DSs karate class is having a halloween party next saturday and we are all asked to bring something. i signed up to bring a treat but i am now stumped as to what to bring. they had a back to school party and everybody brought cookies and cupcakes. someone brought a veggie tray but it never got touched. the party will be at 11am. i just dont know what to take. i know they wont need more cupcakes. so any suggestions??

Cone Cakes!!! Fill flat bottomed ice cream cones about 1/2 way with cake batter and bake in the oven like cupcakes!!! Put icing on them and some candies- YUM!! Always go over well!

Today at our meeting the boss served individual dirt cakes. It is crumpled up Oreos at the bottom and then a layer of pudding then more crumpled up Oreos at the top. Add in some gummy worms and there you go. You can either make small individual ones or do like my cousin does, and make one big one in a pail and just bring plates and spoons to serve it.

Dip Nutter Butter cookies 3/4 of the way in melted almond bark and add tiny chocolate chip "eyes". They make cute ghosts for a Halloween party and they taste good, too.

I saw an interesting recipe the other day. Take thoes jumbo marshmellows and put them on popcicle sticks and dip them in chocolate and get icing and decorate like some bat eyes on them and stuff after the chocolate cools.

I also like the dirt pudding. For beverages, a friend of mine in jr. high made "slime" punch. It's lime sherbert with 7-Up. It's pretty yummy :)

How about popcorn rolled in caramel?

Or, you could get those little breakfast sausages, and some Pillsbury crescent rolls. Cut up the crescent rolls into pieces that can be rolled around the little winnies, and bake. Then you'll have lots of little, hearty, pigs in a blanket. (Or, you could cheat and get bagel dogs at Costco!)

Last weeks Woman's World magazine had this recipe for snack mix in it. It looks really neat.

Monster Munchies
7 cups prepared popcorn
4 cups mini pretzels
1-1/2 cups cheese flavored snack puffs, such as Cheetos
1-1/2 cups square corn cereal, such as Chex
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 Tbsp. lite soy sauce
1-1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups gummi worms
1 cup ornage, black and purple candy coated chocolate, such as M&Ms
Preheat oven to 300ºF. In large bowl toss popcorn with pretzels, cheese puffs and cereal. Combine butter, soy sauce and garlic pwder. Pour over popcorn mixture; toss to coat. Transfer mixture to ungreased baking sheet; sprinkle with parmesan. Bake until slightly toasted, 10-12 minutes. Transfer to serving bowl and allow to cool completely. Stir in candy.
