You know, my DH just shared with me during his recent illness that his biggest fear in life is not that he will die from this disease, but that something will happen to ME. He was almost in tears. He said he knows he could not manage our diverse household alone and he didn't know how he would do it. I guess I better take out more life insurance so he can get a housekeeper!

That would be my biggest fear as well. It almost makes you want to make extra sure everyone in your family eats better, and gets exersize, get all those medical tests... and all that jazz.

Closest to me is my fat cat, Chester. He's right here on my desk.

His life would suck without me. I'm the one who feeds him every time he cries for food, I clean his litterbox, I give him treats, I let him sleep on my lap - he'd be lost without me.

The only person in the house with me is my daughter. If I wasn't here, she would have to go live with her irresponsible father who only wants her when it's convenient for him. I'd better not die.

My 8 year old son is curled up on the couch next to me. I don't want to think about not watching him grow up.

There is no one in the room with me right now but my cat and dog. Poor things probably wouldn't be fed for days because I am the one who takes care of them and no one would think about it. They would get water though, because that is one of DS's chores.

The closest person to me right now is my son, who is sleeping across the hall. I don't even want to think about what his life would be like.

Well, closest to me right now is my 13yo son... I know that I'm very important to him even though he's becoming a very independent teenager. About 1/2 hour ago my 7yo was curled up next to me while I was reading to him...I can't even think about what a difficult time he would have if I weren't here.
