on our upcoming trip my kids will be 18 months, 2, 4 and just turned 6. we have one double stroller that our little ones will be in. now im just looking for a good, reasonable priced double stroller for my older 2 to just relax in when they start to get tired. my oldest will be 5 in a few days and he still gets pretty tired from walking the zoo, so im sure walking Disney will wear him out! we do plan on taking little breaks to eat something and such. we do that now and by the 4th hour of walking he is tired and wants to lay down lol!

I would rent one from off site. It seems like it would be a waste to buy one just for Disney

Well, are you flying or driving? If you're flying I'd probably just rent one there so you aren't dealing with two double strollers. If you're driving I would probably just stalk my local craigslist and see what I could pick up that's reasonably priced and works for you. Then at least you'd be investing your money in something you could use or sell when you're done.

The other thing is- do you feel you absolutely need two doubles or could you bring one double and one single along in case the older ones want a seat?

well we will also be using it for the mall and the zoo and such. i was thinking about doing just bringing the double and a single but then the older 2 would fight over it. so thats why im thinking it would be alot easier to just get a cheap double. i have been searching craigslist but the only double ones i have seen are really old and in bad shape. and yes we are driving.

"Good double stroller" - I think that's an oxymoron.

Haha!

I can sympathize with the whole "they'll fight over it" thing, which is why I picked up a double City Micro in craigslist for $150, because my kids started fighting over who got to sit in the front of our Phil and Teds, which I previously loved. don't so much like pushing a side by side. I think I'm spoiled because our craigslist always has a ton of great stuff on it, it probably depends on where you live. So, if you're striking out on CL and need an inexpensive double for older kids, maybe something like this:

It's a newer stroller, I saw someone with one at the zoo. Kind of like the double City Mini or Micro, but storage is more accessible, no individual hoods. I'd also take into account what double you already have and try to diversify with this purchase.

Our last trip down I had a Combi double. It was great...lightweight, 'book' fold. My boys were 5 and 6, we kept it at the hotel during the day, then in the afternoon/evening we would bring it for them ( we would go back for breaks). They bother were comfy and even took a few naps in it.ses

It was easy to push, light and easy to fold for hte buses

I've checked them all out and it's by far the best (and not the most expensive). Full recline, large baskets, the middle back wheel is further up so you don't kick it, adult cup holders, and it has a tight fold. Much nicer/better quality than the ubiquitous Maclaren. Amazon has free return shipping on it as it wasn't in a store near me.

Seriously, this stroller makes me giddy.

I cannot say enough great things about my Combi twin . . . except that I loaned it to my sister (300 miles away) for her infant twins and now I need something for my older two for our upcoming Disneyland trip!

Some parents don't like the side-by-side but I love it. I've never met a regular-sized doorway that I can't walk through pushing the stroller. Both kids can see out (and enjoy parades!). There are no fights about who gets to sit up front. And they can get in and out so easily.

The girls are old enough (4 and 7) that I don't want to buy them a new stroller, but I know they'll get awfully tired during long days walking in the parks. Especially the 7-year-old, who has special needs/low muscle tone.

(I can't post a link to the Combi Twin because I'm too new here.)

If you decide to buy a stroller check the prices at www.albeebaby.com

They have some great prices. I had my Perego Pliko P3 shipped to the resort. Perego makes an Aria Twin.
