Just curious. We are taking two "tweens" (12-13) to Disney this year.

Hmm--I would wager that Stormalong Bay. Although the new castle slide at OKW is pretty long too.

I would say it's probably SAB, which is like a small waterpark. Tweens would love it. I've read on these boards that OKW has the fastest slide.

I've been on the OKW slide before and it IS fast.

What are the specs of the AKL pool? I haven't been in it before, but we'll be staying there twice this year and since we can't hop to SAB it would be the most convienient. However, if any of the others (aside from SAB) is better we wouldn't mind taking the kids. We have never been in SSR or BWV's pool either so we're clueless :confused3

My kids (DD14 DS10) really enjoyed the pool(s) at SSR. The main pool has a zero entry and a good slide. The Grandstand Pool has a great splash/squirt area that is probably designed for small kids, but my kids and quite a few teens seemed to have a very good time there ;)

We stayed at BWV in December and the kids were disappointed with the "clown pool". They said the slide was "ok" and the pool itself seemed much smaller.

Haven't stayed at AKV, so I really can't comment on that, but I'm sure someone will soon :)

Okay here are the slide ratings from my boys (11 & 6)

1. SAB-loved it, long walk to get back in line.
2. SSR-elder one likes this better than SAB, more slides/hr,
3. VWL-okay but not as good as SSR.

They now want to try BWV to rate that slide, though my elder is somewhat of a clownaphobe. :lmao:

I would pick BCV...the slide at stormalong bay is long and fast.

Your boys are old enough that they can go back and forth to the
slide without you...It is a hike.

I don't think there is any doubt the SAB slide is the longest. And having done both OKW and SAB, I don't think our OKW slide is any faster.

Keep in mind, however, that you cannot pool-hop to SAB -- you have to be staying there, and they do check.

SAB is long - its also tunnelled for a bit - as is OKW. BWV is not quite as long and not tunnelled. The current AKL slide is a short one, as is the VWL slide. SSR and SAB have toddler slides in addition to their big slide.

If you want to experience the greatest number of slides it would be best to stay at BCV so you can use SAB and pool-hop to all of the others (except AKL). Remember though that pool hopping does have some blackout dates and also may not be available at times when the pool is at occupancy with it's own resort guests. It's best to call ahead for any pool hopping for permission.

Enjoy! :)

pool hopping to the poly is great, the volcano slide is wonderful, but the pool is lacking. good view of mk while sitting. there.
