I know it's really bad for to have my intro post be me asking for something, but desperate times call for desperate measures...

I am in Orlando right now, attending a conference, and I had resigned myself to the fact that for this trip I would be within driving distance to MK but would not be able to visit. The conference I am attending goes for most of the day, and I just couldn't get there in time to really make the ticket cost worth it.

Then I had an epiphany today - the Very Merry Christmas Party is happening, and I've never been, and it usually means extended MK hours.

So I rushed over to the ticket site only to see with disappointment that Thursday's event is sold out.

I have tried everything - posted to reddit and another site, called a couple times, chatted online with the live help, tried my hotel concierge... all came up empty, hence this post.

I am posting hear to see if anyone out there might now of a way to buy a ticket to the Thursday night party, or maybe know of someone who planned to go that cannot use their ticket?

I know it's a desperate move, but I just can't stand being down here and not visiting MK, and also having never been to MVMCP I really want to go.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Not a bad first post at all! :)

But to be honest, there is no way I would try to get in to MVMCP knowing it's already sold out.

Nope. No way.

But that's just me.

Why is that? Because it's too crowded? How does it compare to MNSSHP when its sold out? I was there on a sold-out night and thought it was really empty :confused3:

Disney sets a hard amount and once that's reached that's it. No 3rd party sells Christmas party tickets so their wont be any "laying" around. A sold out party and a moderately busy regular day at MK feel very different.

It's just my personal preference. I've been on a not-sold-out night, and I've been on a sold out night. The sold out night, for me, was far more crowded and I made a personal commitment that I would never pay to do that again.

I've never been on an MNSSHP night so I can't compare.

how different though? better or worse?

Good luck to you OP! I can't help you but I'm sending you some pixie dust. pixiedust: I hope you find someone who can't go.

Our resort had MVMCP tickets they were selling for that night's "sold-out" party - so maybe try off-site resorts?

A sold out party is less busy than even an average regular MK day. So you can still get much more done at a sold out party than during regular hours. Party = less crowds + all the extras.

Success! Ticket arrived yesterday at noon and at 4:01 I entered the park. I got super nervous when the turnstile took a while to OK the RFID card but then it went green and I was in!

My legs are now very tired.

Longest I waited was 20min for the haunted mansion early in the evening. Mine train was 15min wait the first time, 10 the second. I rode it during the fireworks which was pretty fun to see/hear them going off overhead as I was zooming around. I did pretty much everything, even a trip around the Carousel of Progress and the Hall of Presidents which I never get to do (kids are never interested)

Had an awesome time.

We're going next year this time and are debating between MVMCP or no-MVMCP... why would you not go? Would you say it is busier during the party than it is on a regular day at the same time?

We're 2 adults / 4 kids if that matters, so MVMCP is expensive for our family.

In my experience of going two years in a row to the party, the parade is crazy crowded. The rides are, I think, much less busy than during a day, but if you want to watch the shows it's bananas. Also, if your kids are little they'll pass out. Based on our experience we won't go back to the evening party til our kids are lot older and can stay up late.
