I was looking over some of the pictures from our Dec trip. I had to laugh at the look on my oldest daughter's face!:p We were heading into Alien Encounter...which is her very least favorite ride in the world! Doesn't she just look SO HAPPY?!

This is one person who is thrilled that they are revamping this attraction! :bounce:

I am smiling mom, now take the PICTURE!!!:jester:

LOL Colleen, I take it that picture was taken on Monday or Thrusday! Am I right?

lol...she just looks thrilled...

Yes that was taken Monday! Guess all the yellow gave it away!! If you remember, it rained 1/2 day Monday, 1/2 day Tues, 1/2 Thurs and 1/2 Fri!!!:earseek: In some of the photos, when it wasn't raining, you could see one of us holding the large WDW bag with all the wet ponchos in! :p

Cute pic!!!

Did someone say they are revamping the Alien Encounter attraction? WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!! Where have I been.....who has the details? When is it happening? I have never liked that attraction. Not b/c I think it is scary or anything, I just think it is dumb and boring, and always has too long of a line!!!!

This was on WDWMagic.com

Further to the 16 September 2002 update below, it is now almost 100% certain that the Stitch makeover will happen over at Alien Encounter. As plans stand, Alien Encounter will close February 2004, and will reopen in October 2004 with the new Stitch storyline. A budget of around $10 million is being used to rework the attraction, including the creation of Stitch Audio Animatronics beginning this summer at WDI. As always, this is not officially released information, and may be subject to change.

We had done this ride on our last trip and it totally freaked her out...more so than her younger sister. Right before we left, there was a special on the Travel Channel that showed how they made this ride work. She had wanted to go in and 'see' it for herself...you can tell by her expression she was having some MAJOR second thoughts! :bounce:

<font color=navy>Colleen, that reminds me of the time I took my own rascals to see AE. My ds was 11, & dd was 10, and their cousin was 11. Both my dd & the cousin had to sit in the middle. After we experienced it, my DD exclaimed, "That was sooo cool! I want to go on it again, this time with my eyes open!" :teeth:

LOL, that is so funny!

And MJ, your story made me LOL too.

My oldest has a love/hate thing going with Alien Encounter, its all he talks about until he gets in line, and then changes his mind at the last (and too late!) minute. :) Yet, whenever we talk about our upcoming trip to WDW, he always mentions how much he wants to go on it. :teeth:

I find it very interesting that they are going to incorporate Stitch into AE, though. I bet that will be awesome! :)

Wow Colleen, thanks for the info. A stitch remake sounds so cute. I know this is sad to admit, but I am behind the times in my Disney movie watching. I only just saw Lilo and Stitch for the first time this past weekend when my good pal and Dis buddy Scarlett ( ) let my borrow her DVD!! I thought it was so cute!! I will be excited at least for this remake....now if we were talking about my beloved SSE..... :(

i've never been on AE...don't care to experience AE...even if stitch was there!! unless it was funny and not scary...i hate scary things!!

 Disney845!!

I never thought AE was scary at all. I imagine kids find it frightening, though.

Your daughter looks totally underwhelmed in this photo, Colleen. You have three pretty daughters :)

I do not get along with that ride. Not because it is so scary...but that thing that straps you in.....it is over you and around you, and I felt totally "trapped" in it and started having an anxiety attack! I'm not afraid of the ride....I'm afraid of the darn harness thingy. :p

I'll be sure NOT to tell my son Kirk what you said!!;)

When Kirk was a baby, people would always tell me how pretty SHE was! I used to smile politely and say, "Yes, HE is!"

What a cute pic. :) I love AE but I decided not to take my niece and and nephew who were 9 and 8 on it the last time. They scare pretty easily.

When I was a baby everyone would say what a cute little boy I was. My mom would correct them and they'd say "Then why'd you cut her hair so short?" She never cut my hair it just didn't really grow until I was about 3.
