Looking for a Great Mexican Dinner

We eat at Chevy's at least once a month and have never had a bad meal there. They give you free Chips and Salsa too (their Salsa is so good! and the chips are made there and always fresh!).

Another great Mexican place is Amigos. The closest one to WDW is at 8282 International Drive. It's a small local chain (5 or 6 locations in the area). They have really good Tex-Mex food. I love their Fajitas! They aren't too expensive either.

Never been to the one in Orlando, but we love Chevy's!

SAI not withstanding, WDW just isn't a place for great Mexican food. There are many other great choices though.

Do you know if Amigos make one of those soft yet hard fried corn tortilla tacos? I haven't had one in ages and am really craving one. Thought for sure Chevy's would do them up but they have their own version of a shell and San Angel makes soft tacos only.
I'd take a taxi to Amigos if they do! :goodvibes

Add us to the list of folks that LOVE the San Angel Inn. Mexican is my favorite food. While I have had better Mexican food closer to home, the SAI is very good and the atmosphere is great! We always eat at SAI whenever we go to WDW.

We have enjoyed the Steak or Chicken Nachos at the Coronado Springs
Pepper Market. They have a Round Counter in the middle of the Food Court with a few really good choices from Nachos to Taco Salads
AT least the food is prepared right in front of you while you wait and watch, so you can see what you are getting and it's very fresh.

I'm a fan of the San Angel Inn too. Love the food and love the atmosphere even more.

I thought San Angel Inn was very authentic, I hadn't eaten there in a few years so I couldn't remember what it was like. And than from reading some negatives reviews here I didn't know what to expect. My two friends and I had a late lunch there and all three of us really enjoyed our food. We're all Latino so we know good Mexican food.

I think we will try SAI. We just won't go expecting prompt service! ;)
we are not fans of Tex-Mex, either. So your advice along withJennieMominRI have convinced me to take the plunge!

Are there any off-site Mexican restaurants that are Authentic Mexican or California-style Mexican?

I thought the fajitas were pretty good at the Pepper Market and while I haven't tried it, I heard the wet burrito is pretty good as well.

We enjoy San Angel. It might not be the VERY best Mexican food we have ever eaten, but it is good and the atmosphere is great. The lunch and dinner menus are different. They have more "tex-mex" type items on the lunch menu than on the dinner menu.

We enjoy San Angel. It's usually one of our "must do" restaurants. I have to say that while I'm sure it's happened, our service has always been fine and the servers have never been rude at all. Once however, the food did look rather "thrown together", but it still tasted good. ;)

I have eaten at the San Angel Inn twice and it has been good both times. It is one of my favorite Epcot restaurants. After drinking a couple of their Margheritas I am sure the food will taste heavenly. The Maya Grill at the Coronado Springs Resort is another great choice for authentic mexican food and supposedly is run by the same family that runs SAI.
