What do you do on long airplane trips? I cannot sleep! I wish I could. I went overseas with a group a few years ago and almost everyone in my group was like this :faint: . Of course, I was like this :hyper:  That was the longest trip ever... lol

Anyway, what do you do on long plane rides? Can you use a laptop on a plane?

Yes, you can use a laptop.................

I sleep.....................sorry!!!!! Try taking some Dimetapp to help you nap!! Works wonders...............

Neck pillow, eye shades, walkman with "calming" music, glass of wine with your meal, "sleepez" (over the counter sleeping tablets).......when the movie comes on you should be :faint:
Or upgrade to first class.........especially airlines with "sleeper" seats - that would do it for me!
Good luck!

I went to Australia and I swore i would never sleep sitting up but on and off I went out. it was over 20 hrs of flying first to LA then no stop to Sydney and i couldn't even if I tried stay awake that long. I just relaxed, we had movies and the glasses of wine help relax me. :D

Try Ambien - it's a prescription sleeping pill.

My doctor gave it to me when I was traveling overseas on business. I could NOT go to sleep at night and then would have to go to work with NO sleep.

I only use it when I travel. I know several other people who use it also - no grogginess the next morning.

The other good thing is that you CAN wake up if you need to. I've wakened to put the dog out or to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and gone right back to sleep. I"ve never felt drugged.

I think the usual dose is 10 mg but I use 1/2 a pill. I've never taken it for more than 3 nights as that seems to get me regulated to a new time zone.

I hated the idea of taking a sleeping pill, but this has virtually no side affects for most people and again I never feel "drugged".

I took one on a trip to Italy and woke up very refreshed when I got there. It was the easiest international transition I ever made.

We flew to the US last year & I really did not think I would sleep & I didn't except for a couple of hrs.

I took a couple of magazines & crossword puzzle books, plus they had movies to watch.

It was a long drawn out flight, but we got throught it. I've been told by a friend who travels on a regular basis that the night flights are best.......you do tend to sleep a bit more on them & I must say that I agree with her. Our return fight from LA to Bne was a night time one & it was so much better.............by the time we got to Auckland it was 5am & we were only 3 hrs from home.

Some people on the plane had laptops, others had books or music.

When we fly from our home in California to Orlando on our WDW
trips (a 5 hr flight) I usually book 7am flights....then we stay up
late the night before and then just sleep on the plane.....
a Bloody Mary at the airport before boarding the plane doesn't hurt either....:rotfl:

I've never been on a flight that lasted longer than 4 hours. I would love to go to England and Australia and if I ever get those trips I will take a neck pillow, so I can try to sleep.
