Okay, so I landed a pair of Crocs, by happenstance, when walking past a shoestore in Lido Beach last week. They are medium beaches (I wear a size 7.5 shoe, and my feet swim in them), but they were the only pair he had (he's been back ordered since May). Did I mention they're black? My 17 yo DS calls them "butt ugly black." I won't even say what my hubby calls them, but it isn't complimentary.

I assured them that when we got to WDW, they would see. All these thousands of people who read the DIS have all bought Crocs, and we would be surrounded by in the know Croc wearers.

but...today, wading through Epcot in my ugly "clodhoppers" I was the ONLY one. No other Croc wearers did I see.

Come on, DIS! I will be in the MK Tuesday afternoon, in my big ugly black CROCS. Come on out in your Crocs and prove these guys wrong. (They claim they're going to bury them before then.)

I found I need some moleskin around my big toes to make them work, but other than that, they sure are comfy.

But DH said that when we have our "date night" at Bistro de Paris, if I'm in the Crocs, no date.

When we were there in early June, I saw very few Crocs. Way more flip flops and Tevas.

 AWWWWWWWWWW... If its Sept already I would walk with you everyday with matching black crocs....

I saw 2 people wearing crocs yesterday- I had read about them on here and wondered what the big deal was. They don't look very comfy to me, plastic with a big rubber strap on the back. Is there terry cloth inside or something to keep your feet from moving around when you sweat?

When we were in Disney in May, we saw very few Crocs. But in Dollywood last week in the rain, we counted over 100 pairs! :earseek: At least I'm not out of place in my fire engine red ones.

In may I counted about 6 pairs, but I have received more comments about Crocs than I have with all of the other shoes I have worn in my life combined. Just a few days ago the Ice cream man asked me about them and where he could get them.

I saw a few other Croc wearers in April; my ds pointed them out to me! Not many, though.

We saw a lady wearing them at Sam's one day while we were going through the line, and I saw a teenage guy and a little girl wearing them at the local water park.

They are selling them in Nordstrom and Dillard's but I haven't seen very many out on the streets! DS9 tried on a pair at Dick's Sporting Goods and actually really liked them but the only color they had in his size was something hideous. I tried them but didn't care for them.

OP-
Keep your eyes open - there must be more around WDW! :p

Sorry but I don't think I would be caught dead in these. I was willing to give it a shot. I went to a store, tried them on and could not imagine walking in public with them. The Nile style looks alittle better.
I am sure they are comfortable but I guess you have to get used to the style since they are very unique looking!

We we're there yesterday and both my DD and I were wearing our Crocs, had a few people actually compliment us on them and ask where they could get a pair!

It doesn't matter to me if people think they're ugly because I love them & besides I stopped caring about what strangers think years ago!;)

I have worn mine every day since I got them back in about May or so. I have 3 pair. Emerald Green and Yellow Beach and a Navy Blue pair without holes. I have VERY bad knees and have not worn any of my other VERY comfy shoes, including my nicely padded comfortable gym shoes since then. They are so much more comfortable. I don't wear the strap in back, but put it in front so they look like clogs. I've also gotten more comments on them than you can believe. There are very few around here in southern MN, but they are starting to come into the stores.

On our vacation to Colorado in June, we stopped for one thing in Des Moines and I saw someone wearing them and they were all over the place in Estes Park, CO. No matter where you looked someone was wearing them. I really don't care what people think, I opt for being able to walk normally and not limp around like I'm 30 years older than I am.

So come November I'll be the cute little lady walking around Disney World in my bright yellow Crocs!!!

Hey Torontogal hope you have a great 10th anniversary trip! We're celebrating our 10 anniversary on the 19th of August! Congrats! :flower:

We saw about 10 pair of crocs at WDW. I wanted to ask the family all in pink beach if they were disers.

we didnt see many on our trip last April.. in the two and half weeks we probably saw about 4 pairs (not including the entire croc family we saw one day!)

DS5 points them out to me all the time.

These shoes are so amazing that I now own 6 pairs and hope to buy two more when we are in the US next month!! (well a girl has to co-ordinate doesnt she!?)

Yes, they are butt ugly shoes.. but so much so that they are cute...
I too get a lot of compliments..(particularly on the pink and purple pairs!)

Could someone post a picture of these so I can watch for them? Never seem to see any lime green ribbons or Mickey heads. Maybe I'll have better luck with these!

When we went in June I too saw very few pairs. It got to be a game with us finding someone else who ws wearing them.
My BF who I thought would make fun of the shoes actually liked them and asked where he could get a pair! I was shocked!!!

I wear them around town doing errands and like a previous post, no one stops me either to ask where I got them and if I like them.

P.S. I spray deoderant on my feet before I put them on to stop any sweating. I do like the crocs and they are comfortable. I wore them once to work and they were great. (I work retail)

I don't care that much that they're ugly, but don't your feet sweat like *&&^&^%%$ in those rubber shoes? They remind me of the old Jellies shoes that were plastic or rubber or whatever. Wet, sweaty feet! :crazy2:

I saw someone at the Walmart, here in S. Jersey with orange CROCS. My ds said...look ma, you aren't the only ones with CROCS. I know there are many people from the DIS boards in South Jersey but still didn't have the nerve to go up to her and ask her if she was a member of the disboards...

Not at all. The LOOK like plastic or rubber, but really are like a foam. Hard to describe. I NEVER wear socks with mine, and they don't stink at all. MY feet never get soggy in there (I have the ones with holes all over). OH, and I wear the heel strap turned around the front so they look like clogs. I call them my glorified gardening clogs. MY dd 11 got a pair of Payless Airwalks (a knockoff lookalike of Crocs) and says they are very comfy, but when she wore my Crocs one day she noticed that the Crocs are much better comfort-wise. The colorful ones, I think, look kind of cute. I made the mistake of getting the beige ones, which don't look like a fashion statement. But they DO get many questions! Some people look sort of perplexed when askign about them, but other people, especially on WDW resort transportation, seemed intrigued. I wore mine in WDW on our Easter trip, and again the second weekend of April in WDW.
