We have not been to Universal in about 8 years (and have never been to IOA). We are 2 adults, staying at Hardrock, May 8-11.

Do you think we will need one full day for each park? Or will one park require less time?:confused3

I'm trying to do some planning and as you can see we leave on Tuesday:cool1:

If you like thrill rides then I would say DEFINITELY a day for each park. There's lots of stuff that wasn't there 8 years ago (Like IoA, for example, and lots of new rides which you won't have been on at Universal Studios that are WELL worth taking the extra day for!)

One full day for each is good. A third is always nice but not completely necessary. You want to be able to do all the shows as well as the rides. The rides at Universal tend to take longer because they are more attraction type rides.

Thanks guys....

another question...

At Disney we try to avoid rides that are motion simulator such as
Star Tours & Body Wars (sometimes it doesn't agree with us)

Is there anything like this at either of Universals parks that we should also try to avoid?

Thank you:thumbsup2

Not really. There's Shrek 4-D which has a part that makes you feel like you're moving, but it's not as bad as a motion simulator.

For what it's worth, Star Tours makes me feel sick as well

Jimmy Neutron shakes me up and I usually end up feeling nauseous.

The Beetlejuice Revue and the Horror Make Up Show are excellent. Don't miss them!

motion sickness....The effects in Spiderman can get to me at times, but it is well worth the discomfort. I try to ride it on an almost empty stomach A completely empty is as bad for me a a full stomach. I try to ride in the back row, and if I feel the motion sickness start, I just look at the front of the ride vehicle.

3 days in the parks is the best IMHO.... you get to see all the shows in US and have enough time to take in the atsmophere. We love to spend an hr at the fountain in IOA.
