My husband and I will be at WDW Oct. 21-31. Since my husband is training for the Disney Marathon (yay! we get to go back in January!) he'll need to do two long runs (around 15 miles each) during our trip. Does anyone have any good tips for long running routes? We'll be staying at AKL the first weekend and OKW the second weekend. Thanks!

Does he have to do them outside? What about on the treadmill at the fitness centers? I know for certain that OKW has one, not too sure about AKL though.

Not sure about AKL. They might have a trail around the resort, repetitious but do-able.
OKW has paths to DTD. Early morning before DTD opens would be best. To extend the run, you could exit DTD and run around SSR. It looks pretty big with paths around the pools and man made lakes. I would guess from OKW to DTD to SSR and back might be 5 miles. 3 loops and you are done.
Good luck with the marathon.

Seems to me when we stayed on site in 2000 I asked at the front desk and was either provided with a map or was given directions because I know I ran a couple of 10 milers while staying at WDW

Theres really no place to run at AKL but there are treadmills in the fitness center. You could always drive to one of the moderates, there are long trails, or you could go to FW and run there.(Its a nice trail though the woods.)

Come ask the question on the Wish board under the large weekly marathon training thread and I'm sure you will get lots of help!
