I am visiting my parents in NJ. I want to go to the shore tomorrow to relax and read for a few hours. LBI is the closest to my parents, but it has been many years since I have been there. Any suggestions on which beach I should go to there.

I've never utilized the beaches, but if you decide to go to the Lighthouse, please be careful on the rocks! I fell a few weeks ago on the rocks and almost fell in the ocean :(

Just went to Surf City...12th street (my sister rented a house there)...nice beach and there are a couple place to eat around there if you need lunch. It is very close to the bridge too. Go over the bridge, make a left.

Have fun!

It seems like Beach Haven is more of a beach town environment, if you want some shops and restaurants along with the beach. We will be in North Beach in 3 days! but it is more residential...
Have a nice trip!

beach haven is fun like pp said and so is harvey cedars (left off the bridge) we usually avoid ship bottom (town where you exit the bridge) because of how crowded it gets. Maybe do an online search tonight to see who has the cheapest daily beach badges aval. they can get costly

Thanks for the suggestions. I did look at the beach tag rates and most were $5. I just want a beach that is not too crowded.
