I was going through some old pictures and look what I found:

Main street looks so....plain! And so narrow!

Anyone else have pics of the castle you would like to share?

Oh my! How old is that picture? And what IS that sugary confection in the background? Please don't tell me it's Cinderella's castle. Is that WDW? Burning questions...

On the other hand, what fun it is to look back. I have one lone picture from Frontierland taken on my first trip to WDW in 1978. (Yes, I am getting to be an old fart.) The only thing that dates the picture is, well, us! My kiddos look at it and marvel at the bell bottoms and platform shoes I had on...hee hee hee! :lmao:

How cool! It does look so plain! I remember reading about when the castle was covered with candy! Thanks for sharing!

:rotfl: This was in 1997. I was in my first year of teaching and my cousins asked me to go to Disney with them and their children. I was young...22...and didn't realize I was being asked to go for babysitting purposes :rolleyes1

If I can find it, I have a picture from the 80's...I remember wearing my Wham shirt!!! Gotta love the 80's!

I went the year that the castle was pink.....I realized that there actually was a way to remove the Magic from the castle! It was a horrible sight!

Saw many pictures of the castle that way. Glad I didn't see it in person.

Funny just said in another thread that I would never see WDW at Christmastime, but only through pictures and was glad the pictures were posted.

uggh! I'd forgotten how yucky the castle looked! :rotfl:

I'll have to dig around and see if I can find a pic from 1984 - my first trip...

We also could not wait until the cake decorations were removed and the castle returned to normal. It was awful to look at as a castle.

This was certainly not the castle's best look!! Maybe it needed some help from the show "What not to wear" :rotfl2:

what were they thinking :confused3 :confused3

Yikes!!! That is scary. I have seen it before, but for some reason, that angle makes it even worse.

I heard somewhere that many brides scrambled to change their picture locations when they saw that nightmare.

Can you imagine showing up for your wedding pictures in front of Cinderella's castle and seeing that? :scared1:

AAGGGHHHH! The Pepto Bismol Nightmare!!!! I was there....for my HONEYMOON! All of our pictures have that horrible pink monstrocity in them. It was awful!

No kidding! Everyone who saw the pictures would be asking, "I thought you got married at the Magic Kingdom, not Willy Wonka's candy factory!" :rotfl:

I'm pretty sure Disney would NEVER do this again! :crazy2: :crazy2:

I liked it too! Not that I like it better that way, but I've seen the castle in it's original form numerous times. It was fun to see something different for a while.

It's funny to see so many trees partially blocking the view of the castle. The castle now looks like it is raised somewhat off the street (maybe because of the stage???)
