The really bad thing was that nothing was moving and it took like 10 to 15 min to get to the head of that gridlock from where the pic was taken. We went into the park and did nothing, but try and get back out and go back to the CG.

Ah-HA!!!!! This is what I was looking for. Even if we decide to try it, we will know to not bother after the first few "non-steps". Thanks a lot - we are once again leaning towards skipping the parks that week. :rolleyes1

We have discused it and have decided either april or may for us. We always enjoyed it there at that time of year.

Another strategy is to go early for the EMH days and then it shouldn't be that bad even on Xmas and NYE. I wouldn't dump the whole week because a day or two where it's really, really bad and that pic is about the worst I have ever seen at the MK.

Thanks for the encouragement. I guess we'll just see how we feel at the time but it really won't be a huge loss just slugging around the campground that week (actually the DH would be in heaven ;)) - we still have an additional week-plus to do the parks. That said, I am obviously tempted to get in to see what the fuss is all about. Now that I think about it, we probably won't be doing Disney in December again for a long while so we may just HAVE to go to the parks once or twice. I am keen to see the decorations. Looks like we might be on again :lmao:

Theres still nothing like being in the Magic Kingdom on Christmas day. :santa:

You know I can just feel the excitement and the anticipation from this phrase above. I can feel the magic bubbling up inside me as I stand on Main Street looking at the decorations and thinking how lucky we are to live in a world where a place like this exists...

That is the whole reason NYers come down to disney for vacation-to avoid intersections that look that way :rotfl2:

And then someone steps on my toe - I think I can feel that too ;)
