long torso bathing suits for an 7 yr old girl?

Okay my 7 yr old (almost 8) has a VERY VERY long torso.. she is in a 10/12 bathing suit because of it.. and its getting to the point of leaving strap marks on her arms its pretty loose otherwise... do they make long torso bathing suits? I'd rather not get a 2 piece just a reg. swimsuit... but I need it in like a 9 long for girls... do they make them?

Are you sure that's not me at that age....or my DD who is about to be 5? Ugh the life of those of us who are "long"....tell her to hang in there...she may hate it now, but she'll LOVE it when she's older

I really think that a long 1 piece that a 7 year old would like might be a hard find. I love a little 2 piece for my DD...she's comfortable and it makes life SOOOOO much easier when she has to go potty.....we aren't tugging & pulling trying to get a wet 1 piece back on.

Its so fustrating! Even with normal clothes.. no one makes tall kids clothes.. I'm always buying her 2 sizes too big so they aren't belly shirts.. and pants.. I wont even get started on those.. someone needs to tell some company out there Yes there are TALL not plus size kids in the world who DO need clothes that fit!! My dd who is 5 (almost 6) is tall too but super skinny at least they make slim clothes.. why not tall??? aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh

Have any of you ever checked a catalog or website that specializes in racing suits. They all come in different lengths. I was a swimmer growing up and they made them in different lengths...Now I was short but I believe I am going to have the same problem as you all my daughters dad is 6'9!!!!! And she is tall and very skinny!

Try speedo, TYR....there are lots of websites out there...and they have come along way in being alot cuter than they were in my day!

we have the same issue with my oldest. she's 9, but we've had the problem since she was about 2. we had to buy two piece suits. (you can find some where the top is longer and it covers more like a one piece than a bikini) trying to go up enough sizes for the length did not work because they were so baggy that she was uncomfortable.

I'm guessing you've already tried two pieces?

I know bikinis don't work for everyone, like me (heck I look awful in any bathing suit but I'm getting off-topic), but have you tried tankinis? For some reason you can hardly find them around anymore, but I think I remeber seeing them in Beans catalog.

As far as actual long-torso suits go, I just googled it found nothing.

they have some nwe takinis at disney store right now. The top is almost a full shirt. These might work.

My dd is also a long torso. She prefers the tankini. She's two different sizes anyway...a 7 on top and a 5 on the bottom..so this works out great for us..And the tankini is long enough to be modest and not show too much tummy area.

Hanna Andersson has tankini's that you can buy seperately so if you need 2 different sizes you can get them there. They are having a big sale so alot of sizes are sold out but its definitely worth a look.

My daughter has a long torso too (like her mother). This year I bought her swim shirts and bottoms. The swim shirts gave her a lot of coverage but it was easy for her to go to bathroom because there were two pieces.

I have bought the Land's End long torso suits for me and I really like them.

I'm with everyone else who suggested either the tankini style or the speedo brand. My 7 (almost 8 too) DD is very, very long waisted (me too.) One piece suits don't work on her except her swim team suits - they are actually a different size - I believe this year's is a 10/24 instead of just a 24. With the tankini's we buy a lot of separates - different types of bottoms, a couple of swim shirts (short sleeved) and a few tankini tops that are pretty must cover her entire front.

i've always had to buy my dd8 2-piece bathing suits, from when she was a toddler.* 1-piece ones just never fit her.* she has a few that are the tankini style to be more covered, and she now has a few bikinis (but they aren't too small), but if people are over or we're somewhere like disney, she'll opt to wear a swim-shirt over the bikini.* That's what I see more girls doing than anything else around here.* I even just went and bought myself a swim-shirt at Modells (it's a teen boys one, but who cares, it covers me).*

My dd's are both long in the middle and I have never had luck with a one peice. Like PP's we LOVE the lands end tankini - gives as much coverage and "modesty" as a once peice with the convenience of a two peice.

Some find them pricey but IMHO they are made very well, we live at the lake for the summer and they spend 24/7 in a suit from mid June to the end of August no other suit lasts.
