. Don't think that would be the responsible thing to do.

I'll do a brief summary of our trip in the next post.

So here's a quick summary of our trip; I'll be doing a trip report, so if you want more details and pix, you'll just have to subscribe to it! :snooty:

We arrived on Sunday afternoon and it was pouring! Got to WL by 2pm, checked out the resort, had lunch, then got into our room. Lauren was absolutely bouncing off the walls - she was so excited! It was really great to see! Also - we got our very first towel animals! Been going for 8 years now, and have NEVER had towel animals before!

The rain had stopped but it was still overcast. We took the boat over to MK and then hopped onto the monorail to the GF - I was taking Lauren to the salon to get her hair braided. Here's some pix:

DSC02537-1.jpg
DSC02539-1.jpg

Seriously, this hairstyle worked out GREAT for the week! It was sooo hot and Lauren really didn't have to fuss with her hair. We got stopped by so many people who wanted to know where we had it done. So glad we did it.

Then it was on to MK for pm EMH. This night was truly the key to the vacation being such a success. For some weird reason, the park was pretty empty. It was pouring again so I'm guessing people just left. We hit Tomorrowland for a few rides; then went over to Tony's for dinner. By the time dinner ended, the rain had stopped but it was still a little muggy. Regardless, we had a glorious time! Stayed at the park until 1:45am - we rode every single ride - many more than once. Don't think we waited more than 10 minutes for anything. I was so surprised how empty it was. Again, this night was key for us - considering that we were able to ride everything we wanted, it didn't matter as much later in the week when it was really crowded and we didn't want to wait on long lines.

Day 2 had us sleeping in until around 10 and then heading to the pool for the day; on to DTD in the evening for shopping and dinner at Ragland Road (which was AWESOME, BTW; Erin - great recommendation!:thumbsup2 ) I'll have pix of all this in my TR. We got back to the resort by 11pm and Lauren wanted to go night swimming. Since we've never done this before, I said what the heck! So -- we stayed out swimming until midnight.

Needless to say, we were too tired to get up for rope drop at MK on Tues. Again, I wasn't too worried about this because we had already done so much at MK. I had hoped to meet up with Pam on this day but it never worked out. We talked a few times on the phone but she seemed to be spending the first part of her day in Fantasyland; while Lauren and I were working the FP system on the big rides in Adventureland and Frontierland. By 1pm, we were incredibly hot and it was incredibly crowded - we wanted out of there! Tried calling Pam one more time but never heard back from her; so we went back to WL and spent a few relaxings hours in our dark air-conditioned room. Headed out again in the pm to Epcot for dinner at France (another good meal). PM EMH was very crowded here - no FPs available for any of the big rides. Waited an hour for Soarin - wasn't too bad since we met a really nice family from Chicago in front of us. Talking w/them made the time go quicker.
Again - back to the resort after midnight.

Day three had us at DHS. Went right to Toy Story Mania. Got a FP and then waited to ride stand-by; sign said 50 minutes, more like 80! But this ride is SO MUCH FUN!!!!!! We rode it three times this day - really worked the FP right. Again, this park had PM EMH and it was really crowded! It started to pour mid-afternoon; we headed to YC for dinner at Yachtsman (they remembered my birthday!). Then back to DHS for the later Fantasmic show - scored third row seats - front center!:thumbsup2 It rained during the whole show but we had our ponchos on so no biggie.

Thursday we went to AK. We're not big into the thrill rides so the only thing we were interested in was Kali River Rapids. (Lauren & I wanted to just do the things we can't do when we have Amanda, so we left most of the shows for our Nov.trip) Rode KRR three times - got soaked to the bone!!!! Back to the resort and jumped into the pool for a few hours. This day, a really bad storm came in - loud thunder and lightning and pouring rain. Took a cab to the BW and hung out there until it was time for me to check-in for our flights (6:35), then went over to Epcot for dinner in Canada (Yummy again). This was another PM EMH and it wasn't too bad - again, I think alot of people left because of the weather. We rode TT for the first time - and got to do it three times in a row - minimal waits!

Our, sad, last day was spent at MK for a few hours. Got on a few rides before it got really crowded; had lunch at Casey's, shopped, then headed back to WL to wait for ME. I'll post some pix here but will have alot more over on my trip report. (I'm still trying to come up with a title!)

So I guess to summarize: we really had a great time and were able to do everything we wanted. It certainly helped knowing we would be back again in Nov. so not going to some of the shows we enjoy wasn't such a big deal. I got to do all the fun rides I usually never get to ride with Lauren.

But, seriously, it is such a hot and crowded time of year. I really feel for those people who can only go during these summer months and can understand how frustrating it can be with all the lines. For example, at DHS, it was noon and we wanted to catch the 12:30 Indiana Jones show - it was already full; and there was a line wrapped around the building for the next show - at 1:45!!!:scared1:

But it was very fun to hang out with Lauren for the week - she's a really good kid and we had a great time. Met and spoke with alot of people; that's what I love about Disney - you just strike up conversations with total strangers. There were two guys at the table next to us in LeCellier - we talked with them during our whole dinner.

Ok - here are some pix:

How's that? Bossy..bossy!

When you are so upset when you get back don't you feel like there is something wrong with you? I am always feeling like it's an addiction or something. I get so....bummed and coo coo! I mean if you are going to have issues about something I guess WDW is a healthy one. If it wasn't for the money I would be there every 6 months FOR SURE. I literally have been making myself sick every time I hear the airline cost horror projections! They better not ruin my WDW trips!!!!

Photopass photogs took some pix for us; the one in France was taken by a very cute French host at the check-in desk. My actual birthday is July 18th; but a CM with DisneyDining told me I MUST celebrate while I'm there so she noted it on all my reservations. But, honestly, the only place that made a fuss about it was The Yachtsman - I got a birthday button and card signed by alot of characters; also got a personalized menu and special free dessert. I'll post the pix on my tr; I haven't named it or started it yet but when I do, I'll let you know.

As for feeling so bummed......I'm not so sure it's healthy for a grown woman to feel so down about not being in WDW! Whatever! I'm just so happy there! What worries me is that I can get pretty irrational about needing to go. It's probably financially irresponsible of me to be going once a year, never mind twice! Yes, I'm like you - I'd LOVE to go every six months!
