So, on Saturday, we went to see the Jonas Brothers again. This time they were playing at Mohegan Sun in Ct. It's a resort/casino on an Indian Reservation. Lauren's friend has never seen them before and isn't really as big of a fan as Lauren but she was excited. Let me tell you, after the concert, she is now hooked. Lauren is so excited her friend loves them now - finally a good friend to share her obsession with.
I've never been to this place before and I have to say I was very impressed. First of all - complimentary valet parking. I don't know why everyone wasn't doing this, but I saw the signs and figured "what the hell"? I didn't really know where I was going and thought doing valet would be easiest. Was pleasantly surprised when I heard it was free.
Inside was massive! Lauren and Jill walked around with their mouths hanging open. Basically, EVERYTHING is contained in this one sprawling building. All of the gambling is going on in the center, which is roped off and guarded by security, making sure no one under the age of 21 enters. All along the perimeter though is where the shops and restaurants are. The entrance to the arena was also located there. It was like walking through a mall. Quite the scene though -- noon on a Saturday; the place was crawling with a mix of teenage girls wearing JB shirts; and middle-aged to elderly people, wearing bad hairpieces and pulling around oxygen tanks.
Plenty of restaurants to choose from but we settled for a simple burger joint. We were done with lunch by 12:30. The concert didn't start until 3pm; the doors weren't opening until 2. I had severely over-estimated how long the drive was and we now had alot of time to kill. Fortunately there is alot of activity going on. A radio station was set up, playing JB music and giving away things; we went window shopping; got a JB shirt for Jill; and made our way over to the hotel lobby. There was a HUGE crowd there and a very big man standing guard over the elevator bank. I don't know if that's the way the Jonas Brothers were coming out but it was a madhouse. We decided not to stick around.

After Jill got her JB shirt. We all matched.

Menu looked good but very pricey.
Thought this was interesting:
We were done walking around. Decided to just sit and wait for the doors to open:
Finally - THE DOORS ARE OPEN!!!!
Our seats? FREAKING LAST ROW!!!
That's the wall behind us.
Honestly, we were laughing so hard! But really the seats weren't bad. The arena only holds about 8,000 people and every seat does offer a good view:
I guess Lauren and I were spoiled after the Boston concert but yes, we were just happy to be in the building.
The show was definitely more intimate, and not as elaborate, as the summer show. No special effects - just them and their band performing on a simple stage.

The only close-up shots I got were of the video screen. LOL
Didn't take my good camera with the better zoom because I had heard security was tough. Come to find out I could have though - they made an announcement that all cameras were allowed with the exception of those with detachable lenses or video cameras. I never make the right decision in these situations.
Oh well. Fun time was had by all, regardless.
