DD has SillyBanz and they were driving me nuts around her wrist. She was constantly taking them off to show people and then putting them back on etc. I am a teacher so I have had this problem in my classroom. The kids are great about not trading in the class but, they want to show them off. After putting them on and taking them off there were many that broke or got lost. I got out an old string of beads and threaded the Silly Banz on for DD. She is now able to wear them on a long necklace so she can "go through " them and not have to take them off. I used an old string of beads that had a "POP CLASP". She still plays with them but she can now show people the ones she has without taking them off and on and off and on and ...well, you get the picture. :laughing:My daughter is 6 so she can wear the necklace but has srtict instructions to not wear it on the bus or at recess. I wouldn't do this with young children but of course young children would not be playing with silly banz they can choke on

LOL I have no idea how to do that!! I just took the necklace. It is a string of old mardigras (SP??) beads but the clasp is a pop together one. I strung the bands on so they hand in the front. DD can put it over her head or POP the clasp to get it on and off. She doesnt need to take the banz off since she can just look at them.......when my older DD gets home I will see if she can help me post a photo. I am sure others have done this but I thought of it looking at my dog's collar!!! lol saw the tag hanging and thought of it but I am never going to admit that again!!!!!

Kind of reminds me of the old friendship charms back in the 80's. They could clip onto a necklace, which is what most of the girls did, or onto anything else.

I have to say thank you. If I didn't read this thread, I would have completely forgotten about DS7's wad of Silly Banz in my pocket

That could have been a huge drama. Silly Banz in the washer and EEKKKK the dryer!!! DD had one she loved. I think it was a tie dye giraffe. She would put it one and off etc. She just loved it. She took it off on the deck and it fell right down a crack...bye bye giraffe. DRAMA!!

I wish I had thought of the idea of Silly Bandz. Those things sell like hot cakes. Drives me a little nutty though.

DS7's have already gone in the washer and dryer. They survived it and of course, he didn't even know about it.

I'm just amazed that he doesn't play with them or take them on and off like his friends do. Once he puts it on, they stay on, unless they start to get in his way like with bowling last night. I also think it may have something to do with his teacher. They are allowed to wear them. However, if they play with them or try to trade them in school, she takes it away until the end of the day.

But with any new fad, there will come a time where Silly Banz will be out and no longer the in thing. Although, I've noticed that the way the kids wear them, remind me of the jelly rings I wore back in the 80's.

True. But someone is making mad money in the mean time.
