Looking for BWV refurb update

We will be checking in to BWV one week from today Does anyone know how far along they are with the room refurbishments? We are staying in 2BR PV. Since we we don't mind walking and have never stayed at BWV before, I didn't make any room location requests (I didn't know what location would work best for us anyway.)

Someone posted earlier this week that they did not get their reserved boardwalk view because of the renovations but they were placed in a renovated room over the quiet pool. You may want to just put in a request for a renovated room.

We are going to BWV Dec 21 - 24. Will renovations be done be then? Will every room be renovated?

I saw that post also. I wondered if that meant that they were working in that particular hallway on the BW views or were they working on the PV rooms. I had read some other posts that said the SV were being done first. I was wondering if anyone who had been there recently knew how far along they actually were. I didn't think that they would honor a request for a renovated room since everyone would probably want them if they knew they could.

I was just there - came back yesterday and there was scaffolding in the area of the Big River Grille restaurant but not the entire boardwalk. They probably move it down as they complete each section. It looked the like restaurant was open for dinner but there was no outdoor seating available. We stayed on the first floor and there were no signs of renovations there. I was going to check out the upper floors but never got around to it. I did notice one section of the first floor had new carpet and wall coverings but thats about it. If I could figure out how to post photos, I would post one. They also changed over the signs on Spoodles for the new restaurant on Weds.

Yup. Returned today and they are moving as they complete each section. That section is now complete. They had primed the section just to the right of thimbles & threads. There are exterior and interior renovations. But, not necessarily both in the same section at the same time.

Don't worry about your vacations, there is very little disruption to worry over.

It looks as if most of the roof has been replaced and there were only a few sections left. Exterior painting is almost complete and the new canopies look great. The exterior area at the quiet pool (and community hall) was already complete and it looked wonderful compared to what it had looked like last summer. On the interior, I noted one hallway on floor 2 had the new carpeting and colors. They were working on the door colors in the furthest section from the lobby on floor 1.

Spoodles is gone and the signage is now up for Kouzina. Although, Kouzina painting is still ongoing and they were removing floor tile the other day. If I had to guess, it should be open in the next few weeks. Side note: even though the doors/windows were covered and there were signs stating that Spoodles was closed, people were still trying to walk around them and enter for dinner. On lady, in particular, tried to convince the pizza window staff to let her in since the concierge said it was open. Same lady then asked if Big River Grille was still there and how does she find it.

Thanks for the updates. We are looking forward to our first stay at BWV. The new Kouzina is supposed to open while we are there. We have an ADR for it and can't wait to try it.

I really hope I don't get moved because of the rehab!!! We will be checking in in 49 days & this is my first time FINALLY getting a BW view room.

I was contacted months ago for our Oct 22-27 boardwalk view studio reservation. I was told all studios with boardwalk view would be unavailable for those dates due to the scaffolding from the renovation. We were moved to BCV instead. If you haven't been contacted yet, you may be okay. I guess it depends on whether the renovation is following the planned timeline or not. Sounds like they are a bit ahead to me.

When is Kouzina supposed to open? Your countdown says you leave in 5 days but I thought it was not opening until mid September.

I think Kouzzina begins its soft opening on August 15th - we have a booking for then!
