Long Island Disers Please help~Spring Break 2017

I was just thinking about going on a cruise next year for spring break. However, once I checked the calendar I saw that Easter and Passover overlap in 2017. That means our(NYC ) spring break should be pretty long.

I'm assuming our last day of class will be Friday, April 7 and we will return on Wednesday, April 19. If that is the case, I'd rather go to Disney. Unfortunately, DOE hasn't released -the 2016-2017 calendar yet. Since we tend to have the same spring break as many of the Long Island school districts, I was wondering if any of you have the calendar for next school year yet.

It doesn't look like our calendar is out yet in Syosset That sounds like great news for our break though!

Hi! Just wondering if you can tell me what the first day of school for your district is? I too am patiently awaiting my districts ( Sachem ) 2016-2017 calandar.. Our trip is the end of August this year ending on 8/31. I was hoping we wouldn't start until after Labor Day .. But William Floyd released their calandar with a start date of 8/31 and now I'm nervous..

Hi neighbor, our district (Three Village) starts on Tuesday, September 6. The teachers go in on Thursday and Friday, September 1-2 for conference days. This year Sachem and Three Village had very similar calendars. I hope it's the same for you next year. Enjoy your trip!
