Hi Cammie! Thanks, and Myles and Londynn live with us, so I see them a little more than I want to!
But Mason just moved back to town. I seriously thought Dana my DIL was trying to keep him away from me - my DS Ryan and she have gotten very close to Jim's parents and don't want to spend time here at all, it seems. Well, I had a 3 hr talk with her yesterday, and she just thought that we didn't care about Mason, and that the other two were the only ones that mattered - she was afraid he would get his feelings hurt.
I told her that it was because they haven't let us see him, so he doesn't know us, is a little afraid of us, so we weren't pushing ourselves on him, and that we were so hurt it was easier just to not try too hard. Her problem here is with Lindsay. They'll have to work that out, I told her, because we all need to be a family.
I left with us hugging and agreeing that we want to work on being closer. I know my MIL has some influence in this - I have heard that she gossips about me with her daughter, Jim's step sister and then shares it with outside parties - I won't be able to deal with that, though, because Jim's dad is impossible and I want to protect that relationship for Jim.
Whew! Now you know our disfunctional family stuff! Thanks for listening! I think things will get better with time. It will be better when we get our house back and the kids have normal healthy lives.
Weather report - we are still in the 60s with a cold breeze!
We've had frost for the last few early mornings. We are supposed to have a graduation party next Saturday evening outside!
I can't fit 40 people in my house, so I hope it warms up by then. It's usually the hottest day of the year just because the kids are sitting outside with black robes on.
I'd better get busy cleaning and order the cake! Talk to you ladies later!
