Longer Stay or Better Resort

I definitely would choose to upgrade from value and stay a shorter amount of time. As others have said, I just couldn't handle the full size bed and get any sleep at all. The values aren't for me, although I stayed at POFQ one time and loved it. But it was only DH and I and we each had our own bed.
We use the resort amentities too. We have been to WDW so many times, that we no longer do the Parks commando style and the resort is very much a part of our vacation.

No choice here-----stay longer!!!!!! All of the disney resorts are clean and comfortable and all you usually do in them is change clothes and sleep. So go and stay longer. Make lots of more memories!!!!

We go at least once per year (sometimes more if school/work schedule allows) and stay deluxe, usually 4-5 nights. This is plenty for us as we do go so often, plus we have the luxury of being able to drive so no airfare to factor in. We stayed moderate once and said never again. DH is also 6'2" and needs at least a queen sized bed, so values are out.

It really depends on how you like to vacation at WDW. We have gone many times so we go at a much slower pace now. The resort is a huge part of our trip and we spend a lot of time enjoying where we are staying. Even my kids would opt for a couple of days swimming! We have even taken trips to WDW where we don't do the parks at all! Also, DH is a resort snob!LOL I was able to sometimes get away with a value or mod for 1 night but not anymore. So, for us it would definately be shorter stay, upgraded resort.

I've never had a problem with the bed size as some posters have said here. That's probably because I reserve a "King bed" at Port Orleans. Only one bed in the room, but it's a big one. (By the way, I think all the king bed rooms at Port Orleans are corner rooms, which are just a bit larger rooms than the other rooms, but I might be wrong about that.)

Enjoy.

The resort is part of our overall vacation...so..

CBR 7 nights:thumbsup2

If it is your dream to stay longer, then it would be worth trying it at a value. We used to dream of a longer stay, but when we did it found that we preferred no longer than 7 ngts - a couple of days would be park free resort days. :)

UPGRADE! No question. I've not stayed in a value resort, but once on a trip we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas and my cousin and her family were staying at Pop Century. We went over there to meet up with them and it was a total zoo! I can't relax in that atmosphere. I enjoy coming back to my resort after being at the park and relaxing by the pool, -- it was just so loud and crazy by the pool there. Not for us. No question about it.

Longer stay definitely  I can sleep anywhere, don't need a queen bed. My kids are still little, so we do better with food court food than fancy restaurants, and we don't use spa facilities. The values are, IMO, great for kids - they really have the "Disney" feel, and the pools are great! I would love to be able to stay for 12 days!!!

I don't think I would enjoy 12 days at a value resort. I think I would stay at a better resort for fewer days.:confused3

Have you considered a split stay? We're doing a value for 7 nights and a deluxe for 3 nights at the end in December. We're perfectly comfortable in the value resorts, but know we won't spend as much time in the parks the last few days, so we decided to upgrade (and initiate some first-timers into the joys of WDW deluxe resorts).

You could do the same with a value and moderate. More time at the value initially, a few nights at the moderate as you relax and and prepare to return home. It's nice to have the refrigerator, coffeemaker and a wee bit more space. :)

What ever you do, please yourselves and your budget. :thumbsup2

12 days at a value would be my choice.

:wizard: Given the choice, would you rather stay at a better resort, or stay at a value for a longer time? :confused3 My daughter and I have stayed at the All Star Movies and then upgraded the past 2 years to the CBR...This coming August we have to decide if we want to go back to the CBR for one week, or stay at a Value for 12 days....any advice??

This would be a no-brainer question for me - longer stay, of course! We'll be at the resort to sleep, eat most breakfasts (we'll probably send some of us to the cafeteria to bring back breaky for all of us, then eat on the grounds) and spend a bit of time in the pools for the children. That's it. NO WAY would I give up extra Disney days for a bit more space or a waterslide kwim? :confused3

Of course, maybe that's just me LOL :rotfl2:

I vote for a longer stay. Many people feel that there is not enough difference between a value and a moderate to justify the additional cost.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I agree longer stay....

thats why we're doing AKL next year....10 days there is around the same price as 7 at GF or BC.

7 days is too rushed for me!

:lmao: ...I call a foul...you can't answer this one by choosing between one deluxe vs another deluxe...:rotfl2:

I wish I had this dilemma. I can't even get away for seven days so 10 is out of the question. So far 5 nights has been my max. I paid for it when I got back, but would do it again in a heartbeat! :thumbsup2

By the way we are planning a 2008 AKL adventure rather than return to CBR. We liked CBR, but are excited to try AKL.

Call me a snob but I'd rather not go if I can't stay at a deluxe. We use so much of what the resort offers that I won't consider anything else.

Upgrade and shorter stay. We love the Poly. Guess we are spoiled but that is what we do. A shorter stay at a Deluxe. I could never take 12 days at a value. I have kids and they just love the poly too. I would definitely do a shorter stay at a better resort. We do the parks but we also enjoy our resort as well. The swimming is a big activity for my kids too. The relaxing atmosphere is very important to us. After going crazy at the parks we need some down time.

Good luck with whatever you choose.
