Ordered my new laptop today and tried to order BT's wireless homehub thingy BUT I've got to get a MAC number from my broadband provider - except I don't have one?!?

and karen, it always baffles me too that they ask people for an email address before they sign up to any internet service - surely a lot of people don't have one, hence the signing up!

You get a MAC code by contacting your current broadband provider, and requesting one. Its how they can then switch you to the new provider.
