Has anybody rented a 6 or 7 bedroom house off-site? I'm mostly interested in something at Windsor Hills, Emerald Island, Indian Creek, Formosa Gardens or Windsor Palms. Did you have a good experience? Any pro's or con's?

Hi....go to the UK website for disney travelers as they have a number of villas for rent on there thedibb.com site is the UK version of disboard.com, a lot of UK disney travelers also are recomended to come on here and check for info from our American hosts....

I would highly recommend the homes in my signature. You can read detailed reviews on the review board. The 07 and 06 homes are in EI and WH and are 6 bedroom homes. The 05 home had 4 bedrooms.

We stayed at this Emerald Island home in December of 2006. It was GORGEOUS and CLEAN...and only a few minutes from Disney! I'd be happy to share details with you if you are interested...just PM me!

I just checked it, but it's already booked for our dates, and this is for April 2008! Thanks anyway. I did get the link to the main site and they do have more villas available that I will check out.

Thanks! I did check them out and I especially liked the Bonita, but I do have some quotes from $500 to $700 less, although the house seems really, really nice. I would've taken it, but it's out of our budget. I'd already checked the Gigha before, but I think it was the bedding that didn't match our needs.
Thanks anyway!

Too bad! The owners of Emerald Footprints also own a 6 bed in EI. I am betting they are a bit high, but it might be worth checking out. The website is www.emeraldfootprints.com, the home is the Emerald Oasis.

Good luck!

If you are looking for a 7 bedroom home in the Formosa area you should look at Formosa Gardens and Emerald Island. (Emerald Island has two distinct types of home, the regular offering which are nice, but if you want something with more space and amenities, look for their Harbor style homes which are larger homes on larger lots) Formosa homes tend to be, again, larger homes on larger lots.

6 bedroom homes can be found on most of the other communities in the Formosa area including Windsor Palms, Windsor Hills, Rolling Hills, Formosa, Emerald Island etc.

Decide what you want in a home and take it from there.

We got a 6 bedroom that was gorgeous last February for four days (President's Day weekend) for just a few dollars over 400. My daughter got it from
www.americanvacationhomes.com.

Emerald Island is a unique community in that it has an area called the Enclave where the builder offered larger homes on larger lots. If you are looking at homes at Emerald Island you may want to be aware of that. It does make a difference having the extra space both inside the home and between you and your neighbors, but of course it all comes with a price!

The Bonita is on the Enclave area and so is one of the larger estate style homes on Emerald Island. If you take a look at http://www.stayatemeraldisland.com/HomesforRent/homes.php which should explain the differences and also show you the different sq. footage of the homes at Emerald Island.

There were only a limited number of these estate style homes built on the Enclave - the builder decided that they didn't make enough money on them, despite the fact that they were more expensive that the regular homes! :rotfl:

We're renting The Diamond on the Island in September/October. (Emerald Island)

It's a 6 br, 5 1/2 bath with 4 master suites.

The owner has always responded quickly to my e-mails - either by PHONE! or by e-mail reply.

We stayed in a home with the same floor plan last May and loved it. Sadly, the owner seems to be too busy to respond to e-mails and phone calls this year so we booked with someone else. I'm quite confident this rental will be perfect!

If you click on the floor plans for the home, you can then click on different rooms to see pictures.

I do not think you will be disapointed with emerald island or the home you are staying in.

I think its the convience of having a bath right off the pool that makes it great for us. Our kids are part fish so we are in the pool area at least 50% pf our vacation.

I have seen the isla bonita's home and it was clean and nice and big in EI also deb the owner is a dis memebr and i have talked to her and she is very nice. since she is a dismember i find that even better to rent from her whereever you stay have a great vacation. we all want to save money but watch it i got a dirty place ay EI and wasn't happy. the price was low

I just got back from the Bonita...amazing, clean, comfortable. Really a perfect home for us. I loved the pool, the 5 bathrooms, the two rooms with twin beds, the bathrobes and seemingly unlimited towels. The owner is a diser (isla bonita). If I were you I'd PM her.

It is a really great home, with none of the disappointments I've read about on here. Plenty of space. All the things needed to cook a simple breakfast to a gourmet meal.

And check out is too simple! She asked us to strip the beds and load and start the dishwasher if we had time...!! Gosh, I think we can manage that for you!;)

Deb's communication is great too...not trying to 'sell' the place, but peace of mind is very valuable to me.

Hello!
This is my first post, although I have been scouting the boards for quite a while... :)
We use Villadirect (I can't seem to post links, probably because I'm new). We've stayed at The Emerald Isle before, and absolutely loved it! It was very clean with peaceful surroundings. We're leaving for WDW in a few weeks and are staying at Terra Verde. The amenities look awesome!
Good luck with your search!!:thumbsup2

We have rented a 6 bed room villa in emerald Estates during our last vacation to disney.

we have rented the villa for a fair price from springvacationrentals.com

good luck :)

Thanks for all the information. I'm checking all this links now.

Travelingal: I'm glad you mentioned the Diamond Island. It's one of the choices I have right now. I may PM you if I have some questions.

I'll have to look more into the Bonita too, after all the good reviews. I did like it from the first time I saw it. The problem is the extended family because I need to make them agree on a higher budget. :sad2:

Any more advice is more than welcomed.

Monica
