Long wearing makeup?

Hiya

Can't believe there is a thread on this, woo hooo! I assumed I was the only person who would even consider wearing make up to a theme park!

On my previous trips, I've always intended to wear it so I look nice for photos, but end up not bothering because half way through the day, it feels all clogged and sweaty.

What do you do about sunscreen? I don't want to burn! We'll be going last week of March, first week of April so the sun is quite strong and I am fair-skinned and normally need like a factor 30 suncream... any ideas?

Thanks,
Rachel x

I am fair and wear Neutrogena Dry Touch sunscreen. I think I use the 45 or 60.

I like the Neutrogena dry touch spray with helioplex. Being from the south, I never go outside without sunscreen and always use the highest spf I can get. I like that the Neutrogena dry touch comes in spf 75 and spf 100.

I have two ideas. Have you thought about having your eyelashes dyed? Then they'll look great without having to use mascara.

For your skin, a tinted moisturizing cream with SPF I think would work well. I can't remember the name, but there's one that won't be affected by sweat on your face, it'll stay put very nicely.

Can't help with lipstick, since I only use it for special dinner/occasions, and I end up wiping it off after a few minutes. Get a packet of salt, rub it on your lips, and you'll have luscious red lips all day, and no it doesn't burn.:rotfl:

Think you must be on the same wave length as me, as this is almost exactly what I suggested - well apart from the salt suggestion ;)

Urban Decay Primer Potion for eyeshadow. Eye shadow stays on all day, no creasing, etc. I have oily skin and if i could find the face primer equivalent of this stuff I would pay a million dollars for it! this is the one product i've found over YEARS of trying every new product that i can say I will never live without.

In FL heat I only wear a bit of eye make up an lipstick. But the I keep avery dark tan year round too so I really don't need color.

I use either Loreal eye primer or Monistat smoothing gel as a primer before puttin on eye shadow. Believe it or not I'm using a CVS brand of eye shadow that I got right after Christmas at half price. 1.75 for 2 of my kits an 5.00 for a lager kit. They wear ALL DAY an long into the night.

Mascara I've always used Maybeline or Cover girl cheap stuff. I tried the more expensive an could tell no difference.

I seldom wear eyeliner not found one in years that I'm happy with.

I'm also in the market for some cheap good lipstick been using the Loreal that came in the long slim sticks but they quit making that....it always wears well tho a bit dry on the lips after wearing it awhile. I need a moister yet long wearing that won't run off into my wrinkles an disappear. Maybe hide the wrinkles a bit.

I have never heard of getting eyelashes tinted before.
Where do you go to have that done?

Pretty much all beauticians do it for you now. If they do nails/tans/waxing - they'll likely do tinting as well :goodvibes

i use clinique and it stays really well in the parks. . . i also agree with the pp about eyelid primer . . i also use urban decay and it works great. on our honeymoon trip i used physicians formula baked shadow and it stayed on all day with no primer in august :goodvibes

I use Clinique too, and it's been great. I only wear Clinique tinted moisturizer & their waterproof mascara to the parks and no meltdowns for me. I usually visit in mid July/early August so I'm sweltering, lol. My pictures come out nice, though. I also suggest their long last glosswear lipgloss spf 15. It comes in an array of colors & IMO is great for the summer since it has the spf. It has mirror-like shine and lasts practically all day for me.

I agree with Color Stay by Revlon! I have tried just about every eyeliner there is, and their eyeliner is the best. Goes on nice and easy, and doesn't come off until you want it off! I also use L'oreal Infallible base make-up and lip gloss. I like natural mascara since I have very thin, long, blonde lashes and just want them to not be invisible, so I believe Cover Girl makes some very awesome stuff (I forget what it's called but it is in a purple tube) that just adds a little color and defines without being clumpy.

I have to say that a new Ulta opened up near us a few years ago, and when it did, I was like a kid in a candy store, buying everything! I tried the more expensive stuff, and to me, it hasn't been worth the cost.

I am a Bare Minerals Girl all the way!
I have very oily acne prone skin and my skin has thanked me and changed so much since i started using this! I been using it for I dunno about 6 yrs now and have seen so much improvement in my skin. I did recently switch to the new Matte Version they have & I use the oil free Primer( havent gotten up the nerve to use Monistat Chaffing gel yet instead LOL) & eye lid primer. I usually put the primer on the forehead and cheeks and lids & then moisturize around my mouth and on my neck and what not where i tend to be dry.

I don't do everything in the line though (just the basic face items) I use the cheaper stuff for my eyes and I only wear glosses for my lips!

I have always been a fan of Maybelline Great Lash waterproof & I recently come to love their Falsies waterproof mascara.

I would love to find a good liner though ..i have allergies and my eyes tend to itch and water alot so by the end of the day i tend to have rubbed half of my liner off. I can only good with a pencil and i do tend to set it with a matching shadow which helps some!

I do feel the Eyelid primer definately helps keep the shadow longer though!

I love Urban Decay's 24/7 liner. I put it on in the morning and it doesn't budge until I take it off at night.

I used Great Lash mascara, and that stuff does not come off until you want it too. Even after getting a face-full of water on Splash Mountain, it stayed put.:thumbsup2

If you like a liquid foundation then Make Up Forever is great. If you prefer a powder/mineral foundation then try Pur Minerals which you can find at Ulta or Drugstore.com, for me it stays on better than Bare Minerals. Either way use a good primer, I really like the Pur Minerals primer because it doesn't make my face feel oily and it creates a nice matte finish so you can actually use less makeup.

For lips Revlon Colorstay lipcolor (it comes in a lip gloss looking tube). You have to put it on and not touch your lips together until it drys - then use a good chapstick after it's dry.

For eyes try Tarte Waterproof Mascara.

Another idea - oil blotting sheets are great to get rid of shine from heat and humidity plus they're so light weight and small they can easily be carried with you.

I use make up forever and its long lasting I also use sephora make up it last well. But for my eyeshadow I love to use smashbox and mascara urban decay. The make I buy is expensive but does not come off so easily.:cheer2::cheer2:
