I'm sorry, that sucks. DH got laid off a little over a month ago after 18 years with the same company, his whole "team" was let go and they ranged from 10 - 29 years of senority. He has no clue how to proceed but we are slowly working out the kinks and muddling our way through

The longest I have been anywhere was 8 years at my last job, I am currently on year 6 with my current employer.

ETA: DH had only one job after college for 33 years. He retired 11 years ago.

Wow, didn't think any company paid pensions anymore.

One company I worked for got bought up by another corporation that had only been around a 3 years....a lot of us were on the books with hire dates that were years before the new company existed.

My record is 16 years before being let go by new owners. I was in my previous job 12 years. Been in my current job 5 years.
My wife has been with her company for 32 years.
My mom worked for the same company for 37 years before retiring.

In August I will be at my new job for a year.

Love the new job, was hating the old job so mabe it was a blessing.


DH was at his job just a few months shy of 20 yrs, now unemployed for 13 months. He is always saying he "doesn't know how to find a job"
