:)My DD is getting married and we want to throw her a shower. I was thinking on the lines of a Tea but my SIL just went to one and said she felt like you didn't get enough food. She went home hungrey ( which really worries me because she eats like a bird) Anyway have you been to any showers that you enjoyed. My house just isn't large enough. We live in Nassau County. Thanks, :cool1:

How about a brunch? It might be a bit cheaper than a luncheon but I'm not sure. Where in nassau? Close to RVC? How many people? I haven't been to a bridal shower in a long time but I've had First Communion parties for my kids. I know a place in Oceanside that has good food and a nice party room/tent.

I love the idea of a brunch. We live in Franklin Square so RVC and oceanside are both good. Tell me about the oceanside place. I'm thinking around 50 women. Party room/ tent sounds nice.

Singletons in wantagh ( I htink its wantagh) has a really nice private party room for showers

The last shower I went to was at Trattoria Di Meo in Roslyn, just off of the LIE/Northern State, and it was very good. It's a small restaurant, and the entire place was rented. I also went to a couple of showers at the Millridge Inn, and they were very nice. I found the catered food was much better than what is served at the restaraunt. I've been to the Singleton's in Bethpage, and the food was good there too.

The last few showers I went to were tea themed--we had sit-down meals, and then a large tea selection for dessert, and the favors were all tea-related, such as tea bag holders with personalized tea bags and mini tea-pot creamers, and the centerpieces were flowers in a large tea pot.

I'll send you a PM:thumbsup2

What about the Milk and Sugar Cafe in I think BayShore? They have a website. Or the Fox Hollow. They have smaller rooms for parties and the food is great. You could rent out the sweet shop at the Milleridge and have them cater it. There is also the New Hyde Park Inn. I heard that place is nice.

Congrats!:cutie:

THYME in Roselyn.

We had my grandma's 80th birthday party there this past summer- 50 women. They let us have the whole restaurant to ourselves (lunch).

The food was absolutely AMAZING (they created a special menu) and the atmosphere is very lovely.

My mom said that the people were wonderful to work with. They were super helpful the day of the party as well.
