Hello fellow brides! I stumbled upon this forum while researching Disney weddings and have enjoyed reading everyones stories and looking at pictures.

My name is Rachel and am a HUGE Disney fan. I've not been one of those girls who's been planning her wedding since she was 3, but once BF and I started talking about getting married I knew I wanted a Disney wedding. While I consider myself a seasoned Disney veteran, he has never stepped foot on Disney property before :scared1: But he's finally taking his first trip this December. I love Disney, but I especially at Christmas time. It gives the world this whole extra layer of magic that I don't think you could get otherwise. Technically we're not engaged yet, but we have picked out rings and BF should pop the question here in the next couple of months. We're both finishing up college and he wants to wait till we're done. (I'm hoping he'll do it during said trip in December :scratchin )

I know that we'll be doing an Escape wedding (our guest list for people who are a "must invite" is exactly 18 people :thumbsup2 ) and we're leaning toward either the Yacht Club Gazebo or Sea Breeze Point. I don't want a princess fairy tale wedding, but something classy and unique that our family and friends are going to remember for a long time.

I'm planning on trying to visit the wedding locations while we're down there this December to see if that swings us one way or the other. From what I've read, pictures can't really do either justice. But since we're wanting to try to get married next December, should I go ahead a contact the folks at Disney Weddings? I know they can pencil you in at 12 months and we'll be right at that the same time we're down there. Or should we wait until after we visit the locations and then contact them when we get home?

I've been trying to read as many of the threads as possible so that I don't repeat questions that have already been asked. But I'm sure I'll probably duplicate at thing or two. But from what I've seen so far, you all seem like a great group of brides. I look forward to joining the "I was married at Disney" club soon!

Hi welcome to the boards!!! You will love SBP and you will have a classy wedding!!! Good luck with everything and I hope you get engaged soon :)

Hi! :wave2: You can book outdoor locations like Sea Breeze Point and Yacht Club Gazebo at 12 months. So if you wanted, you could book in December and then change the location if you needed to after the trip.

Have a great time in December!

Hi Welcome to the Boards!!!! I myself am not having an outdoor wedding but I have seen many brides here do it and it always looks so gorgeous!

Thanks for the warm welcome! LL that's good to know, although I don't think we're ready to book yet (at least financially). How does the actually booking process work? I ready somewhere that there is a lottery of some sort. I'm super excited at getting married, yet the idea of a destination wedding makes me super nervous (even at Disney where I know we're in good and capable hands).
