We are planning our first trip to DL and staying at Embassy Suites South. I am looking for nice buffets for supper as my DH and DS love all you can eat meals....

When looking at Disney Dining, I struggled to find any All you can eat buffets for supper. Could you please post any good buffets in the DL area that might be of interest? If not a buffet - any other restaurants that might be good for us to try...... (my family is pretty basic on their eating preferences)

thanks!!!!

The 2 buffets that they have on property for dinner would be @ Goofy's Kitchen (character dining) & @ Storyteller's Cafe. Storyteller's Cafe has meals that can be ordered from the menu or you can order the buffet. But both places are very good!

There are a couple of Hometown Buffets in the area, one on Chapman about 3 miles west from Harbor Blvd, and another on Katella about a mile west of DLR. We prefer the Chapman location even though the Katella location is closer to us. (And truth be told, I think they've declined of late, particularly the weekend breakfast since they lowered the price.)

These days we prefer Souplantation (Sweet Tomatoes in other parts of the country), and go to the location on Chapman about 6+ miles west of Harbor Blvd.

Goofy's Kitchen in the DLH has an all you can eat buffet for breakfast and for dinner year round, and both meals have a very wide variety of food (my friend - who was new to Goofy's - was pleasantly shocked at all the food choices when we went there a couple of weeks ago).

The Storytellers Cafe dinner buffet is not year round, unless something has recently changed, so be aware of that. According to Disney Dining, they have the buffet during "busy times" of year or "peak seasons" (like holiday periods and certain weekends, etc). For example, during this holiday season, the buffet has been happening at least on weekends, and possibly during the week, too, but in another month like March, for example, it may not be happening at all. There have been DIS-ers who have gone there to eat dinner and there was no buffet served at that time. Also, the Storytellers dinner buffet - when it does happen - has a much more limited selection than Goofy's Kitchen (but it is also quite a bit cheaper too!).
