Cooollllll.....all I ever get is my big dopey St. Bernard-Daisy, lol.

Cool. I've been fighting a losing battle against a couple of raccoons that have been visiting the garbage can the last few nights.

<font color=navy>That is cool.

When they were building the Home Depot Soccer stadium by my house, some critters were displaced, so we saw a couple of oppossums and raccoons. Our cat was fine with the oppossum, but was scared to death of the raccon.

This may be a dumb question but what is the difference between a possum and an "oppossum"? I had only heard of a possum until the reference above to "oppossum".

pos·sum ( P ) Pronunciation Key (psm)
n. Chiefly Southern U.S.
An opossum.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Short for opossum.]
Regional Note: Since English is a language that stresses some syllables and not others, weakly stressed syllables, especially those preceding strong stresses, are dropped at times. This process, called aphesis when it occurs at the beginning of a word, is more common in regional American dialects than in the more conservative Standard English, which tends to retain in pronunciation anything reflected in spelling. Although many American dialects feature aphesis, it is most famous in the dialects of the South, where it yields pronunciations such as count of for (on) account of, tater for potato, possum for opossum, and skeeter for mosquito

a oppossum lives in the city, a "possum" lives in the country;)

they are are sure bet to find on your backporch or patio if you have a bowl of pet food out :D

We may think that we live in a city but we have to remember our city is in the middle of the bush...:p

Oh... and that is Cool Whip Lite on his face..Wouldn't want him to get too fat!!! LOL

This picture was taken at 7:45 PM off our back deck he was maybe twenty feet away from us..... and when I tried to scare him away he decided to make sure there was no food left in the garbage can and walked towards us. He was maybe five feet below us on the deck before he decided to head out the back yard to the bush...

I am not sure where he had his main meal but he had dessert at our place LOL

the little critters are fine with me, but I don't think I could handle what you've got in your yard.

I thought it was going to be a picture of Willy.

EWEWEWEWEWEWEWWWWWWWW!!!

I absolutely DESPISE those rodents, and rodents of all kinds, actually.

Ick. :p
