I've been wanting to do a post for a few days now, but the power cord on my laptop at home has died and I've been without a computer for about a week or so now. I had purchased a new cord at the Apple store two weeks ago, but was a bit horrified at the $85 price tag so I hunted down a cheaper one on Ebay. It has yet to come in, and I refuse to open the Apple store one. (It's going back as soon as I get the Ebay one). I never realized how reliant I've become on my home computer. I've been feeling lost without it. My father was thinks he may have repaired my old cord, so with any luck I'll be back up and running tonight. I can't really post what I want from work.
WOW! $85 for a new power cord, I don't blame you one bit for standing your ground but you're so right, you get so reliant on these things that you come to NEED them!!!
I can't believe I'll be in Disney in less than a month!

(Or as LL counts down - 4 more Fridays stuck at work.

) After more than a year of planning, my trip is almost here. I've been having a few moments lately when I've been wishing it was still a solo trip, but overall I'm happy that I'll be going with my friend. I spoke with her this week, and she still hadn't booked her tour.

After we got done talking, she called Disney to book her tour. Hands raised if you can guess how it went. Yep, the tour was already full.

(This is why I'm in charge of the trip planning). She ended up booking the Keys to the Kingdom tour instead. I loved it last year when I went, so I'm thinking that she is going to love it. It won't really affect our plans at all, she'll just have to have an additional day on her passes for the extra park day.
YAY for less than a month or 4 more Fridays stuck at work as LL would say!!
Love it!! It will be here before you know it....this time of year flies by.....
As for me, I need to make up a schedule for myself for this last month before vacation, and probably straight through to Christmas. I feel like there is going to be so much going on, that I don't trust myself to remember everything. There is what I need to do before Thanksgiving, what I need to have ready for my trip, and then all the holiday stuff - Christmas cards, decorating, parties, shopping etc. You wouldn't think that a week away would be to much, but I'm stressing out over getting everything at least organized with a plan.
I did the SAME thing last year!!! We went 12/7-14 and it was a big deal...getting everything organized for the holidays and being away from home!!! I understand completely!!! It's so smart and makes things so much smoother....
I did pull out my suitcase this weekend to get a jump start on things. Since I'm not using my summer clothing any longer, I figured that I could at least get that started. The rest of my family laughs at me, but I always have to plan out specific outfits for each day in the parks. Yes I am such a compulsive planner that I have to wear certain outfits, themed to certain parks. I may have a few issues.

But as I know some Diser's plan their Vera bags to their resorts I refuse to feel guilty about this. I pack outfits together in my packing sleeves in order of how I will wear them. That way my next days outfit is always on the top of the pile and ready to go. No really, I'm not that compulsive am I?
I do the same thing, I'm sure most of us DISers do!!!
Not sure if that makes you feel better or not!! LOL!!
I started trying on a few outfits to be sure I liked the way things looked together and was a bit horrified to realize that some of my shorts were feeling pretty snug.

Uncomfortably snug, even though I could zip them and everything. This summer had been so cold and rainy most of the time, that I hadn't really pulled out most of my summer things. I had a few favorite pairs of shorts that I would wear, but most of my stuff I never touched. I'm not even sure that I wore some of the stuff on my last trip either. I was able to put together enough outfits with the stuff that fit, but I was not happy with myself. I've put myself on a strict diet until I go away. Hopefully I'll be able to drop a couple of pounds before I go just to make a few things more comfortable. I'll let myself enjoy Thanksgiving though (within reason

). It just makes me mad at myself.
I hear you on this, too!
I was suprised how cool it was this time of year last time!! I brought lots of capris and jeans, even, and wore a fleece in the a.m. over a short sleeve top and at night....keep checking the weather, you may not need your shorts, afterall!! It was nice to wear my flip flps with jeas and a tshirt during the day, it was PERFET touring weather in my book!!
Packing for December has been throwing me for a bit of a loop as well. I'm so used to being at Disney when I only have one temperature to worry about - hot and humid with the only real variation being the possibility of rainy, hot and humid. (And for me there is almost always lots and lots of rain). My plan of attack for December is thin, light layers. Shorts and tee shirts for daytime, and then at night I'm bringing along some jeans, and a pair of lightweight capris in case I need something a bit warmer. I'll also bring along a lightweight fleece jacket and a sweater for evenings. I usually bring along a jacket even in the hot weather, as those restaurants can get really cold sometimes. I'm thinking that should do it.
See above!
