I started using mealmaster but they are a dos program and now windows vista compatible. Then I bought cookbook wizard. I hate it. When I changed computers I lost my unlock code and had to pay them again for it. So I made sure I saved the code. Now I have vista and they say I need to pay again to get the new vista version. I have exported my recipes into a .txt file. I'm looking for a good program that I can import my recipes to and not have to pay everytime there is an update or I go to a new computer.

Wow, that stinks! I can't believe they made you pay for a new code when you lost yours! Many reputable companies keep track of who has purchased their software & will provide you with the missing code for free.

Unfortunately, I can't help with this. Good luck with your search. I responded to give this a bump.

I've often considered getting some sort of software to help with ideas & nutrition info as I'm diabetic & just recently switched to carb counting...and it can be a real pain. But I've never really found something I was happy with - so I keep using Word to type out the recipes & just save them to folder for beef, chicken, Chinese, Mexican, etc. That with the search feature in Windows can pretty much help me quickly find anything I might want.

I know a number of people here use MasterCook.

Online try bigoven.
I have mastercook, but haven't added many to it. I need to get more organized and add more.
