FINALLY!!! School is closed tomorrow. Now we'll just batten down the hatches together! I'm sure Jeff will go into work, so it'll just be us girls hunkerin down!

I absolutely do NOT understand men!!!

My theory is that each child sucks out some of your brain cells.

I couldn't have said these two things better myself!!

Funny story - I just got a text from Cammie and as I was reading it, my home phone rang, and I thought I heard "This is Cammie from the Disboards." After a couple seconds, I'm like, this does NOT sound like Cammie! No Jersey accent. So I'm thinking, who got my number and is pretending to be Cammie? Turns out it was TAMMIE!!!!

I left Cammie a VM on her cell Friday on my way home because I forgot where she was going, and she didn't return my call! I just texted her. Did you all say she's getting bad weather on the Jersey shore? I am horrible at following the current events/weather.

Kara - I'm glad they decided to close the schools. Does Ally like her teacher?

Maureen - I loved your poopy story! Mine are over 4 yrs apart, but I can totally relate, especially to the key story. I forgot my purse once or twice when the kids were little and I was carrying a diaper bag. Darrin asked HOW I could forget my purse. Uggh!

I haven't been following that story of the missing little girl, except what you all have said here, but it sounds awful. As crazy as they can make us sometimes, to get driven to the point of doing something like this woman probably did, or the other awful things you hear about moms doing to their kids, is terrible. It's a tragedy that no one sees the signs and helps them to get help before they snap. I spout off at the mouth a lot more than anything else. My kiddos are used to hearing a few choice words when they know they've pushed me too far. I know that's bad...

Pam, don't feel bad - the other day Ally said something "scared the crap out of" her. Yeah, she gets that from me. But I guess I could say worse!

There was a big shark caught off the Jersey coast yesterday! That's what I texted Cammie - don't know if it's a big deal or not, but I don't think I'd set foot in the water. In fact, New Smyrna Beach, which is just south of Daytona, seems to have shark attacks every year now! Jeff's granparents used to winter there for years so we know the area fairly well.

Ally seems to like her teacher, but it's only been 2 days. Today my neighbor picked up Ally along with their two kids (3rd grade and kindergarten) and they both came over to play after school. So they're upstairs doing who knows what!

I just hope we don't lose power tomorrow so Ally and I can "play." Don't know how much I'll work tomorrow with her home. I may just work in the morning and then take the afternoon off.

My girls say crap, and have let a few more things slip by in front of us. My mouth is bad in front of friends and family, so it's understandable. I don't let them talk like that, but I am sure that they do a little w/their friends.
I don't promote it! I know it sounds awful!

I am not a big water person, so the sharks would keep me out of the water for sure! Maybe Cammie will post pics when she gets back! Scary thought.

I am on vacation Friday! It's our last Friday of summer, but I am still not sure what we're doing. It sounds good just to stay home and chill, but the girls have different thoughts. Our rain is supposed to stop tomorrow, so I thought about a water park, but they've done that a couple of times this summer. Also, we've been having these scares of bacteria being in the water at the public pools/water parks, caused by feces in the water. They had to close the one by our house down for a couple of days, and we were there just a few days before that! Maybe Six Flags at the last minute if it stays cooler like it has been the past few days. It's supposed to be high 92F Friday. Darrin has his fantasy football weekend this weekend, leaving Friday at noon, back Sunday afternoon. A weekend of FF draft, poker, fishing on a lake, beer...He lives for this all year long. He's only been spending the past 2 weeks straight creating these spreadsheets for the draft. I told him I wish he could put that much effort into some of our home chores. Ouch! It will be a girls' weekend!

I am off to Wisconsin tomorrow. My anxiety has been so bad these past couple weeks but I know I will start to chill out soon. I always get this nutty at this time of year and it stinks! Elizabeth is in the class I wanted her in and our weather has been great so things are getting better. I just dread that first day of school but know I will be fine afterward. I feel so over dramatic but I just get so stressed! Sorry to always be whining about it.

I will be back and to my old self in a couple of weeks I am sure.

Winds are whipping pretty good right now, there's a slight roar associated with them, too. Jeff drove into work but I told him to be careful because the city is out now, evaluating bridges and deciding whether or not to close some for a couple of days. There is sooooo much water in Jacksonville, rivers, streams, swamps, so there are bridges everywhere. Supposed to get a lot of rain over the next two days - we got over an inch yesterday already. So we're just hanging out today, waiting to see waht Fay brings....

Got so mad at Jeff last night! I stormed out of Moe's with Ally in tow. Yes, we decided to eat at Moe's (not very JC friendly, but I just got a kids burrito, easy on the cheese and sour cream, and no chips) so Ally and I get there first. When Jeff shows up, he's on the phone. He comes inside and tells me to go ahead and order and he goes back outside. Not even a hello to me or Ally. Finally he comes in. Three times during dinner his phone rings, and he pulls it out and checks the number before he puts it away. Once he answered it and went back outside. The last time, I told him to just shut it off. He wouldn't do it. Because it might be "important." Well, it's 6:30pm, if it's important, he can deal with it later I tell him, cause his family should come first. I've had it with that phone! When we went to Disney in 2006, he was on the phone all the time. I was so pissed! It is rude, it is disrespectful, and I look forward to the day that cell phones are OUTLAWED in restaurants, and especially in cars. I've had it, and I told him so.

OK, off to get a little work done this morning. I may take the afternoon off and hang out with Ally....

Kara - I don't blame you about the phone thing. ITA (ha! - one that I know!). I try not to even talk on the phone when I am w/my kids. I see moms dragging kids thru malls and other places, talking away on a cell phone. How boring for the kids! This texting thing is crazy, too! Even tho there is now an announcement before a movie about not texting, people still do! I had 3 around me the other night, and it was so distracting! I took Tay and her friends to the dollar show last night, and the girls wanted to take their cells. I said NO WAY! We saw the Incredible Hulk. I liked it. Thinking about you and your weather ...Be careful!! Good for you to stick to the JC even at a restaurant!

I called my ENT today - told them this isn't getting better - so asked the nurse to call me about scheduling the CT scan. Once I know that is clear, I'm not really sure what the next step is. I'm actually (don't make fun of me) thinking of meeting with a natural dr too - see what they can recommend to the mix. I have heard they often just make dietary recommendations that really help - so I'm just ready to feel better - especially before our beach trip week after next!!!

Tammie - before I forget - yes you can do paper dolls with any. I can walk you through that. There is a specific cartridge, but you can make them with any. I'd be happy to tell you how, but you don't necessarily need one machine over another for that.

Sorry - I have no clue what is going on - been barely LIGHTLY skimming. Please forgive me - just my eyes hurt. Hopefully I'll feel better and be back on soon.

Figures that I feel bad. Sat night I"m leaving hubby & kids and my best friend and I are getting a hotel room to scrapbook and catch up - slumber party. I HAVE to feel better for that!

Mine is the blackberry/cellphone. Carlos is always on it. He was EMAILING at 4am as we were going to the hospital to deliver Mia! HE WAS DRIVING! Every beach trip I threaten to throw it in the ocean by day 2. SERIOUSLY - ours goes off even at 10 pm. We even have people call our house at 10 pm - WTH? Last time I was snippy with the guy so that sorta stopped, but seriously, there has got to be some off/family time for crying out loud. My favorite? When he forgets to silence it and it starts going off like mad when Wall Street gears up at 4 am.

The Aleeve is starting to work. Thank goodness. I've got to get some Motrin.

Renee..no worries about catching up..believe me I am sure I have missed way too much. I hope you find something that works for you. Has anyone ever mentioned the surgery to you for scraping out the sinuses??? I know...not a pretty thought.
