Hello everyone,
Planning a likely may 2008 vacation to Disney and after our week at Disney we will be spending a few days off site to do some shopping and such. Looking for a nice hotel to stay at, which is affordable, but very nice. Any recommendations? We are interested in the Florida Mall and I-Drive, and don't want to drive too far, so something near those preferably.

The closest part of I-Drive from the Florida Mall is about 4 to 5 miles away. If you're most interested in those two areas you'd probably be best to stay somewhere around the intersection of I-Drive and West Sand Lake Road. I'd suggest the Crowne Plaza hotel on Universal Boulevard just off W. Sand Lake. It's a nice hotel with a good pool area, fitness center, on-site restaurant. Probably around $125/night, but this hotel shows up on Priceline fairly often. You might also be able to find a better price through a source like hotels.com, travelocity, expedia, orbitz or one of the other online travel agencies.

I stay at the Hawthorne Suites last year and it was nice. The one on Canada Avenue. It had good clean rooms, free nice breakfeast, and good pool.

I did not like the Florida Mall at all. It did not have that many stores in it.
