Long wait for a Wii?

Nintendo will be launching the Wii on 2nd December in Japan. It still hasn't named a launch date for Europe or the US. Only to say it will cost no more that $250 in the US.

Looks like a bit of a scramble for Christmas then.

Yup, 19 November for $249.99 (CAD$279.99 in Canada).

I hate these pre Christmas launches, no one ever seems to get them right. I needed two Xbox 360's last year for the kids' Christmas presents. Preordered back in May, didn't arrive on launch. Found a couple of cores from Gameplay a week later, ordered them, went out for extras, came back, logged on to Play and low and behold it, my two Premiums had been packed. So I ended up having 4 of them. Fortunately, I was able to sell the cores on (at cost price) to a couple of lads in the area on avforums.

Thankfully the kids are not after the Wii. but I understand how frustrating it is waiting for these launches.

I feel so sorry for the people who have to go and get these new consoles.. Namely my parents!

My Dbf is being a right pain cos that's the exact day we're going to WDW.
He keeps moaning about how he'll be thinking about playing it the whole time and how other people will be playing but he won't be able to! You'd think he was 3 not 23!
I mean don't get me wrong the Wii is exciting, but nowhere near as exciting as he's making out! And nowhere near as exciting as WDW!

I've just read this and there is a UK release date. There is also a link to amazon so they can message you when you can pre order
