Look what I did! (pic)

Thanks!
And thanks for sharing, Stinkerbelle!
(but I got the tattoos.. couldn't get the naval piercing just yet since I'm still healing from the tummy tuck. I'm bummed about it!!!)

Frustrated--
The butterfly only hurt on the outlining.
The Mickey icon hurt worse- but the tattoo artist TOLD me it was going to hurt more... he said because the skin there is tougher than other places and so they have to pierce deeper to get the ink in there. He wasn't kidding... it hurt more than I thought!

But please keep in mind that I'm a total wuss- so when I say it hurt... to most people that wouldn't really be pain. AND since I'm a total wuss- it really says something that I not only got one tattoo- but went back the next day for another one. So the pain can't be all that bad... I just have a really LOW threshold for pain. A scratch that bleeds and I'm crying. LOL

Thanks BBB! That helps! I would love to get up the nerve! But I don't like things to hurt!

I totally understand! Pain is one of the BIGGEST reasons why in the past I'd never dream that I'd have a tattoo- much less any other piercings on my body. But I've heard that naval piercings don't hurt at all (and many had theirs done while we were there getting tattoos and they all said it didn't hurt at all)- so that's why I decided I'd try that... but when that didn't work, I guess I was so bummed I got up the nerve for the butterfly!
And then I figured I lived through that (LOL) -that I could handle another one! But you see it is a LITTLE one ... the 2nd one even smaller than the first. LOL I don't think I could ever get a big one like some women have on their lower backs and such. That just seems like so much pain for so LONG! I mean those big ones take forever! I don't think with my low threshold for pain that I could take it. They'd get 1/3 of the way through and I'd be running outta there. LOL

Tattoo's are addictive I love getting them done but have to tell myself to slow down or I will end up with 100's of them I am stuck at 5 right now.

LOL
you are so right! I went from "I'll never get a tattoo" to getting one... then getting another one the very next day and already thinking about getting more! (I was thinking of getting Disney characters around my other ankle- all the way around. I must be losing my mind... I'll probably never do it -that has to hurt! LOL)

I don't want to be one of those people that has tattoos all over! (Because I don't want to end up regretting any of them and then start paying a fortune to get them lasered and all that)
So I better stop now...

My wife wants to get a Disney themed band around her right bicep all the fab 5 like the temporary tattoo you can get @ WDW.

Ack! That sounds neat- but I can only IMAGINE the pain of going to that sensitive underneath area of the arm! NO WAY would I ever get a tattoo going around my arm because of that. ouch ouch!

/
Actually arond the arm and back by your shoulder blade are 2 of the easiest places to get them with little pain the most painfull or one of the most painfull is on the ankle. When I was in University I was supposed to get my FRAT letters on my ankle under neath it actually but passed on that one.

The OUTSIDE of the arm is the least painful (and back like you said) because you have less nerves there. But I was talking about inside your arm... like under your arm.. and there's no way you can get me to believe that would hurt less than the ankle. I'm TENDER under there! LOL

Actually the last one I got I went with one of my buddies and he got a band around his arm and said it was nothing even on the bottom/under side of his arm. The thing with the ankle area right by the bone is just that it is right by the bone and there is no real ammount of flesh there to soften the needle impact and that is why it hurts so much.

I actually wanted a Harley Quinn tattoo on my lower back about 2 years ago. I had the artwork in hand and went to the tattoo artist to get it done. I guess it must have been a sign for me not to do it, 'cause the one that needed to do it wasn't there...and he wouldn't be back for another week.

Good thing I didn't...I wouldn't want Harley saggin' on my back in 40 years!!:teeth:

LOL
I hear ya... but hopefully my ankle and toe won't be sagging in 40yrs.. those aren't normally saggy areas. LOL

Actually the last one I got I went with one of my buddies and he got a band around his arm and said it was nothing even on the bottom/under side of his arm.

Just because it was nothing to him on the underside of his arm- doesn't mean it wouldn't be to others. I have discussed this with others that I know that have it under the arm- and they said it hurt worse there. Also the tattoo artist (of over 20yrs) mentioned the outer arm/shoulder area as the ones that hurt the least.. he did not say under the arm hurts the least too. He did not mention that area as one of the least hurting.... trust me, I am NEVER going to get a tattoo going around to that under area- it's too sensitive there! LOL

Hey BBB I commend you on getting any at all most people chicken out before they ever walk through the door of the place.

LOL I was like most people before this.. I only walked through the doors to get a naval piercing that didn't end up happening. I probably never would have went there solely for a tattoo. I guess I just had to be there... had thought about it so often but never would have went JUST for the tattoo. LOL

Hey BBB, your tattoos are really cute, but I'm more interested in hearing about your tummy tuck.:D I'd love to have one done, three kids at almost 10 lbs each have sort of done my belly in!! Are they very expensive if you don't mind my asking, and how long was the recovery? Can you really notice the difference, enough to even get your navel pierced? Wow, that would be so great. Looking forward to your reply.

Hey there!
I'd be glad to answer your questions about the TT!

About very expensive-well, that's in the eye of the beholder. LOL I mean what's expensive to me may not be to you- or vice versa. Tummy tucks can vary immensely in price depending on area, plastic surgeon, as well as what type of tummy tuck you are getting and how extensive the surgery (for instance if you also need muscle repair like I did).

It was 7 to 10 days before I got the drains out (which really helps to keep from swelling- they took one out each day for 3 days- I had 3 drains...some people just have 2)- after that I was pretty much healed on the incision. As for recovery- it took about 2wks before I was COMPLETELY standing up straight... about a week before that I was standing almost straight. Nothing hurt after the drains were taken out... the drains are the only thing that hurt me. All my stitches but one were inside- he took the one out at 2wks post op. The rest of recovery "rules" are similar to c-sections... no driving for 2-3wks, no heavy lifting or heavy exercising for 4-6wks, etc. You wear a compression garment or girdle constantly for the first 2wks (atleast with my PS) and then for 2-3wks wear it 12hrs a day. I just wore it constantly 2wks then some days constantly... some days I'd have it off for a few hours or something... only recently have I gone all day without it but still wear it at night because it just feels better to have it holding me in cause I sleep on my side.

Tomorrow I'll be 6wks post op and I've felt "normal" for a couple of weeks now.. no soreness from driving, no swelling by evening time, etc. I'm going to Jamaica in less than 2wks- if that tells you anything about the recovery. :)

I can TOTALLY notice a difference. I had very stretched out saggy skin from my pregnancies (not big babies but I had polyhydramnios- way too much fluids- with all my 3 babies) above and below my belly button... which no longer looked like a belly button either. Those pregnancies also stretched out my muscles a LOT- he said he had to do very extensive muscle repair because they were so stretched out. I believe it.. I'd lost 75lbs last year and my stomach still stuck out like I was 8mo pregnant if I didn't hold it in- and it wasn't fat... it was like my muscles were so loose it was letting my guts hang out too far or something. He tightened all that up and stitched it up inside.
I totally wanted that naval piercing-but it was just too soon as the tissue underneath around the naval was still hard from scar tissue healing there. I'll get it someday... when the skin is softer and more pliable there later.

Check out this board- you can get a lot of info there from others who have either had tummy tucks or will be soon:
