Long Island, NY Catering Hall Help Needed

It is sad about Coral House. I've heard people say good things about the Watermill, but I haven't been there in many, many years.

I know someone that thought the catering hall at Bethpage State Park was fantastic.

I need to start planning for my mothers 80th birthday. I'll be looking at responses on this thread :thumbsup2.

If you want intimate with good food there is Andre's in Patchogue, very private and the food was wonderful, and then there is the Pine Grove Inn also in Patchogue, very pretty if you like German food.

OMG how I miss LI. ;)

I just love this board!!!!

There are some really great suggestions and I will emailing and making tons of phone calls.

Keep the suggestions coming. I want to hear them all.

I do have one more question. Do you give favors to your guests for a 50th Wedding Anniversary and what would you give???

I would give something edible, like a cupcake or a cookie favor. I know personally speaking, the little trinket stuff tends to end up collecting dust! Or you could do a sweets table in lieu of a favor with decorated cookies, etc. This girl does AMAZING things!

I don't know how big of a group you plan on hosting but the Miller Place Inn is awesome-amazing food!
Andrew's on the Pond in wading river is fantastic! (More great food :thumbsup2)
and another vote for Danford's in Port Jeff.

I thought of two more restaurants. Four, is located in Melville on Rt. 110. Easy access from the LIE and Northern and Southern State Parkways. It might be a good midway point for both Nassau and Suffolk residents.

Another one that might fit the bill is La Pace in Glen Cove.

Both of these places have excellent food.

My sister got married last year at Majestic Gardens in Rocky Point. Very pretty. Not sure how much you are looking to spend, but I think it was around $110 a person.

You should probably post this on www.lifamilies.com or www.liweddings.com and someone can help you more than I can!

Hey SummerLuv! You're still here! I tried to look you up a few months ago but your name didn't come up :confused3. I passed you during the Summer on Sunrise Hwy right by Hospital Rd, but couldn't catch up to you to wave hi (you took the Service Rd towards North Ocean Ave as I stayed on Sunrise).

OP, DH and I had our wedding reception at Medditerean (sp?) Manor in Patchogue. The web site is www.medmanor.com. Every place we looked at couldn't compare to it. There is a separate room for the cocktail hour and they have two different rooms available for the reception, depending on the size of the party. The food is great, too. Check it out.

Thanks everyone, I love all of your suggestions and will be relaying them to my siblings, so that we can start narrowing places down and start picking a date a year from now.

So much to do. Hall, invites, flowers, gift, etc.......

OMG Java!! You just brought back a flood of memories. I danced there many times. What fun memories.

Wait a minute! Were you on LI? I personally was a SPIT girl myself or maybe Malibu in the summers on Thursday night. Ah Long Island where they really do understand what Ladies night was meant to be!

You probably spelled it wrong, 2 r's and 2 l's ;) Ohh too funny! I take North Ocean to get home so I was probably coming from a playdate. How the heck did you know it was me though?

Was I on Long Island?, born and raised, and had my children on Long Island.

Malibu!!!! Rumors, Speaks, Channel 80, watching bands at Soleman Grundys (may not be the spelling :)) etc. if there was dancing I was there. Never was much of a drinker, but grab my stiletos and put that music on and I was off.

P.S. I had my Sweet Sixteen at Malibu!

Its in Baldwin. DH and I got married there over 10 years ago, and the food was very good. The prices were very reasonable back then. They handle more than just weddings, so would probably be flexible for an intimate event.

Stay away from here! I was married there 20 years ago and the food was very good. We recently went to an occasion here and the service and food was HORRIBLE.

New Hyde Park Inn was beautiful and the food was delicious. We went to a 2nd marriage wedding here and we loved it. Put it on my list of places to remember when my daughter gets married ;)

Your license plate :goodvibes. That and I did a quick look to see if it was you from the pictures you have posted on here. It was on a Saturday and I was on my way to Staples to get more ink for our printer when I was near you. I live within 5 minutes to Brookhaven (aka Crookhaven) Hosital.

Don't forget about WLIR and Malibu Sue! They were always at Malibu.

What about the New Hyde Park Inn or Koenigs?

My BF had her wedding at New Hyde park Inn and I had at Koenig's.
They room on top of the restaurant was great for catering.
Although that was 25 years ago.
