Okay, I started out planning our next trip to FLA (March '06)and planned on doing it on a budget (need home reno's, but don't want to give up my vacation!) Now that I have found this discussion board, and read some of the posts, I have changed to a full week at Disney! I'm a huge fan, and we usually stay on site, but I thought we could go the 'cheap' route this year! My question is this: studio vs. 1 bdrm (4 of us, kids 7/10) & which resort? I'm currently leaning towards a studio at either OKW or BWV, and I'm hoping I can rent points as I'm not a DVC owner (yet!)

How fun! OKW will give you larger accommodations for fewer points but BWV has a better location.

A 1 br will require two of you to share a sleeper sofa at either resort. A studio at OKW can come with 2 queen beds. A studio at BWV will still have two of you on a sleeper sofa.

Just decide pretty quickly. There may not be much selection left at either resort for the weeks you're wanting.

I think the deciding factor is privacy. My wife and I REALLY like our own room so we'd vote for the one bedroom suite. It's personal preference, I know, but the studios can get very claustraphobic with four people.

With the ages of your boys, I would NOT do a studio at ANY resort, but I would probably suggest an OKW 1 bedroom for the lower point cost and larger size. I don't consider it a lesser location like some of the above posters. If you rent points for an OKW 1 bedroom, be sure to have the owner request a second door to the bathroom for you. That way the boys can go to the bathroom and even take a shower without disturbing you and DH in the master.
