I was looking at the Gatwick arrivals and departures online and Virgin, especially from Orlando seems to be the worst in most cases, and by quite a bit!

Most US flights have between 30mins and 2 hour delays, but Virgin seem to be 5 hours plus!

BA from Gatwick still have 3 to 5 hours delay.

BA and Ryanair have been on the news and blaming BAA.

As this must be one of the busiest times to fly due to school holidays could this be a factor in the constant knock on effect.

Hope everyone can get away without too much delay in the next few days.

Susan

According to the Manchester airport website - the Virgin flight coming in is expected to be 5 and a half hours late today. Thought things might have ironed out a little by now. Hope things get better by Friday, when we travel.

The time will surely have to come when, unless thay can find one of their own aircraft to slot into the MCO route to start a catch up procedure, they will have to put their hands in their pockets and temporarily lease a further aircraft. With the delays currently between four and seven hours I can't see howthey can get back on schedule or thereabouts without doing something.

I'm sure most holidaymakers would accept a different aircraft rather than a seven hour delay.

The incoming VS016 is showing an 8 hour delay now. On the departure site it says that yesterdays Monarch flight to Sanford is still delayed!!

Hi,
I noticed that VA have cancelled six flights today all to/from Heathrow and also twilight check-in was not available yesterday for VS15 & VS27. Not sure if the cancelled flights will help clear some of the backlog but here's hoping.

Yes, the problem is not just positioning of aircraft, its also the crewing situation, when pilots run out of hours etc to fly and crew are all over the world.
Logistical nightmare
