Looking for a AAA Diamond Parking Pass.

Wow, I never thought to ask my AAA office for a parking pass even if I didn't use them to book package. I always book my own trip and have never used AAA for booking it. I've been a member for almost 30 years so when I go in Sept. I'm definitely going to ask my office for a pass. Maybe I'll get lucky :goodvibes:

Thanks for info!

The last time I got my tickets at AAA they gave me a pass. I did not have to buy a whole package, just the tickets. This year we plan to buy 10 day tickets which AAA does not sell. My office told me that since they did not sell what I wanted and since I was a AAA member, if I bring my receipt they will give me a diamond pass. I don't know how many day tickets you are buying but maybe you can look into this.

We have left over tickets from a previous trip for my wife, my oldest son and myself. We however do need a ticket for our youngest son, which I HAVE ordered directly through my local AAA office. And yet they still will not get me the parking pass.

Thanks.

Ya know honestly if you don't get one I don't think it would be any big deal, you're going when end of Feb? I don't think it'll be too crowded then. And if you get to the parks b/4 opening you can pretty much go right up front and park right behind the diamond parking anyway. For everyone else, Diamond Parking is just a section in the lot you still have to pay to park if staying offsite, and if the section is all filled up it doesn't matter if you have a pass or not you still won't get in.

We used these twice:

once when we booked through AAA an entire package.
and then again last year when a kind member on here mailed us the parking pass and we mailed it back to them as soon as we got back.

After our first trip I kindly gave the two I had (we booked two different hotel packages for parts of our trip... so we got two) to the first two people to respond via PM.

If I had any from our last trip (borrowed from a kind member on here) I would of gladly sent them to you.

If you don't find a kind soul on here (I can't believe NO ONE would be willing to help you out) don't feel to bad... they are nice, but as you stated they DON'T cover parking costs and sometimes they are packed enough where you have to park with the rest of the crowd anyways.

Here is wishing that a kind soul will give you a little pixiedust :wizard:

Problem is we park hop.

Use the buses... You already BOUGHT a parking space and BOUGHT tickets... you should be able to use the buses to USE your tickets.

Problem is we park hop.

Ya us too and a lot of times when you get to that second park the diamond parking is all taken and they don't let you up there to even look for a spot. We use the busses to hop too...usually go park at whatever park we are going to end at then get on the bus and go to where we want to start.

We chose not to hop when we used our diamond parking unless we used the buses. Our spots were real close in some cases and when we left and came back they would not let us use the diamond parking. They said it was full... when we walked past it our original spot was empty (they were not letting anyone in there so we could have gotten our original spot back if they would have let us drive that way!) If you use the pass I would park and use Disney transportation to move around.

We have always been able to get good Diamond Parking places even as late as early in the afternoon. But then again we typically go during the value season. We drive to the parks even when we stay on site, because we HATE the buses.

On average you have to wait 10 minutes for a bus to come, and that is during the day. At park closing it can sometimes take up to 2 hours to get a bus back to your resort. Then there was the INCIDENT. I'll get to that in a minute. We have found it MUCH faster to just drive ourselves.

Ok THE INCIDENT:
A few years back, we were leaving one of the parks at closing (I think it was Epcot). At the time our kids were 1 and 5. As it turned out we had to wait about 45 mins to an hour to get on a bus. When we were finally able to get on a bus, there was only one seat available. Both my kids were exhausted and the one year old was already asleep. So I let my wife have the seat, and she held our 5 year old who promptly fell asleep before we even got out of the bus area. That left me holding my sleeping 1 year old, STANDING. There were several well bodied men and older boys that were siting all around us and NO ONE offered a seat. I understand the legal implications, if a WDW bus driver asked someone to stand so that a child could sit, and that person got injured as a result. But I honestly think that the PR nightmare as a result of a child getting injured as a result of HAVING to stand would be much worse. At the time, and to some degree I still now, I don't understand why the bus driver couldn't have made an announcement as follows, "There are several children and/or parent holding children that are currently having to stand. If anyone that is seated feels comfortable standing, please consider giving up your seat to one of them." Worded in the right was this would have absolved Disney of virtually any responsibility. On the other hand I was complete taken back by the number of people (mainly men and teenage boys) that could have easily stood, yet didn't even seem to consider it. I suppose I could have waited another 15 minutes for another bus, but we were tired, our kids were tired and weren't exactly thinking clearly.

Since then we have only ridden WDW buses when absolutely necessary.

You can't tell by looking at someone whether they're (in this case) standing on/in a moving vehicle.

Notwithstanding, have you tried horseshowmom's suggestion:

Ok, I have just done some more research and found this link.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw...g e#jumplink6

According to this page, "AAA Preferred Parking is included with the purchase of a Magic Your Way ticket of at least 4 days in length only." Which I have done through AAA, yet they still won't give me a AAA Diamond Parking Pass

Email or fax that to the office where you bought your tickets.
or even printing out that page and bringing it to your local AAA office?

I do think it is dangerous to hold a child while standing on the bus. We were too safety minded for that and always waited for a bus that had empty seats. I wouldn't expect anyone to move for me because they were probably just as tired as we were!

I believe you just came up with the correct answer in this case... Those people on the bus first more than likely stood in the bus line queue longer than you did and as the poster above me said...probably were just as tired as you all were.

Now, I am one that would always ask around if people with children or woman would like my seat (my DW HATED that aspect about the trip...as there were several times when she would be sitting next to a stranger while I stood)

My goodness all of this hullaboo about a parking pass. OP my BIL might have one he is not using. I will check with him. When do you go? I'll let you know if I can get it and you can PM me with the address. I am happy to share...to give a gift....tax and guilt free. Consider it an early birthday gift so therefore there is no moral dilema.

Well I guess the thread did sort of mutate into a discussion of why I don't like the WDW bus system.

I have never sat anywhere (bus, train, restaurant, etc) while a woman or child was standing. Just not the way I was raised. But I guess that is just me. :)

But you said your wife got a seat. So that leaves you standing. I doubt a man would get up and let another man sit unless it was obvious you had some kind of disability. Your child wasn't standing as you were holding them. It has nothing to do with how one is raised. You are no better then the ones that chose to sit. You have no idea why they chose what they did. I say if you need a seatt then you wait for one. We waited for 2 buses one trip so my mom would have a place to sit as she cannot balance herself on a bus. I'm sure, looking at my mom, someone would have offered her seat, but why put them out. They look just as tired as the rest of us.

I have debated whether or not to respond to this, but I didn't want people to get the wrong impression of me, so I have decided to respond hoping that I'm not making this worse. This all got started with my explanation of why I do not like the WDW bus system. Maybe I gave too much information. I do want to apologize if I sounded like I thought I was better than anyone else. That was not my intent or thinking. The fact of the matter is that certain acts of common curiosity and politeness that were present in our society as recent as 10-20 years ago are all but gone today. Anyone who understands why I would not have sat while a child or lady was left standing, also already knows that I would have equally stood to allow another man who is holding a child to sit. Does that make me better than others who wouldn't respond in kind? I guess that is up to each individual to decide.

I saw a AAA Daimond pass on Ebay going for $75.00 :scared1:
