I am taking my sister and her kids to Disney mid June. Her son, aged 12, has something called chiari where he is not allowed to ride rides involving neck snapping. I am trying to plan the trip to make sure there are no issues but if anyone else has any input on what to avoid I'd appreciate it.

Here is our schedule:

Mon DHS am rope drop TSMM, VotLM, March of the First Order, Frozen sing-along, Sci Fi Diner and Muppets - hope to be heading back to OKW by 1pm
EPCOT pm World Showcase and Illuminations

Tues MK am BOG breakfast getting out right at 9am PP, HM, iaSW, Little Mermaid, Dumbo, Pooh and Philharmagic - hope to be heading back to OKW by noon
DHS pm B&tB, H&V, Indy, Fantasmic

Wed EPCOT am Akershaus breakfast getting out right at 9am FEA, Figment, The Land, Nemo, TT, Spaceship Earth - hope to be heading back to OKW by noon
MK pm Pecos Bill, Swiss Family Treehouse, Aladdin, Tiki Room, PotC, JC

Thurs MK in time for FoF parade, Country Bear, Riverboat, Tom Sawyer, CP dinner, CoP, TTA, Buzz, Monsters Inc, Once Upon a Time and HEA fireworks

I'd love it if he could do thrill rides so if anyone with chiari has been able to do them, pls let me know! Thinking of Test Track, Space Mtn, BTMRR, 7DMT or Splash Mtn

Thank you for any advice!

I do not have chiari but my daughter and I have neck instability. Here's our experiences for what it's worth: We can both barely handle test track (with the head back against the seat-it's when they test the brakes I think that the car goes side-to-side) and splash is fine. I LOVE mine train because it's the only roller coaster I can do; the ride itself is so smooth but at the very end the train sometimes get jerked to a fast stop before pulling into the station. As long as my head is against the seat I'm good. Space and Thunder are definitely no-gos for us. TSMM does whip the cart around pretty fast between games. Again, as long as I'm not leaning forward I'm good.

Pooh has a bouncing part, but it kind of rocks/bounces. IASW - the boats may bump when they get to the end.
Living with the Land - same thing with bumping boats. Figment - do the cars pivot too much? TTA - the transition between slow and fast can be jerky. PotC - there is a drop, and the boats bump a lot. Buzz - depends on how the person turns the vehicle. Is he OK with bumping?

One case of chiari is not like another - so even if one person can do it, another may not. I'd check with his specialists to see what they say.
