Long movies

JFK - 2 VHS tapes - I still have it

to the left and back, to the left and back....whenever we are bored with a movie dh and i compare it to seeing jfk in the theater with no intermissiono_O
Sadly, I didn't even make it an hour into Titanic

when we used to do cruises dh would shudder at my tradition of always watching either or ideally both 'titanic' and the 'poseidon adventure' the night before we left. i hate 'titanic' but it was my handbook of 'what not to do' whereas 'poseidon adventure' is my go to for cruising 'to do':teeth:

A couple others not mentioned….

JFK - 2 VHS tapes - I still have it
Ben Hur - Charlton Heston version
I love JFK!

I remember some other double-tapers of ye olde days:
Once Upon a Time in America (If memory serves)
Scarface
Godfather
Apocalypse Now
Doctor Zhivago

The Vincent Price version of House of Wax had an intermission, but that because in theaters they had to change reels for a 3-D sequence. The 3-D in that movie wasn't exactly used to it's potential. A Extensive footage of a guy bouncing a paddle-ball at the camera was probably much more entertaining to people in the 50's.

Hang on to your seat, here's a clip:

Two that come to mind:
Titanic
Schindler’s List

Also, though I’ve never actually seen them in their entirety (DH is a fan),The Godfather movies are all pretty long.
I have Titanic on VHS. If you only watch the first tape the boat doesn't sink. I think the change happens right as it hits the iceberg.

Sadly it wouldn't help me. I barely learned how to get on board.

Seen almost all of the ones mentioned, I love a good Epic movie. I watch GWTW and Ben Hur a lot, good for those long rainy days. And Lawrence of Arabia was a family favorite. Let me throw Ten Commandments with Yul and Charlton, or big Chuck as we call him, in the mix. My Mama once re-created a scene by crawling down a sand dune in Saudi Arabia once while yelling "let my people free".
