Not sure what to do about visiting a water park...

My kids love water parks, but there are several really good ones that are within 2-3 hour drive from home, so I'm having a hard time #1 justifying taking time away from the the other parks and #2 I'm struggling to fit it into our trip. It looks like we'll have a 3-4 hour time block at most. We're traveling in October (and from Michigan so the "cooler" weather won't affect the kids) so perhaps the park will be less crowded? My question - is it worth it to carve out a small block of time to hit BB? My kids are 4 & 5 and won't be riding most of the "big" slides.

Do you already have the water parks and more option? You can always add it there if you decide to go. There are ticket offices right outside.

It will probably NOT be crowded in October. Blizzard beach is great for those ages, because they have a lot of kids areas. You can check online.

However, when we took our week long October trip, there were only 2 days we would have been comfortable to use the water park. We ended up doing blizzard beach one day and really enjoyed it. 5-10 min lines for most rides. I didn't do the slush gusher which has the biggest lines, so I don't remember what that was.

I would say to set aside the money to upgrade your tickets IF you want to go when you get there. If not, more ice cream cookie sandwiches and stuffies for the kiddos!!

In Oct, the water parks should be very "un-crowded" so you won't have to carve out much time. 3 to 4 hours will be plenty of time. And it might be cool to see how BB compares to the ones in your area. However, based on what you said in your post I would not make it a "must do" for your trip.

The water parks in my area are not very good so we thoroughly enjoyed our time at BB and TL.

We are spending one of our mornings at BB followed up by the later afternoon/evening at DHS with FP+ ride selections and Fantasmic.

The kids area at BB is really well done.

This is literally my plan lol. Wanted to hit DHS for JTA signup and then head to BB for a while. In building our touring plan for DHS I just found there wasn't a ton that was relevant for my kids aside from a couple of things and Fantasmic.

Thanks for the feedback everybody!

I know that the car stunt show wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but the boy thought it was the best thing ever. Now that it's closed, a big chunk of our DHS time is freed up to plan for other things. It will be a nice change.

Same plan! BB in the morning, DHS for the afternoon/evening. We may add TL one day before/after US or AK.
