Looking for a good resort to eat lunch.

We are not staying at a Disney resort but in the past we like to take a non park day to drive over to the Poly resort to shop, eat and ride the monorail to check out the other resorts. Many years ago we drove over to Animal Kingdom an ate at Sanna for lunch however I notice their menu has changed so I'm thinking of trying somewhere else. I think I would like to check out other resorts like the Boardwalk or Wilderness or Port Orleans riverside and do lunch at one of those, so I'm looking for suggestions. We will have our own car. Thanks

I'm sure the foodies will know which restaurants are open at lunch and can make recommendations based on what type of food and what price point you are interested in.

Never did it, but heard Swan/Dolphin has good restaurants.

The table service restaurant at POR is open for dinner only. The food court is pretty good but not worth a special trip just for that. I'd go with Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. Second choice from those you mentioned would be a late breakfast at Cape May Cafe in the boardwalk general area, though not the Boardwalk Inn- not technically a lunch, but if you take the latest time available, it could be your brunch. Another idea, The Wave at The Contemporary is really good and they are open for lunch, although I've been there for breakfast and dinner only.

If you are looking for lunch, I would head over to Whispering Canyon at WL. The resort is beautiful and WC is a lot of fun. There isn't a lot going on at the Boardwalk during the day, so, lunch in that area wouldn't be terribly fun. If you would consider dinner, there is entertainment on the Boardwalk at night.

Not at Boardwalk but close: the best lunch we've had was at Ale & Compass at YC. In that area we also like Beaches and Cream.

So many choices!

For non-park lunches some of our favorites include the Grand Floridian Cafe in the GF and the Wave in the Contemporary (a true hidden gem that is vastly overlooked). Enjoy!
