I have enough points for one ticket, but now need to crank up the points to get another one. Care to share your AirMiles accumulation tips? I'm all ears!

Thanks!

We have a master card where we accumulate airmiles. We put as much on the card as possible and pay it monthly. We purchase items at stores that offer airmiles.

We have a HBC card and have our points transferred to AirMiles on a monthly basis.

If I know that I am going to a store that offers airmiles and I will be purchasing a large dollar amount, I check the AirMiles Website to see if there a bonus coupons.

Our home is heated with oil so we deal with Shell. We don't drive otherwise we would use Shell for gas.

We recently flew to Florida with airmiles. Also were able to get 3 DW passes for seven days. Mind you, we had been saving up for quite some time. I was hard to go back to 0 airmiles.... but it was so worth it.

Good luck!

I buy the premium gas at Shell when they have 10x the airmiles promotion on - it is currently on until July. I actually find that my car works better with it anyway.

I check the Safeway flyer and see what has Airmiles rewards attached to it and if I need it, I make sure to stock up on it if there is a good Airmiles deal attached to it. I collect the majority of my Airmiles at Safeway. You can sign up for emails on deals at Safeway and get a bonus 100 airmiles just for signing up.

I also signed up for Airmiles surveys - I did one last night and I will be getting 25 airmiles just for giving my opinion.

I was able to accumulate enough Airmiles to get 3 of the 7 day Disney passes for a child over the past 8 months. They don't expire so we are set for Disney trips for the next couple of years. I buy an Annual Pass for me because we stay off-site and it includes parking but getting my son's pass for free is awesome.

I have signed up for e-rewards for surveys but I have never heard of it for airmiles. How do you sign up?

I put everything on either Amex or Master Card and collect miles like that. I also like wine and am not a wine snob, so will pick up a bottle that gives me more airmiles. As long as it has alchol in it, all's good:lmao:

Our strategy:

1. Amex Platinum, $50/year fee, 1 Airmile for every $10 at Airmiles sponsors, and 1 Airmile for every $15 everywhere else Amex is accepted.

2. Airmiles Tool bar for internet searches. 5 Aimiles for every 50 searches on the web, upto a max of 30 airmiles per month.

3. Coupons/promotions. Watch for airmiles coupons. My wife and I walked out of Sobeys one night with 301 Airmiles for our purchase; 260 bonus miles from coupons, 14 airmiles for Sobeys purchase, and 27 for using Amex.

4. Pay as many bills as posible with Amex; cell phone, Irving Oil, etc.

5. Use Amex for all purchases where it is accepted and pay it off at the end of the month, or even nightly when we get home.

At the rate we are accumulating airmiles I suspect we will average 400+ airmiles, per month, over the year.

Sign up for a BMO Mosiac Mastercard and pay the fee to upgrade to 1 mile for every $15 spent.

Put everything on the card including automatic debits - home insurance, car insurance, daycare fees, sports activities, charitable donations, newspaper subscriptions, phone charges, some utilities can be paid via M/C, all gasoline, groceries, entertainment, tutition, vacations.

If you have Safeway in your area check for bonus miles by calling 1-800 Safeway and asking if there are any extreme specials at local stores for the week. Or check Safeway.ca for the online flyers. Also sign up for the Email Direct coupons from Safeway.

Buy everything you can from airmiles.ca online stores - Amazon, Chapters, etc.

Our strategy:

2. Airmiles Tool bar for internet searches. 5 Airmiles for every 50 searches on the web, up to a max of 30 airmiles per month.

This is new to me. How do you download the toolbar? I'm impressed at the 400 per month level, especially since that would bring us pretty close to what we need for that next great vacation!

i too am an airmiles fanatic! we use it to buy our disney tickets every year.

i watch the safeway flyer and circle all the airmiles products. and buy what i use. and buy lots of it. cereals are a good accumulators. the jumbo boxes are usually on sale and a bonus airmiles item. i have 4 kids so i stock up!

We collect on average 500 per month...we use the BMO airmiles card for all our purchases and pay it off each month. Also if we need certain items such as laundry soap we try to wait until a store is offering bonus airmiles on certain products and get extra that way. Also check on the airmiles site for bonus coupons. There are also some stores such as The Source that does not offer airmiles if you purchase from the store but if you go in through the airmiles website and purchase online you will receive airmiles.

Thanks everyone! I've got the MC and we've been using coupons whenever we can. I'll definitely download the tool bar, and see if I can add a few extras by filling out those surveys.

I have an Air Miles Master Card ( Gold, which saves you 25% on airmiles flights) and we put everything on it. Sobeys is great with product bonus air miles. Last week you could buy 5 cans of tomato paste for $.59 each and receive 25 airmiles ( that's a total of only $3 for 25 airmiles!). I even bought some extra cans and donated them to the food bank. The family will be eating a lot of spaghetti sauce the next couple of months but it's worth it. We have taken our family of 4 to Disney 3 times with air miles.

We do everything already listed in the above posts. Also, I have a very high credit limit on my BMO Mastercard and what I will do sometimes is if someone in my family (i.e. parents/brothers who do not collect Air Miles) have an upcoming large purchase (i.e. computer), I will go with them to pay for it on my credit card. Obviously, if anyone is going to go this route, it must be someone you trust and who you know will turn around and give you the full amount of the purchase so that you can pay it off when the statement is due.

I am not sure if anyone mentioned it but get the easy pay tag for shell as well. It will automatically charge to your CC of choice, so mosaik or airmiles amex. Also will automatically give you the bonus airmiles without having to remember a coupon.
An the best part is no signature req'd at payment time.

Where I am from Sobey's doesn't offer am's, but aeroplan miles. Am I mistaken? I am from BC.

I also signed up for Airmiles surveys - I did one last night and I will be getting 25 airmiles just for giving my opinion.

I did not realize Airmiles had surveys and gave out airmiles for them.

I'm looking all over their site, but I just do not see where to sign up!

Could someone provide a direct link please?

Thanks!

Thanks for the ideas for the airmiles, I just did the toolbar. Hopefully if I step up the airmiles I can earn at least one of the kids free by November, half way there!
